I like your work. You belt a Left handed bow, and shooting it right handed. For a right handed bow the window should be in the left side. You see, as you put the three fingers of your right hand behind the string, and pull back the slight rotation of the string in you fingers. And then when you let go, the string rolls pushing the arrow to the right. With you bow, that pushing would push it right, off the arrow rest.
For me, this is a wonderful demonstration by a HIGHLY skilled, resourceful woodworker who said to himself something like, "Building a take-down recurve bow isn't rocket science. I can do this." And so you did. VERY nicely. Will experienced bowyers find fault with elements of your process? Of course, perhaps starting with the use of "white glue" instead of epoxy. But they will be missing the point. Watching an experienced craftsman like you use his mind, hands, and all the right woodworking tools is pure joy. I'll never get tired of doing so. THANK YOU.

A decent first bow. Woodworking was good, and finished bow looks good. There are however quite a few technical errors both to the bow and arrow from an archery perspective. 1. When cutting an arrow shelf into the riser, the cut out section should point towards the hand that is holding it (unless a rare case of eye dominance crossover). This bow is for a left handed shooter and is best held in the right hand. 2. The bow will shoot better if the limbs are tillered. This is essential for a straight shooting bow. 3. The arrow was not the correct thickness, weight, length or "spine-stiffness" for the bows poundage. 4. The feathers used for the arrow must be from the same side of the wing on a bird. Also, only the top portion of the feather should be used, to ensure the feathers all curve the same way and make the arrow spin correctly. 5. An arrow rest will help with the arrow "jumping" off the shelf whilst shooting. It will make the arrow straighten up faster and halp greatly with precision. Other than that, I like the rotating bowstring jig. Never seen that one before. Clever!
Very creative jigs and excellent workmanship. I found it interesting that you could bend the wood without moistening it. Another thought from the archer's perspective: Usually (if not always) the archer would wrap their 3 longest fingers around the string at the first finger joint in order to pull it back, with the arrow end between the index and middle finger. It's much easier to hold while aiming, and no doubt helps with accuracy. My uncle was an excellent archer and bow hunter, who also made his own bows. How different we all are. I never destroy anything that I make. Thanks for an excellent video!

Nice work! The bow you made is left handed. If you will shoot like you did, the sight window of the recurve bow should be on the opposite side of the riser.
A first attempt at making a bow & arrow by someone who does not use one! How utterly amazing is that!!! It shows just what a skilled craftsman you are my friend & to even make your own jigs is mind blowing. It is a beautifully constructed piece & you deserve all the accolades that come your way. Beautiful clear video leaves no doubt as to your so highly developed skills, & to then discover that it was destroyed at the end is totally amazing. Why did you not put it up for sale? There would have been a veritable 'stampede' of people wanting it. Perhaps that was the reason for the destruction. Still, it was a joy to watch the 'build' & thank you for sharing it. very cool, the arrowhead is a bit heavy when the arrow is shot, the tail is shaken

As i pointed out wrong side for a right hand shooter and feathers need the proper angle on the shaft to spin correctly. But he did a good job

Not if you use the ancient technique like the Osmans, Mongols, Magyars and even medival knights
