Wow. I had no idea the animator was there, and what it could do. I can see a use for this in real estate - take a photo of a room (on a timer to get out of the picture) and then animate it so that the viewer sees a complete tour of the room. Thanks for documenting this!
Great video, just adding one important detail: Photo Animation ONLY can be exported for those project were created with original insp files. If you already converted the insp image to a 360 jpg file, you can reimport this jpg 360 footage, you can animate it but YOU CAN NOT EXPORT the animation, so this function is only valid for new footages that you will take!
Indeed. But at least Studio2023 v4.6.6 gives a metadata related message if you try to export it. Currently the only way for already stitched 360° jpg would be to use your favorite screenrecorder while Studio2023 plays the animation in full screen mode.
Hi I’ve just come across your video, I’ve recently gotten into Insta360, I downloaded the studio version for Mac but my studio looks nothing like yours am I missing something?
Well, there might be differences in the GUI between Windows version - which I use - and the MacOS version. Sorry I can't check that because I use a Windows based system. But basically they should provide the same options and features. One thing I do before editing is to enable the "Stitching panel" at the right side by using the top menu => Window, enabling Stitching Panel there. Otherwise opening that will reduce the content panel at the left side. By enabling it via the menu you have it open all the time until no content is longer in the content panel.
Thanks Philipp for the tutorial. I have couple of questions here Q 1: How can we add the cool custom-preset layer in between of the reframed 360-video and GPS stats like you have done Q 2: Is there a way to add GPS stats if we choose to use PremierePro for reframing 360 videos Hope I could make it clear
Q1.. I hope I understand you correctly... do you mean how to see the content list, reframe preview and the GPS stats panel at the same time? If that is your question... you have to use the normal menu in Studio2023. Go to "Window", "Stitching panel". (ua-cam.com/video/NA3fhlVzZy4/v-deo.html) By that you can have all three parts of Studio2023 shown at the same time. Using the icons to open the stitching panel will cause the Content panel to be closed. Unfortunately there is no way to save that window layout as preset for the next start. Q2... Yes, but you can't do it based on Insta360 tools (at the moment). To do that you will need to use "Telemetry Overlay". It's a payed tool which can read the GPS data of the insv file and create overlays by that, it's also a way more flexible in tweaking the dynamic of the elements and much more. The point is, it allows you to export not only a reframed or 360° video with GPS based overlays, but also to only export the overlay elements as MOV files with transparency. You can then add those as layer into PremierPro. At best the imported video and those overlays are based on the same length / clip and you trim both in PremierePro. Otherwise you would need to trim the overlay mov so they fit to your video clip.
Please could someone enlighten me? I am running windows 10 plus Insta360 Studio 4.6.6. I load a 360 photo (.INSP), click on Animate at the top, and it "plays" but nothing changes. There are no Pivot points in the timeline. It does indicate a 30-second time length, The camera is an X3 with latest firmware. Is animation reserved for another model? Thanks in advance.
You have to set those keyframes / pivot points by yourself. Please note 07:24 in the video. Other than the app Studio2023 v4.6.6 has no predefined sets of motions which can be selected. Compared to the app it's like loading an image into a Story and then add keyframes. I tend to set one keyframe at the very start, then go to the time where you want the next keyframe, change the view direction and klick that (+) icon next to the timeline-zoom-slider. And no, as long as you use an insp image you can use the "Animate". It's not bound to a specific camera model.
Now I see at once what I was missing. There are no scenario buttons, thus nothing was edited to be ‘Play’ed. It does allow me to edit a ‘still’ photo anyway I choose to, then export and share. Thanks.

@@pk360de thank you for the help it’s very much appreciated once I get back to my MacBook I’ll have a better look at it. Keep up the amazing videos 👏🏾
