I was thinking the same thing, I have psoriasis and when I'm really good about not scratching and just washing my hair like I'm supposed to it gets like this but it's still pink not like raw but just new skin

I use to do this on my ex's scalp because he had the same issue but scalp was red irritated and at times bled from the scratching of the dryness. Later on we found out he had psoriasis. This is most like a type of psoriasis. Psoriasis sits on the scalp, in most cases and is caused by an excessive cell turn over of skin cells. To my knowledge. Now I have Seborrheic Dermatitis also called Seborrheic Eczema. That is also caused by a high cell turnover as well as the oil, yeast and fungus on the skin. The reason psoriasis and eczema look so different is because psoriasis sits atop the skin and has a clean scalp underneath. Whereas eczema almost scabs on top of the skin which is why it is red, inflamed and weepy underneath. I have a few patches some bad enough to thin my hair line but not nearly this bad.

This is called “pityriasis amiantacea" from seborrheic dermatitis. I found this on the web. It has to be treated with anti fungal meds etc. you can’t just scrape it off. The scalp underneath is very red and irritated. The hair also falls out. It doesn’t occur all over the head, but in patches. I don’t know if his is phoney or what. Hebphotos I saw didn’t show the build up uniform all over the scalp.
i heard peanut oil works after washing hair. try natural home made stuff from your kitchen like blended aloes, or eggs to wash your hair and give final rinse with any herb water (brew tea bags also can work). worth the try
It is real...the flakes are dry, so dry that they do not stick to the skin. That is why there is no redness. Moist skin and not completely dry flakes can cause skin redness because the flakes are not ready to lift off from the skin ..

That scalp is way to healthy looking underneath all those “scales”. Scales like those would be from either Seborrheic dermatitis or Psoriasis either of which would show in the scalp as inflamed, greasy skin and there would be more scales not yet ready to come off under the scales that are ready to be removed. The scalp wouldn’t look this clean and healthy.

Dandruff shampoos don't work for extreme dandruff. This person needs to change his diet. Keto diet will clear this up. My grandson went on a keto diet, and it completely cleared his dandruff.

It is real...the flakes are dry, so dry that they do not stick to the skin. That is why there is no redness. Moist skin and not completely dry flakes can cause skin redness because the flakes are not ready to lift off from the skin ..
