You sound like dog water

I think my mechanic pulled one over on me. 07 4runner he said the differential was bad. I thought I heard howling, but wasn't sure it if was the AT tires or the rear dif. And… $4k later I have a new rear dif and I still hear howling. He claimed the howling was better but I feel it was the tires all along.
Did you change the tires
If the sound comes and goes at different speeds I would surmise that it was not the tires as if it were the tires the sound would be constant. Just my opinion.🤔
When mine wore out I just put sawdust in there it makes worn out gears run smooth as silk for a few days
lol, good luck with that lasting. i rather have a noisy differential with proper lube.
Are you the father from Matilda, lol😂
Same thought but Matilda's dad said it only last a few miles, id trust that more as he is a dealer 😉@@kevinberger801
I'm sure Matilda would disagree 😂😂😂
Dad you're a cheat
Mine is grinding and makes it sound kind of like an airplane taking off. I have a Chevy avalanche 2012. For some reason it mostly only does it as a turn left like slight turning left. Does that make any sense? My friend and I unfortunately already replaced the wheel bearing and the driver side half driveshaft. Neither one of the solve the problem. Help
Have you found the fix yet? I also replaced bearings and it didn't stop the noise. Did you try replacing the fluid as he said? Or the differential?
Its the fluid differential had to replace my whole differential due to metal shavings found inside
I have the same problem s10
So what does it mean if I hear a loud low when I take off and a metal grind at about 130 decibels when you try moving what so ever
This one TIME at band CAMP
My car is awd and spins anytime it rains I could go 5mph from a light with brand new tires and it spins out mechanic said it could be low fluid in my differential or my transfer case is this true
Symptoms of a bad differential- it has dana stamped on it 😊
They say mine is bad but it’s only at slow turns. It’s a groaning noise
Might be a wheel bearing if it’s during turns
@@gagevieu3254 May be just low and or old fluid I noticed my diff was making noises and just went and removed the diff cover and found that the fluid was low and dirty and found no metal pieces or shavings cleaned the inside and cleaned and replaced the diff cover with a new gasket and fluid and drove it 80 miles round trip and no issues. try that at first
Yeah same just replaced the whole differential
It's mostly your bearing in the the main case mine is doing the same thing
@@gagevieu3254 I hope that’s what mine is. Mine makes that growling howling noise when turning and stepping on the gas, but not going fast at all.
2003 Mercury - no leaks - changed the fluid - but still hums when making a right turn at low speeds - not left - just right-
What is that???
My mechanic says - just change the fluid again- sometimes the first change may not do the trick.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Grand marquis?
Marauder
@@QuantumOfSolace1bro I JUST got the same issue on my marauder 😢
I only have 36000 miles on mine - and it doesn’t start to do it right away - but after driving a bit it starts doing it! Only on when turning right.
Let me know if anyone has an answer!
@@QuantumOfSolace1 wheel bearing
Thank you
I jus was leaving out my driveway and heard a noise when I started to turn and boom it was ova cld this be an cv axle problem
❤❤❤
Mine goes clunk sometimes when turning going slow (or even when not turning) but its ok on highway speeds or anything over 20mph, anyone?
Mine is doing the same thing. C*unking when I back up and turn.
My Mustang is doing the same thing anyone know what’s wrong?
@@Michuy1 i looked under my car and seems like the diff mount bushing is shot, not sure if thats whats causing it though
mine to sometimes I don't hear it sometimes I do well not clunk but roaring
His voice is so calming lol
Um I guess if you think so then alrighty. To each his own I suppose

how to control over heating issue Front axle
To control overheating in the front axle, check fluid levels and inspect for leaks or damaged components.
@@easyautofix no, im working on Concept design, i need idea for cool a oil in Front axle. without radiator and Design Change - is this possible to cool the oil through electrodes "Like Peltier Effect ". if it is available please let me know about electrodes
Mine makes the noise on the highway but only when i hit the gas. If I coast the sound stops
Me too still cant find out the problem
So this isn't the diff then?
After research, it is definitely the rear diff
@savagestrikefishing4695 .........so it needed oil? Did you find that it was low?
Just bought a diff from eBay , it has no oil he says he drains them all for shipping... My question is when I rotate the main shaft the 2 for the wheels turn but I am able to stop them just with my hands as the main is still rotating.... Wouldn't that mean the cars not going anywhere if it was installed? .. is this bad😮
Sounds like you have an open differential. One wheel should rotate if the other wheel is stopped
Can you take it out of a 2013 Ford Edge sport awd and still drive the vehicle like a front wheel drive?
No…..
I was quoted 2000$ to replace rear diff fro a 2014 nissan xterra, with no option for a new or rebuilt, only used... does this sound right?
I was quoted about 2.4k for the rebuild. I declined it. I can buy a diff for about 1.6 ish k maybe a little less and do it in a day and not have to take time off of work for having no vehicle. Or I can put the parts for 800-1000 and learn myself
For 2012 tacoma
Mine is clunking in forward and reverse... Just replace rear motor mount.. That wasn't the problem either..
If you hear howling sounds from underneath your car you need to run😂. do not get under the car and check it out
The inflection at the end of your sentences is going to give me nightmares.
I didnt hear to change this fluid on the cars
Iam trying to figure out if its my differential or my cv axles. I have a 2007 honda crv the car runs smooth straight when i make a right turn or reverse turning it makes a loud clunking noise
That’s my car too
Its CV axle.
CV axle. It's a common Honda issue.
Its the cv axle
I changed mine for that same reason and now I’m hear looking up why my car makes a grinding sound😂
so all above
I changed my crv differential oil yesterday at 19k. It came out almost black. Is this normal the car is almost new.
Yes completely normal, for first flush as it needs to break in from factory. More changes lightin the color.
i gotta do mine. its at 120k. never changed oil before
2016 rav 4 Lol
@@cloudchaser9951 😳😳😳
For honda rear diffs, it's best to change them early for whatever reason. The onboard computer on modern acuras often recommends rear diff service at as early as 7k miles believe it or not
I thought the problem was the calipers
Mine only howls during a full moon😅
Well I actually used to be a werewolf but I'm not one nooooooooooow
Mine just exploded
Never heard of anyone changing diff oil ever. You add to it if anything, shouldnt be a reason unless ofcouse youre replacing bearings.
Or a replacing a failed gasket
The heat causes it to lose viscosity. That's why it needs to be changed. You think it's "low" but it's really just used up so it's thinner
@@seinordavethomas 373,xxx rear end hasnt been tore appart once, doesnt make noise or anything. Never had rear end issues with anything Ive had.
