Thanks!
Omg thank u . I was about to fall asleep .
I love how you get straight to the point, I really enjoyed watching this video , its the best
Wow, I'm so deeply touched with the kind words of appreciation :)
This has been the best video so far on overwatering vs underwatering. It was clear, showed the symptoms, and saved my plant haha thank you!
Great video! I'm a newbie succulent collector (indoor apartment). Have trouble diagnosing underwater & overwatering. Until I learn, this is a challenging subject for me. Keep videos coming with do's & dont's for succulents.🌵👍
Thank you😙 for the video at the right time. I did underwatering and now i got to know it by you.
I kept my plant for water therapy😊
I've been searching for a very specific info everywhere : my succulents' leaves are not plump after intense watering (good drainage) from top and then standing in a pot of water for a couple of hours up to 1/3 of their pot. Leaves are much firmer, the top ones more but never plump. The lover ones are still squishy-wrinkle under my fingers (no signs of overwatering). The soil is not damp, seems to allow enough air. But I bought them plump and I can't get there ! And finally I heard in this video "water still wrinkled plant daily/every other day, however, carefully observing". I was afreaid of watering again and again but I might give it a carefull try. Thank you very much - you helped a lot !!
Great!
Great video, thank you 😍
Wonderful!! Thanks for the helpful tip ☺️💗🌸
very informative topic. I learned a lot!

Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Really helpful information specially for beginners. For cutting which don't have roots what should be the watering schedule during summer?
Thank you so much for helpful video, it is so very well explained.

Hello I am a beginner in having succulents in my house . I just discover your channel . Thank you for the very interesting advises you are giving beginners like me . I have a succulent plant the leaves became thin and wrinkled and they fall down even without touching them . Please let me have your advise how to save this succulent . I live in Europe and in winter the house are heated as you know. Can you please tell me if succulents will not suffer with the heater and how I can take care of them during winter.
Many thanks for your reply

It will be great if you make a video about “Mistletoe cactus” which is also a kind of succulent plant.
Thank you! This was super educational!
You're so welcome!
Thnk u..now i know the difference..
would leaves with the start of rot can be still used in propagating??
Very useful information, thanks!
thank you for watching!
Ang galing ng video! It is very well explained and very good presentation of images. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I am learning, as well. 😉👍🏼🌵☕️
Hi cactus caffeine..I one of your subscriber. Please i need to know about how to watering cacti because i killed bunch of my cacti and i am beginner about cacti and succulent.. This video help me alot.. Please make a video like this about cacti..
Great video, thank you!!
Glad it helped!
I have a situation, Im a begginer with succulents, and I just recently bought my first babies and transfered them to a pot. Also started to propagate, when I was spritzing my propagation leaves with water, some water went to my newly repotted succulent and since then it rapidly lost its leaves to the point that only 4-5 leaves are left at the top and the bottom completely bare. I asked my seller what to do and she said to just wait it out because its adapting to the new environment, but I'm worried and I don't know what to do.
This is simple explanation but very easy to understand. Thanks :-)
Glad you think so!
Thanks this is very good video
Thank you :)
Your videos is very helpful 😊. I hope you will upload a video on how to take care of Chinese cabbage thankyou! And Godbless! 😊😊
Hi Edrian, thanks for watching and taking time to comment :) I will have that on my list, thanks for the video idea

Hi San Diego Tropical Garden, thanks for watching! We are glad to know you enjoy our videos :) In case you have any feedbacks and suggestions, we are open on that... Happy gardening!
nice
I buy my succulents uprooted online. I am sure some of them come IN over watered because the leaves starts to fall, leaves turn yellow, even befor they are air dried and potted. Can you recommend what to do befor potting them. Thank you. I am a beginner and your video is a great help. Thank you.
Hi Carmen, its best to airdry them for a week of 2 depending how severe. Overwatered succulents might die though but just save healthy parts and air dry them...
Thank you for good tips, except checking top 1 to 2 inch can be decieving because bottom half to 3/4 can still be wet. I think better use toothpick and if it comes out dry water
Hi nc, thanks for watching and for the comment! What you are saying about 1-2 inches is part of all mentioned situations before watering. Ill explain more. There's no way you can overwater when the leaves get a little thin, this means the roots cant reach the water below 3/4 you mentioned that might still wet or the plant is not gettin enough water or the soil is totally dry now. Either way, these are a good indication to water your succulents. There's also a little chance that the 3/4 is still wet when you use a fast draining soil and full sun and provided a small pot is used. It is very well tested in my experience thought... but things might be different in your area so its also great to improvise if thats your case :)
Wonderful information! Over watering signs are either yellow, falling or rotten leaves and stem. Under watering signs are thin or wrinkled leaves and they don't fall too. Am I right?
Yes, you are right :)
@@succulentsforbeginners I watered my succulent a weak ago and waited for the soil to completely dry out. It was fine yesterday untill I watered it this morning and came to check on it a few hours later and to my shock, every leaf was laying flat on the surface. What went wrong?
Don't forget squishy and transparent and watery when you over water
Hi! Great video. I have a question. My succulent's base leaf looks wrinkled but also fell off when i touched it. So is it underwatered or overwatered? HELP MEE
if it's squishy then its overwatered even though its wrinkled, thanks for watching!
my succulent is overwatered but it also has dried leaves? is it normal, or is it because i water them not directly to the soil but on the plant itself
Straight to the point and very informative! Subscribed!
thanks for the subscription :)
How do you get the bottom drooping leaves of an Echveria to 👆point upwards just like it's top leaves?
Expose to more sun. It will make the leaves go upward. But you need to slowly introduce it to avoid sunburn
Thank you for your time, efforts taken to reply to me 🙏
Your advice really matters.
Hai... My succulent got over watered so I dried its soil and planted again .. but after that it showed wrinkled leaves.. so I poured little water... Now it's still wrinkled but the leaves are turning yellow... What should I do????
Useful video 👍🏻What’s the plant name at 3:40 thanks!
stone crop sedum family I think, thanks for watching :)
Really helpful. I needed visuals.
thank you :) more videos coming!
My hen and chicks had brown crusty leaves. Is that from underwatering or too much sun?
sounds like too much sun :)
Hello. I'm confused if my succulent is over or underwatered because it is wrinkled at the same time yellow leaves😊🤭 please help me! Thank u so much
Could you explain about crasula?
crassula have the same signs when it comes to over or underwatering
I don't know why jade leave not strong and it fall.
@@user-lm8nf9eb5s they could be overwatered thats why they fall.
Help. My succulent got all black on the top. Overwatering? Sunburn?
if its squishy then in could be overwatering. If not yes it could be sunburn. Please try to observe more until you can draw a conclusion which is the cause... Thank you for watching!
my succulent plant is starting to get black, is it underwater or overwatered? I just bought it 2 weeks ago, the first week I was pretty sure I overwatered it because the leaves is stared to falling and I decided to stop watering it for 3 days and now it looks like it is about to die, I sometimes forgot to put it under a sunlight,It always in my room
By the sound of that it could be overwatered
How about for cactus like gymnocalysium?
Hi Dear Diary, same principle goes. Yellow means overwayered. Wrinkles means underwatered. We dont want overwatering. Its better to underwater because its easier to save :)
Thank you for the answer! I am just a beginner so I want to knwo the basics for raising succulents. I can't promise but I will ask more questions from you and comment in every posts you have ifnever I don't understand something. Thank you for responding to my questions. GODbless!!! 💕💕💕💕
@@jaemeecstr9535 thank you :)
Why my Echveria succulent leaf is shaking like it will fall ?
if the leaves look healthy, it might be a sign of growth or some pets or animals touched it
Halfway through switched to 2x😅
Great information though 👍
My plant shows signs of underwatering but it doesnt come back after watering, could that bee because of too much sun?
Please give it more time to recover...
@@succulentsforbeginners I repotted it 10 days ago in new soil mix with perlite, and got a chance to inspect the roots. They all were brown, dry and it only had 1 white root left. Dont know if it was from dry sandy soil or too frequent watering. It was growing in south window and the spring sun hit it really hard so I moved it to a window that doesnt get sun at all.
Just 20 minutes ago i decided to check the roots again so I could act fast if the stem starts to rot so I dug it out the soil and the roots all are covered with a lot of new white feeder roots so thats a big relief. Because that is my biggest bonsai type jade :)
What about signs in cactus, like Puntia Angel Wings
Hi nc thanks for watching. They have the same signs except that most cactus dont have leaves to fall but all other stuff are pretty much the same
what specific types of succulent was the over watered one? (the yellowish rose like type, not the mushy one) i have a succulent like that but idk how to take care of it since all of them have different types of needs. thankyou! have a good day
it is rose cabbage :)
Does this also apply in cactuses? When smushy?
Yes, it does. But sometimes cactus can be more deceiving. They could look as if the damage is just small but its the opposite inside the cactus
@@succulentsforbeginners : Yes, cacti often rot from the inside-out so they look fine externally (although they may feel "spongey"). By the time you notice the rot it is often too late.
Happy reply me but my banana succulent have a smooth leaves soft and wringkled leaves
it could be overwatered. But banana succulent leave's are easy to fall
👍
my leaves are wrinkled but feel mushy and are droopy. what should I do?
If it's mushy then it is overwatered. The last remedy is to cut every part that is mushy, air dry it for a week and see if it survives. If the rot is sever, there might be a very small chance of survival
My. Sacculants,. Leaves are opening so quickly,.. N the most are becoming green, do. I have to worry, about them., or everything is okay, n I don't need to worry?
I don't think you need to worry at this stage. Maybe they are getting less sun than before. opening and leaves turning back to green are signs they are not getting as much sun as before :)
@@succulentsforbeginners
Thank you so so much, for ur concern, u guys are simply awsome,. I may u all have more more more success, in ur future,
Is there any option here, where I can send u the picx of my sacculants, so then it will b, more convenient for u, to guide me in correct way,.?
@@succulentsforbeginners
Actually, here in pakistan, sacculants are so expensive, n I spent my lots of money, on them,. I just don't want to loose any one of them.,.,
@@ashfeerbutt4859 if the leaves are becoming green and they are opening, this means they are receiving lesser sun exposure than before. This actually nothing to worry about :)
@@succulentsforbeginners
They are very thin now, as they ware quite thick, n the edge of the leaves are cruel,,
N wrinkles on it
I did water tharapy, still 2 of them are in water, just coz I want them to be happy, n healthy, is there any majic thing, which I just do n they become, full of health, plzzz help me out, I might sounds lil irritating, n I'm. Sorry for that, I'm asking things again n again, just bcoz of them
I had overwatered my succelents.... oh.well... try again. 😍
Yes, part of the learning process :)
underwatering won't kill the plant (unless u don't water it for a few months).
best method: wait till it has sign of underwatering(ie, thin leaf or 'non-stiff' leaf), then water the plant, but not everyday as mentioned in the video.
Thank you for your input, much appreciated. We all have different styles and all works. In my own experience i water everyday for underwatered succulents and works for me. I have an upcoming video where underwatered cactus is dipped in water until the wrinkles are gone. This also works for me and is more rigid than just watering everyday
Please choose the method that best works for you :)
Please have a look at our latest videos and would love to hear yout input on it aswell : ua-cam.com/video/VYMcw7kCV38/v-deo.html
@@succulentsforbeginners i guess it gotto do with how much sun you are giving your succulents. experts already mentioned that top reason why succulent dies = over-watering.
@@spaideman7850 yup! :) have you seen our latest video? Any inputs there?
Hey i need help. Please can you help me i dont know what happen to my succulent. 😭😭😭 It gives me stress everyday
Im a begginer off this.
Hi babe bongalon! Number one mistake of most beginners is overwatering. So by not watering your succulents in short intervals, you can save them. We have lots of videos for beginners here. Please watch what interest you and gain knowledge :)
Hi i wasnt able to water my succulent for 6 days the leaves are thin and yellow it's a sign of underwatering right?
@@ravechel2831 hi, its a little confusing. Yellowing is a sign of overwatering. And thin leaves is a sign of underwatering. If unsure its better to observe more to make sure its not overwatered. 6days wont make the leaves very thin so it might be overwatered overwatered.... if you have falling leaves and squishy leaves in the next couple of days then for sure its overwatered
I just can’t tell if mine’s overwatered or under-watered it first turned yellow and mushy but not transparent then turned brown
if it turned mushy and yellow then it's also overwatered :)
Hi mam
My bergeranthus succulent has become soft
1st I was over watered that plant
But I dried out completely before 1week
Until 2day I didn't water it (1Week happened)
Now it is softy what should I do to become hard
Please help me mam 🙏❤️
try to cut out the soft parts and just leave the healthy parts. Otherwise it could be too late...
What is the sign of low light?
Sloppy leaves if it just starting and etiolation for prolonged low light condition
Does anybody know the name of the plant they used for the thumbnail? I'm having trouble with identifying my succulent and i think it's the one
I need that too!! The closest I can get to that is Sedum Praealtum but I'm still not sure
what if it is soft, yellow but also wrinkled? 😟
Overwatered
Next time, it may be good to remove the music, as it is too loud, unnecessary, and makes it difficult to understand what is being said. Also, the voice should be better recorded, as it is currently quite remote and noisy. Thanks.
thank you for the feedback. We have newer videos with lesser music and better voice over. We would like to get your feedback on those please :)
Please help me😩 Brought home a beautiful purple Echeveria from nursery. Since then haven't watered it for 15days straight. Coz It's winter. Still all it's leaves fell out like u explained for overwatered ones...😭😭😭 Why?
it might be overwatered when you bought them. The option is not to water until you can see wrinkles in the leaves and the soil is totally dry, It should also be indoors as it might not survive the cold. They still need a good light source if the sun don't show, you can use grow light or a bright indoor light
@@succulentsforbeginnersthank you so much for your help and reply😊🤗❤️
i looked at my plant and saw it had signs of me over watering and im now having a mental breakdown brb
What you can do for mild cases is to uproot them and airdry for 1 week or so until they are totally dry and sign of overwatering is gone, then replant. For advance cases, just cut the healthy part and propagate it. If all are mushy, it might have a little or no chance to survive
I FEEL SLEEPY LISTENING
I plucked off my succulent's underwatered leaves thinking they've overwatered 😭😭
Hi Felix, it's ok, they will grow more leaves
oh no ,i over watering mine huhuhu 😫😫😫
