I purchased the stainless Ruger GP100 with the 4.2" barrel in 1997 and the only revolver that I've shot (I've shot very many) that I found was as balanced, as smooth, as accurate and as dependable, if not slightly better was the Colt Python. I then purchased a Glock 27 (.40 cal) for conceal carry, which I considered junk and I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. I would hit everything except what I was aiming at. A friend who I was at the range with said he was afraid the bullet may circle back and hit us. lol So, I recently purchased a Beretta 92X Performance. I don't have enough range time with it to give an honest opinion on it yet but I can say I was surprised by how balanced it is which enables me to keep the sights on the target between shots as the barrel doesn't rise and it has very little recoil. It did jam twice out of about 140 factory rounds (I usually hand load all my ammunition) so that could be due to the factory rounds or because it hadn't been broke in yet. All that being said, if I had to defend my family and/or myself in a situation where accuracy was paramount today, I would feel more confident with my GP100, unless I was defending against several attackers. Then the Beretta with 2-15 round mags may be the better choice; although the Ruger GP100 has proven to be a "top shelf" hand gun with plenty of stopping power and I give it an "A" rating. Thanks for the unbiased video that I agree with 100%. Great video for anyone researching revolvers before spending money or wasting money like I did on that Glock 27 but at least I was able to sell it .
As a police officer at the department I retired from I had to buy my gun. I bought the 686 back in 1984. Never had a problem with it. Several hundred rounds through it. Only miss fire of my doing not the gun. At one point our town went atuos that they bought.
My first revolver was a stainless steel S&W 686, I still consider it to be the finest handgun I own. Kind of tough for conceal carry but I do have a shoulder rig for hiking.
@@wolverinesoldier6355 I bought a Python ultimate stainless steel with 4" barrel around 1987 for $625. The ultimate stainless was just a polished stainless version. Python had three models back then...Blued, Matte Stainless and Ultimate (Polished) stainless. Still have it!

I was just about to comment the same thing. Literally shows the vented rib on the python before AND after saying "vented rib" but not when he actually says it....hilarious 😆
S&W 686 is a compact revolver that people think can't handle .357 mag rounds? A mediocre revolver? I'm glad to hear that the "feel of a Colt Python doesn't suck". I hate this AI generated crap.
I'm a collector and really enjoyed your video. I have all the revolvers in the video except the Rough Rider. I mostly have the old S&W revolvers. I also ave a lot of Ruger's that are pre-transfer bars. Great video! 🤠 I checked out your other videos and now subscribed.
The Ruger Blackhawk, Super Blackhawk, and Single 6 manufactured before 1974 Had a simple and effective safety. Like the new models you pull the hammer back to "half cock" and open the loading gate to load, eject, and reload. Unlike the new model the original pre 74's had an extra deep notch, lets call it 1/4 cock. When you loaded you then let the hammer down then pulled the hammer back about 1/4 until you head the first click then released it. At that point the hammer was in the safety position. It was perfectly safe to carry with a loaded chamber under the hammer. The reason there was a problem is because so many buyers didn't read the manual that had clear instructions for safe operation. Other "accidental" discharges were caused buy people clumsily letting the hammer slip while letting the hammer down Which can happen with any revolver. Ruger, Tired of fighting law suits changed the design an announced that they would retro fit any old model if it were sent to the factory. I happen to own an 1971 model that has not been retro fitted. I've carried it and used it with confidence for many years. It looks nearly new and is more accurate then most I've Fired!
My wife’s Colt Detective snubby has been around since the late 70’s (she inherited it from her mother) so no telling how many rounds are shot through it. It’s a nice piece , heavy but nice. I’m not a huge Colt fan but it has one of the smoothest trigger pulls I’ve ever seen.
I brought S&W model 66 that has 6" barrel for $325.00 SS that no needs for cleaning and good for saltwater place like New England. I brought Target Hammer and Target Trigger for $35.00 from S&W in 1978.
I have many of the revolvers listed, my latest was a new Python, I’ve been pleased but plan on changing the rear sight if you get one. It’s the one thing I was not pleased with.
I have owned all of these revolvers except the Ruger GP but I had it's predecessor the Security 6 . The 686 and the Colt Python are both excellent revolvers but I see them as target revolvers due to their cost . Technically I have both the Blackhawk and the Super Blackhawk. Blackhawk
As I have heard said, "Opinions are like noses, everyone has one and they all smell." This is also the "politically correct" version. No matter, I like the GP-100.
The L-framed S&W 686P is not a compact revolver. I have been carrying a 586 (blued version) for almost thirty years. It most definitely cannot be mistaken for compact. This AI generated crap cannot be taken seriously.
The 686 is not a compact revolver. It’s an L-frame with plenty of heft to handle .357. A compact S&W .357 would be the J-frame Model 60. Not fun to shoot .357 but it is capable.
I prefer my S&W Model 19-2 'cause I like blued guns better than stainless/nickel/etc, but I admit to being ownership-biased. :) It's the big brother to my Model 15-1, which of course is in .38 special, and also blued that close-enough-to-black that S&W does so nice.
I've never seen a video comprison fo the Heritage .22's and the old Colt Frontier Scout. They're the same gun with an obnoxious safety the Colt didn't have.
Look I don't really care that much about the speech errors that the AI makes when it reads things a little incorrectly. What I care about is how poorly written narrative is, it's just that these are never accurate. They're very incomplete. Sometimes they're just wrong.
What is a " single action , double action revolver " A revolver is EITHER a DOUBLE action ( meaning you can cock the hammer manually or cycle it with the TRIGGER , or single action meaning each time you want to shoot it you need to cook the HAMMER!!! SO to say it is DOUBLE action SINGLE action is a wordy way of a person with no knowledge of revolvers of what they are talking about uses a wordy (meaninglessly wordy) dialog to make it look like they are talking about!!! sort of like DEMOCRATS do!!!
Really obvious video. Canned and planned, with a digital voice created by artificial imbecility. And, it will probably just feature the five guns this guy happens to own!
ENOUGH with the AI generated narrations. Hire a voice actor that can say "six eighty six" instead of "six da eightysix. You lost this viewer at that faux paux.

AI generated vocals --just great--NOT 👎
couldnt agree more. hate it.
Yep, done after a minute.
Couldn’t agree more. Otherwise not a bad video.
Yep, last 5 mins and had to be done.
I think many of these computer-voiced channels are foreign owned and run.
What the hell is a S&W 6two86? Or a Python in three hundred fifty seven? This AI voice is just so wrong.
Ted just hasn't learned how to read all that good.

But a Redhawk 44 Mag is a dream.
“Smith and Wesson model Six to Eighty Six?” WTF?

I agree with you there. I was surprised that it wasn’t on the list too.
“Officer Krupke , I have a revolver gene on my DNAs!”
No revolver is more beautiful than the old pythons with the deep royal blueing. The new ones just aren’t the same.

Do NOT talk about ventilated sight rib above the barrel and show a picture of a non-vent-rib. Kinda impinges on credibility. HINT: TOO MUCH AI !

I’m a holster maker and I can assure everyone that the 686, even in its snub nose configuration is no where near compact. The AI stuff is ridiculous.
