Nice comparison. But I want to add something to this- The Corgeut case resembles the case of the first Omega Speedmasters (i.e 105.012) that did not have the push buttons and crown protection, hence, it was a Symmetrical case, but after NASA told Omega they would like to have protections, Omega agreed and that is reflected in the actual Omega models and in the Pagani. Another thing is the Chronograph Seconds hand. The Corgeut is using the hand that Omega used from 1972 to 2009, while the Pagani is using the hand that is in actual use by the 3861 model. Then third, the sub-dials of the Pagani are more accurate that the Corgeut in the markings. But both have the minute subdivisions in the minute track that are actually used by the new 3861.
Just a personal comment- With all the advanced technology, I wonder why Seiko (the maker of the VK63 movement), Citizen, ETA, Ronda, and others, have not make a Quartz-MecaQuartz movement that truly imitates the original the mechanical three sub-dial movements of past times, like the 1863, the Valjoux 7736, etc. Instead, they make add a 26-hr dial, when none of these classic models had- (except for some late automatic movements like the Lemania 5100 and 1341). I would really like to have one homage watch with those dials and functions.........

In my perception the Corgeut doesn't have a chance. Main reasons are the mineral crystal and even worse the bracelet with fully polished middle links. Excellent idea to include the community vote Al! 👍
Cheers Alex! I really like the Corgeut and I've had it several years now but the PD gets a lot more wrist time than the Corgeut these days.
I agree that the Pagani is the better watch of the two. To Corgeut's defense, the review is of an older (V1) version of the Corgeut, and the Pagani is 60% more expensive. A mineral crystal makes perfect sense in this price category. (The original Omegas had Hexalite crystals - plexiglas.) In order to rack up a win, the Pagani should score 60% better, instead of having price as one of many categories.
I have the Corgeut and absolutely love it! FANTASTIC value and looks great, wears even better. I bought mine in May 2021 for $53 USD.

I've been wondering about this watch Wes. Having it a year with no issues is a good selling point for me and I kind of prefer the Corgeut name to Pagani Design. Is the chrono hand lining up with the 12 ok?

Pagani have knocked it out of the park with their V3 designs and the quality is excellent lately, giving them the best value for money out there imho.

Having watched it, on balance the PD looks better, I was hoping it would be the Corgeut, but the mineral glass vs the sapphire is a big factor. And the slightly better lume on the PD too.
I agree, the Corgeut is a great watch for the money, but IMHO the PD is better looking and has better specs.
The Corgeut's 2021 version looks almost identical to the Pagani. I have no idea why they added that huge bezel. Either way, these are both bargains.
A pal of mine has a real Speedy, i have the pagani featured, my friend was impressed how closely it looked and felt to his Omega.
The Corguet speedy was my first purchase, I believe v2 with the more accurate bezel thickness, I really enjoy it on a tan leather strap, i thought it had a saphire crystal but I managed to scrstch it, so maybe it is hard mineral like the v1. I really like how thin it is, wears very comfortably, and being quartz is accurate and doesn't require any effort, just set and forget. Great watch and a great value foe the price point. My only real gripe is the symmetric case, the pushers appear accurate, but look odd hanging out in space, where the asymmetric case of the omega should be acting like a crown guard changing the proportion and look of the pushers and crown. Minor gripes include minimal tick marks on subdials making accrate timed measurement a little iffy; also the dial coloration and texture, I like it but compared to the PD v3 its a little low contrast and less legible. I purchased a Pegani Design speedy to compare when the white hand version 3 came out. It quickly became my everday watch. The dial is a deep black providing striking contrast and legibility, the asymmetric case provides correct case proportions, the subdials are deep with concentric circle texture providing a slight sunburst reflection, I wear it on a dark deep red leather strap and it looks amazing, the lume is ok, but exceeded expectation for a speedy homage, and while dim, does last a long time providing viable time reading in total darkness. The dial proportion in relation to the bezel is key to matching the beauty of the Omega Speedmaster, the Corguet comes closer but unfortunately has the unguarded spindly pushers sticking out of the symmetrical case like antennae. The Pagani's asymmetrical case and thinner case side are much more accurate, but something about the way the light reflects off the sidewall/rim of the slightly domed saphire crystal causes the dial too look slightly smaller than it is, and the bezel to look slighlty wider, which in my opinion changes the visual proportions enough that it looses that unique speedmaster look. Its still beautiful and very similar to a speedmaster, but without that key proportion being accurate it looks like something new and unique but not exactly a speedmaster, despite the presence of so many identical elements. I still love it though, and find it superior to the Corguet, though I love that one too. They both have thier own pluses and minusee. If one could combine the elements that each offering gets right, it would be the perfect homage.

I hesitated between the Corgeut, PD and the Phylida. The latter was automatic I think but I wanted it with the ST19 manual wind movement.
I rejected it because of the higher price range. Finally I decided to buy the PD, but it was the V2 and when it arrived I almost instantly regretted my choice.
It had black date wheel but the indicies were silver. It looked good but I wanted the white hands.
When V3 came out I bought one and it looked way better! I could easily sell the PD V2 because it's a nice looking watch, just isn't a true homage.
I vote for the PD. Imho it's a more complete package.

This "mecquartz" from Seiko is know for the accuracy and reliability. I´ve seen owners given testemonies of its accuracy. Something 15 seconds a month. One specific user, after 1 year of ownership, said that accuracy is

I have the Pagani. I just wish they applied an AR coating. The sapphire crystal is so reflective it makes the whole thing look kinda cheap. Yeah I know it's so low-priced already but I'm sure most people would gladly pay a bit more for AR coating.

My Corgeut has a thinner bezel, much like the PD. I ordered it with a NATO, and I love it. The hands line up almost perfectly, much better than a Seiko I purchased...

Not sure exactly why but the Corgeot just looks like a classic while the PG doesn't quite capture the vibe of the Moon watch. It could be that crystal. That being said my PG Daytona homage is my grab and go watch when I don't have time to set the day date on the Ray2. It seldom happens as that Orion has been getting around 80% of the available wrist time since I replaced the lightly scratched miniral with Sapphire and turned it into a almost Kamasu almost a year ago.

I purchased the corguet, with the blue face. The legibility of the face versus the speedy black and white hands; latter wins.
No issue to speak of with movement +, where the difference between wearing frequently, and not.

I have both, the Pagani for me is better but not vastly I swapped the bracelet on the Corgeut as it's not great but the price of the Corgeut is fantastic value always interesting content

I think the Corgeut is more of an homage to the FOIS whereas the PD looks more like the Professional. All in all the PD is the better watch but I like the retro look of the Corgeut more.

These sort of comparisons are flawed.. it assumes each category has equal weighting. Some aspects are more important than others, I’d rather a better rating for movement and crystal than brand or bracelet
I appreciate what you're saying but other people might suggest that other categories be weighed instead, according to their own priorities.

i think pagani looks better its a larger watch and the Corgeot looks much bulkier. Imo the bracelet of the Pagani is unwearable out of the box i would give it lower points. You need to polish it on your own with sandpaper or get a 3rd party bracelt. It's simply too uncomfortable to wear if you're used to other metal bracelets that have been polished.
Mine wasn't very sharp straight out of the box, it was only slightly sharp, PD do need to improve it though. Thanks for watching 👍👍

corgeut looks odd as the bezel it completely wrong. in my opinion the best speedy homage is the phylida st1901, the build quality and finish on mine is outstanding for the price. spend the extra and get something much better is my advise.
I know what you mean, to be fair the thinner bezel on the V2 of the Corgeut is an improvement though. The Phylida version is a great watch for those with the budget and who want to go down the fully mechanical route. Thanks for watching!

Great video. Unfortunately the Phylida chronograph is almost impossible to get hold of. Many sites say it is no longer in stock. I have a mechanical Alpha chronograph that’s accurate and very good looking. Would recommend the Alpha. I’m awaiting delivery of the Pagani V3 chronograph.

Both watches are 40mm aka not usable for me. I would take them for a test if they were 38mm.

I own both and I prefer the my Corgeut . I own 7 Pagani's inc a black and grey dial PD-1701 and have had really major QC issues with 4 of them. Pagani's ability to deal with QC issues really suck and they are abysmal. They try to ignore you in the hope that you will go away and I've had to resort to involving Aliexpress to mediate, who have found in my favour every time and have issued me with a refund (usually 50% of the cost) .....If you buy Pagani then 'Caveat Emptor'
Sorry to hear about the issues you've had. I've owned many PD watches and only ever had 1 major QC issue. I used the AliExpress dispute service and was able to use the free return service for a full refund. Thanks for watching 👍👍

At first glance the Corgeut looks cheap and not accurate in comparison to the real Omega. The Pagani Design comes much closer in accuracy and proportions to the original.
And the bracelet is just not the correct one on the Corgeut. Huge fail.
So PD wins.
Corgeut should also lose points from having a brand that sounds French. But seriously, it looks and reads like garbage next to that Pagani Design. The viewer who said it's still better is on crack.
