Hi great video and great explain!! I cannot find any info on this, do you know if Insta360 2021 or 2022 is fully compatible with apple silicon M1 Max? Thanks lot!!!
Do you think that if you mentioned the computer model or tablet model you’re using for these instructions fight in the beginning, that it would attract those particular users as the commands you speak of are then the ones we can find? If I’m using the iPad Pro M1 12.9” and your using MacBooks I cannot relate somehow… thx for your patience!
Hi, love your channel. What laptop should I get that's stable enough to use insta360 studio. All my life I've been using my phone. My kids laptop isn't powerful enough. I'm looking for a laptop that's not overly expensive. Thanks.
I use desktop now but used to use an hp omen gaming laptop but that was £1200. You are best to pit this question on the insta360 Facebook group as there will be a lot of people on there thst use laptops. You may find one for £500 that’s fast enough I’m not sure.
I use huawei 14 inch matebook its around 1300 singapore dollars at my country
Hi Richard...love your content. I wish there was a way to rename my insta360 files in the phone app so I can remember which videos are what. I like to create stories and I'll select numerous files for a story board but since they're named in sequential number order I spend too much time scrubbing through them to remember which "shot" each one was intended to be. Is there a way to fix this? In the computer editor, of course, you can rename the files whatever... Thanks and keep up the great content!
Thanks for your comment. There’s not a way to do this unfortunately. Hopefully if owners keep asking for it maybe insta will make a new feature.
Nice video, I learned a few things! Thank you. In the latest version for desktop (4.6.5), the Direction Lock now flips the camera angle to 0°, default front facing view when skipping ahead or sliding the view on the timeline. Does it do this on the Android version? Or is still as you show at 12:31 ?
I find this useless and irritating but their Tech support said, "After our checking, selecting the direction lock will change the video angle of view to the camera front angle of view, which is the software default. If you want to fix the angle of view you want, you can achieve this by adding keyframes."
Thanks again

Thank you! Watched until I found out how to define the keyframe of my video - it was running, after exported, point to a random spot instead of what I wanted to.
Thanks for the video. Can't we make a project from several edited clips on the Insta360 Studio 2022?
You can create several clips in insta studio but can’t join clips together to make one video
Question... do you have a video explaining how to edit and publish a 360 video. Not a VR were you need vr glasses but were you can move your mobiele telefoon to look around and not just an mp4 ??
much thanks for this video, it helps a lot. I have a One R and do a lot of time lapse, so much fotos and less videos. But now I know how to easily edit videos. Big Thanks! 🤩
Are there any pros and cons of using the desktop versus the phone app? The great video tutorial!
The phone app allows you to do a lot more with your files, effects, add music, join clips etc
Thank you, i learned a lot
Very good and informative video. Well done sir. Just got the x3 for my kayak UA-cam videos. And you’ve hit the basics out of the park my man!
Thanks for the comment, much appreciated - glad the video helped 👍
Thanks Rich!
Would you please do a tutorial on the latest version of the iOS app for Insta360 One X2? My desktop is a Dell Latitude 2-in-1, but I have an iPad Air 4, that should suffice for the job....
thank you

Thanks for the video. I tried to find where to change photo size from 16x9 to 9x16 but can't find it in the Studio. Is it not available in the software? Thank you
No for some reason it isn’t for photos
how to horizon lock insta360 x3 during editing, like in the gopro max?
Big thanks
Many thanks for taking your time to make this tutorial. I have one question regarding the export resolution, does it help exporting in 4k ? I thought the native resolution would be around 1080P for reframe videos.
I need to do a side by side comparison on a big screen as it's hard to tell on mobile - the studio software must upscale in some way because the output is restricted by the original 5.7k. I always export at 4k using prores but some viewers still say the quality is not very good. You can export at a higher resolution than 1080 using the app if you export via the story editor - I think it's 1440p.
Very good instruction on using the Studio software. I must be missing something though. Where do I go to download the Studio v4 program? Just beginning using the X3 and I am excited to start creating for our channel.
If you go to Insta360.com and look under the downloads tab at the top
Brilliant, Cheers Mate
Thanks for this video.
good primer Rich!
Thanks Rich for details video. I am facing issue while exporting reframed video doesn't exported. My setting as per yours. But then file size show 0.00KB. What is possible error / mistake I am making. I will write email too..... with all details and images of My setting. Pl help. Thanks
I replied to your email 👍
Hello, is it possible to edit those videos via Insta360-Studio, which are not shot via any Insta360 camera? Example, if any video is shot via mobile, can I edit those via Insta360-Studio?
No it’s not possible - check out this video though which shows another free software ua-cam.com/video/6KD-0JhMiSk/v-deo.html
Can you export at more than 30fps? (no slo-mo or anything)
Ty!
Adjust the speed of the clip on the time line to create the slow motion - so for a clip shot at 120 frames for example reduce to 1/4 speed. The slow motion effect will occur after export.
Thanks for the video, I am a very slow learner and will need some one on one help which I am willing to pay for. Do you offer such a service or could you point me in contact with someone who does?
Hi Richard, due to lack of time this isn’t something I offer but if there is a specific thing you need help with then drop me an email to hello@eatsleep360.com
hen i try to import the software from the camera into the studio app on my desktop, it shows up. But if I disconnect my camera from the computer, NONE of the videos are there anymore. They will only appear in studio if i keep the camera connected, which if I do that for a long time will cause the camera to overheat. Are you experiencing that issue? And why wont my videos import and stay without the camera staying connected to the computer?
Take the memory card out and transfer them to your computer - you can then import them from the computer instead of your camera. This way you have an immediate backup on your computer as well and still have the memory card.
@@EatSleep360 OK, I will try that. Thank you!
Hi and thank you for this video! I'm rather confused and getting slightly exasperated! I've downloaded the Insta360 studio to my Macbook Air 2x and they both don't seem to be 'complete', I'm missing both of the icons at the top of the display screen (where the video you are working on appears) as well as at least 1/2 of the icons for editing the videos on the right side. I can basically do nothing but play the video with it the way it is. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong or missing? thanks!
I’m not sure if the Mac version is different - maybe take a screenshot and post it on the Insta360 Facebook group or send it to Insta360. Also make sure it’s the latest version. Sorry I can’t be of more help
I have the latest version of insta360 studio but seem to be missing loads of options, i only have 3 on the right-hand bar and I'm missing 2 of the buttons at the bottom by the timelapse button, am i missing some software or something?
thanks
Some of the buttons only appear when you import a file and also you have to be on reframe not on 360 mode. You can toggle this in the centre top of the screen - I can’t think what else it could be.
Hi Rich, got an issue with my X2 : view keeps slowly drifting from one side to another...I suspect it happens for lack of gyro calibration...if that is the real problem, is there anyway I can save the already taken footage? I was mostly interested in creating hyperlapses and so far it has been a nightmare to create smooth direction transitioning videos. I have to set lots of keyframes and still the result is ugly... any possible solution by using either the app, insta studio or Final cut pro? thanks
I had the same issue a while back and the easiest way to save it is to edit using viewfinder mode or snap wizard mode because you are in total control of where the camera is pointing and can correct the drift. Try it sat on a spinning chair. There’s a video on my channel on these edit techniques. Hope this helps.
@@EatSleep360 yeah...seems the best option. The footage I wanted to work on is no longer on the SD card. As far as you know, is it possible to move it back from hard disk to SD card and and X2 read it properly, allowing for editing through app? Thank you :)
Hi im a little confused maybe its a simple answer for u say your filming on a bike and u set a key frame at the start for where u want have it facing then say 30 seconds later u want to switch the camera to be facing u filming u how do u get it to instantly change to u and not have it slowly transition to face u I feel so stupid asking this question. If u have a key frame at the start then set another 1 30 seconds later and have it facing u isn't it slowly going to change to that view facing u how im confused how u can just instantly switch view to u then after how ever long u want it to just instantly switch back to the other view if that makes sense. Once again im sure it's simple but im slightly confused as when ppl show it they always show it with it slowly transitioning to the other views and not instantly changing.
It’s a very good question - set your first keyframe to facing forwards for example, then 30 sec set the exact same keyframe facing forward but then immediately after that set a keyframe facing you and this will give you a fast switch. So the workaround is adding that extra keyframe in and this will stop the slow transition. Hope this helps. I won’t see replies to write a new comment if you have another question. Thanks
Thanks for your videos. I’m still learning.
Hello, Thank you for this tutorial. But it's a shame not to have used the latest version of the software (V 4.1.0) wicch has a few more functions for cutting sequences.
I’ll have to try and install it again - it didn’t install so I used 4.0 👍🏼
hi friend, need your help! i can't export video insta360 studio. how to export video ? Thank Rocky from Bangladesh.
Select the large yellow icon in bottom right hand corner or select file at the top and then export
exported file complete but
File only 665 kb
does not make over video full length.
Could you briefly explain how to split one long video into two pieces. For example. I have a 5 minute video. I was 45 seconds from the beginning, and 45 seconds further along. But I do not need the rest. Thanks!
You can only trim the beginning and end of the entire clip so if you want two clips you will need to trim it and export it and then reset it and trim and export again for the second clip
Hi... can i edit 360 videos in video proc vlogger app
No just reframed videos - check out the video here ua-cam.com/video/6KD-0JhMiSk/v-deo.html
@@EatSleep360 thank you..... ♥
I upload a 360 4k video in youtube but it showing very poor quality iam so sad what can i do can you help me

Hello, how do you save it as the way it was edited? I tried saving it but it was a flat file or just 360. It's not same as edit to go in the mobile app. Do you have a content for this? Thank you.
You have to make sure at the top you are on reframed and not 360, this should be the default page - then you should be able to just export
Can you open any 360 cameras 360 video in insta360 studio?
No just insta cameras
You've missed first important step. How to get files into PC ? Obviously I can pull out the card and copy traditional way, but I was hoping to transfer through USB-C cable. I connected the CAM and I do not see it in the fiel explorer. Not sure why (as I hear some somund on CAM when conecting) but not on PC.
I have been wondering the same thing. I attach my Go 2 to my laptop via the cable…..but then what? I was expecting an Insta Go 2 icon to appear on the desktop..but I don’t see it.
Is there any way to change the angle of view of 360 video, not flat?
Not in this software - I think it’s fixed
@@EatSleep360 Any info about soft making that change?
I have 3 files for each video (Insta360 One X2). What is that third video for?
You have video files and LRV files which are lower resolution files - maybe these are the third files. You just need to open the two files with the same number in studio or just import them all and the software will deal with it
@@EatSleep360 Yes. I did just that. Just wondered. It automatically stitched those together in the app.
Where can I download the 22 ???
I am a complete beginner with video editing. I have an Insta360 ONRE RS with the standard 4K boost lens. I do not have the 360 lens module (at least not at this stage). What I'm looking for is a n Insta360 STUDIO tutorial that deals specifically with standard footage as opposed to 360 footage. Every tutorial I've found so far concentrates only on editing 360 footage. Can anyone point me to a tutorial that deals specifically with single lens footage? Thanks.
Unfortunately the studio software is not very good for standard camera editing as you can only trim the start and finish - it’s very limited. I am working on an editing course which will include standard camera editing as well as 360. You can sign up to my free newsletter to get updates on this eatsleep360.ck.page/
Why is there no option of FOV - wide, linear etc?
Once you’ve added a keyframe you can use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out from narrow to super wide or select the icons shown in the video e.g natural view etc
Thanks man. May I know what camera was used to capture the sample videos? X2/go2/....?
Couple of really complicated questions:
1. How does one play the whole bloody video at normal 1x speed?
2. How does one play whole video at normal 1x speed with normal SOUND?
These are super complicated questions, since not a single tutorial ever mentions them.
The video should play in normal speed if it was shot in normal video mode. If you are finding it is slow then you may have shot in slow motion mode in which case click the lightning bolt and speed it up. If your video is playing too fast you may have shot in time lapse mode or timeshift mode. You won’t be able to correct time lapse but you might be able to change the timeshift using the speed icon and slowing it down. If you can hear the audio then these methods will adjust that as well in theory. Hope this helps.
It pisses me off so fucking bad they go pro does not have a software editing program for their product.
Honestly, the desktop app is kind of trash IMHO. It has far less functionality than the mobile app and on my computer at least (which isn’t a bad one) it’s slow as molasses when editing. It should at least mirror the functionality of the mobile app. It seems like an afterthought and just so they could put “desktop app” in their marketing.
I agree - I have said this to Insta360 many times. At the very least you should be able to join multiple clips together and add music so you can complete a video properly.
