I've resisted Paganini Design watches for a while, mainly because of qc issues various reviewers have pointed out. (I'm less bothered by homage watches as much as some. I don't make Speeedmaster or Submariner money, and they're not selling themselves as the originals, so it's not a shady fake.)
This has brought me around to potentially picking one up, however. Fingers crossed, PD can use this as a springboard for future quality releases.
On this model they have come a long way, and that's the main quality of Pagani Design, they listen to customer feedback to improve their watches. This is I believe a culmination if what they can do below a certain price point.
I've always wanted a Speedmaster and never really considered a Pagani Design in any model. But yeah, this model I ordered. It was super convincing and too well priced to feel like I lose if it doesn't work out.
Pagani just shamed the omega moon swatch for less than half the price 😂

The PD 1701 has come a long way since its first release that I didn't like. It has improved in many ways including the crystal which now has a decent AR coating. At first I thought this wouldn't replace a Moonswatch but I changed my mind.
I agree, the first versions were disappointing, but they hit the nail with this v5...and didn't raise the price 😊
I have resisted getting this (or any) PD since V1 but finally broke down. Can't believe they are this good for that price! I hope PD can profit from their good work on this platform. If the original brand and spit out endless versions of this design and charges obscene amount of money so can PD at ground level!

Fantastic watch. I got the Mission to Uranus version after having a disastrous experience with the original one (yes, I had a brainfart moment and bought one because I like the colour. Let's just say, it was so bad, I could get my money back. I might even get one of these too. Highly recommended. Two small points, the edge of the case opposite the pushers was ever so slightly sharp so I rubbed it for a few minutes with 600 emery paper and it's as smooth as silk! Did the same on the edges of the bracelet. I think mine has ceramic, not sapphire bezel. I don't want to overstate the edges of the case, and bracelet. It's not an issue at all, I just like extra smooth! I highly recommend this watch. Thank you for the review!
Thank you VERY MUCH for that essential feedback my friend! It's very interesting from one who has owned both watches. From what I've seen and heard those MoonSwatches are a nightmare, colouring your wrist, feeling cheap and just disintegrating 😂

got this one in red for 70$ and the daytona "panda" for 40$ , 110$ for 2 amazing watches ( daytona bracelet is kind of bad but for 40$ ? it's a no brainer )

I hope Pagani will go all the way and release colors inspired from the Moonswatch colors… at this low price, then it becomes interesting to collect them all, just for the fun of having them all :)
Happy with my V3, only miss the AR coating. Also wears well on a black racing style strap. Gets plenty of wrist time. Regards

The chronograph hand on mine goes slightly to the right like yours and it really bothers me. I have Amazon send me another hopefully it lines up perfect at the 12.

In watch industry, brand and status means everything sometimes. Moonswatch has no built quality definitely but what is important is it is an original product by Swatch and Omega. The label Omega, Speedmaster on the watch is legit, that is good enough as a watch. It is not even a homage or replica as Omega involves in the project.
I agree with you on that point. And that's the reason why I was excited to some extent when Swatch released the original MoonSwatch. But then they screwed it up big time with the availability issues and the downright lies. Then with the terrible quality of the product (pushers falling off, paint staining people's wrists) and now the release of totally uninspired versions (Moonshine Gold 😂) with even less availability. So in the light of all this if someone else is coming up with a better quality product even though it's piggybacking on the original I'm going to be all over it 😁
@@Horologique QC issue is the minority. It is disposable in nature but for any watches with the price range, who will repair or maintain? Moreover, batt replacement is FOC for watch life-span. Homage watch is nice but both watches are of different strength on their own.

Unfortunate to see more MoonSwatch bashing. No need to tear down one watch to elevate another. The MoonSwatch is as much an unforeseen cultural phenomenon as it is a collection of bits and pieces. Those of us that already own a Swatch or two weren’t as freaked out by the construction like the many content creators that are late to the Swatch party and were already dismissive of the brand in general. Lastly this episode perpetuates the myth that the desire for a specific watch can be satisfied by the purchase of a different one altogether when most enthusiasts will admit that the “alternate” watch just becomes a physical reminder of the one they didn’t get and still want. Keeping your channel positive is imo a better look for you and seems to be truer to your authentic self. Still a big fan of your channel!
Thank you for your interesting comment that gives me some pause. I very much enjoy Swatch as a brand and appreciate the Swatch group as a whole, having owned owning many Tissots, Omegas and Hamiltons along the years and having extensively reviewed then and recommended them on this channel. Their Powermatic 80, pioneered on the watch System 51, is a technical achievement in a World of mechanical watches that is stagnant. And the MoonSwatch phenomenon was outstanding, and necessary in a World that didn't care anymore about wristwatches. What disappointed me was Swatch's way to handle the phenomenon, terrible planning and outright lies about availability of the MoonSwatch. And what really angered me was that, knowing all this, they doubled down on their hubris with the release of the extremely limited V2, available in only 4 cities and only during a full Moon?? That is outright disrespecting the fans.
Sorry I believe I explained all this on my French chanel, not here, so that's why this might come as a surprise.

Why would anyone want a tacky copy of a plastic watch that is a copy of an Omega watch that is a mere copy of the Apollo watch? This is just trash to the power of four.
