I feel like EVERYONE knows this song, you can be 19 today and know this song from the 90s. This song definitely has moved through the generations.
Joe Rogan had him on his podcast, where he talked about how this track had been played at more sporting events than any other song ever and how he still gets paid for it

The members,Everlast had a good solo career and founded the hip hop supergroup La Coka Nostra along with DJ Lethal and Danny Boy O’Conner,DJ Lethal went onto the band Limp Bizkit and Danny Boy O’Conner bought the house from the movie The Outsiders and runs as a museum now

I just LOVE when younger people learn/realize that white people were just as big in rap/hip hop back in the day! If your young.. you only think Eminem.. Just to give everyone context, they are from an area in Manhattan which was historically really bad, thus the name. Hells Kitchen. Great name.
They weren't from New York I believe they were from California

@@debbymccormick7761You and were partially right. Everlast and Danny Boy were both born in New York but moved to California. This song came out before the internet and somehow my childhood friends and I thought they were from Hells Kitchen in Manhattan. Maybe it was filmed in the bars in Hells Kitchen and that led to what we were told. Separately my cousin Debbie’s mother was a McCormick from Brooklyn. Funny coincidence.

The album this song was on came out the same year Larry Bird retired.
I'll be honest, only noticed the jersey because I was half watching, didn't notice the 33. I feel ashamed of myself. The only time I ever really watched Basketball and cared was the Bird/Parish/McHale era. (dear god I hope nobody saw this before the edit)
