For example when I try to produce similar sounds like in these exercises to sign high key songs, it sounds shaky and not all that good to listen to. How do I make these sounds more applicable then to singing?
I'm glad you love the exercises! Your questions about application to songs are valid, and singers often run into these issues when singing a song. However, just like every singer is different, singers don't suffer from the same issues. So I would have to work with you in a lesson to know what is happening in your voice and how to help you. @@SpencerWelchVocalStudio but I have a question Tell me which Practices I do to sing like Justin Bieber Because I'm so confuse Please tell me the name of exercises
Everyone is different so there is no guarantee that any one exercise will easily fix a vocal crack. What works for one person might not for the next. Have you tried my video "How to Erase Your Break"? ua-cam.com/video/I_w549666r0/v-deo.html
I can get really high in my head voice on “we” sirens, but something goes wrong when I try to put it to words in a song. It’s no longer pure, it gets breathy and harder to hit those notes. What video should I watch to help with that? Thx!
I don't have videos on UA-cam that cover that, but my course Singing Ignition has videos and live trainings that focus on that: www.singingignition.com
Unfortunately, the vocal world doesn't use standardized terminology, so what one person calls chest belting might be different than what I call it. In the terminology that I use when training singing teachers, I don't lump chesty mix, chest belting, and mix belting as all being the same. What do those terms mean to you?
@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio those terms to me means a very strong sound that sounds like chest or chesty mix or a balanced mix, only way i know how to explain it. Lots of famous singers use these "modes"
Belting is singing a vibrant, brassy sound at a high dynamic. But then within this definition, singers can use their chest voice, mix voice, or head voice to belt. Adele demonstrates chest belt a lot. Bruno Mars and Whitney Houston demonstrate mix belt. And Aretha Franklin and Chaka Khan often demonstrate head belt. From working with singers for 25 years, I don't believe all singers can belt in all of these ways. Different singers have different recovery levels and times, which fluctuate with age and other stages of life. So some singers are able to belt up their chest voice for years until their voice ages and can't handle the stress of it any more.
Hey Spencer! Love your videos. I am wondering, i can't seem to grasp your tone of the nou-nuh and just the nuh. I seem to sound very nasal/like im whining and i feel like i have to try pretty hard to reduce the whinyness, while your tone sounds quite easy and sounds like a nice balance between clean and airy. Any tips perhaps?
Hey I'm glad you're loving the vids! As for your singing, it really depends since everyone is different. I'd have to hear you and work with you in a lesson. Otherwise, I can think of at least 5-7 possible reasons why this might be happening in your voice. Are you male or female?
@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio I am 23 and only recently (since 6 months or so) got the hang of mixed voice. Been working a lot on my mixed voice tonality but i can't yet get it quite right.
Good for you! Mixed voice takes a while to build so be patient with yourself. Remember that even if you have good exercises to practice along to, it's HOW you practice, not just WHAT. Singing along to a video can be challenging since it won't give you feedback to tell you whether the exercise is right for you and whether you should tweak your approach. That's where private lessons or my self-study course come in, but keep trying different approaches to see what works if you choose to go it solo.
also spencer i am still using your workouts and exercises for singing rock and metal music and honestly these have worked the best for me out of any other warm up i've ever tried
@@Treven_Utter Oh amazing! That’s an incredible range. Well that could mean you’re a tenor; however, voice type is more dependent on the colour and the weight of the voice than on range. I’m happy you’re benefiting from my workouts. What would you like to improve in your voice?
@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio i have been working endlessly on my transition range so from F4-C5 to find the perfect balance to where i can belt a note at A4-B4 with a full voice and some rasp. unfortunately my voice is so light that most of the time when i try and sing these notes it comes out airy and not as full as i would like it to be
@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio BUT... with this vocal exercise alone I was able to sing this range to my own desire with no problem at all and transition very smoothly. In fact i did this warm up tonight and I will be recording a cover by the end of the night tonight and my weak transition points will be heavily involved in this cover
If you can't connect your chest voice to head voice like I am in the demonstrations, it's better to flip between chest and head as you ascend and descend than to try to sing every note across the range in ALL chest or ALL head. The idea is that eventually you need to work toward thinning your chest as you ascend and thickening your head voice as you descend until a mix range develops in the middle. Have you tried my less advanced workouts on my channel?
Oh my god I'm trying to brrr and ROFLing myself away :D Just please explain to me why I can't make this sound on the lowest notes, the motor simply won't go where I can otherwise still easily open it with some colour. And in the heights I can reach them with this surprisingly easily (well not the last two) and sharp, but definitely not colourfully or easily with just my plain mouth. It's witchcraft. Witchcraft!
It depends. Everyone starts from a different place with a different amount of skill, natural feel, and bad habits. It's like asking how long does it take to build a muscular body. Some are very close and only need a few months of training, and some will take years.
@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio i have been singing since 2015 and i was singing in chest voice but recently my vocals started to strain and by this i found my mix voice but it is weak and airy can you please tell me how long it will take to make it solid like chest voice

@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio Love your energy, enthusiasm and humour, and of course your many nice and challenging exercises, including your many good advice and input as well, such as where the different voices start and end, as well as trying to work further in the register. As a beginner, it's tough to hear and take in all the notes and follow them when your well-intentioned advice is superimposed on the exercises you want us (me) to perform. I think it has more to do with me and my lack of knowledge related to hearing and concentration throughout the exercise. I can only wish, but it would be great if you could join me (us), or vocally lead through the exercises, as it will be an enlarged/amplified sound of the piano. I feel like this meal is going to continue remain bland til I fully develop those things. Is it ok if I spend a half an hour a day on warmups and exercises daily but only sing 2 or 3 days a week ?
is there any more advanced than this? ;) Thanks for this mate! Its helped me tremendously
Yes, they eventually get really advanced in my program Singing Ignition. This is just the tip of the iceberg. So glad it's helping you! www.singingignition.com
REALLY YOU ARE A VERY GOOD TEACHER ❤️
YOUR WAY OF LEARNING IS VERY GOOD 👍
Thank you! 😃 What style of music do you like to sing?
Pop
Like Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift
@@karandas6398 Oh fun, and you really need your mix voice to be flexible to sing that music 👌
@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio but I have a question
Tell me which Practices I do to sing like Justin Bieber
Because I'm so confuse
Please tell me the name of exercises
@@karandas6398 How old are you and are you male or female?
Coach...i have a crack voice...how im gonna fix my voice..can you give a easy exercise for crack voice... please 🙏🙏🙏
Everyone is different so there is no guarantee that any one exercise will easily fix a vocal crack. What works for one person might not for the next. Have you tried my video "How to Erase Your Break"?
ua-cam.com/video/I_w549666r0/v-deo.html
Amazing as always, why do you do the exercises with a cry or whine sound. Can u put me out my misery and tell me the reason please
Try the exercise in question with and then without the cry and tell me what difference you feel, if any :)
I can get really high in my head voice on “we” sirens, but something goes wrong when I try to put it to words in a song. It’s no longer pure, it gets breathy and harder to hit those notes. What video should I watch to help with that? Thx!
I don't have videos on UA-cam that cover that, but my course Singing Ignition has videos and live trainings that focus on that:

Make a video with a fast runs or something that will make legatto smoother.
YESS i love this! it's really fun , my favourite one
Wonderful! I’m glad.
can you do the last high note part?
You mean the part where the females are singing on their own?
Wow it didn't strained my vocal chords at all
Great to hear!
This is speech level singing workouts correct?
I was a certified Master Teacher of the SLS technique for five years, so I have definitely been influenced by that.

hey, im not sure if i found my mixed voice because it sounds more like chest and it sounds more soft, can you help me?
Sure, I'd be happy to help you if you book a private lesson. You can book here:
www.spencerwelch.com/lessons/book-now/
How old are you?
What about chesty mix and balanced mix work outs and the call register/chest belting/mix belting? Or is it all the same?
Unfortunately, the vocal world doesn't use standardized terminology, so what one person calls chest belting might be different than what I call it. In the terminology that I use when training singing teachers, I don't lump chesty mix, chest belting, and mix belting as all being the same. What do those terms mean to you?
@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio those terms to me means a very strong sound that sounds like chest or chesty mix or a balanced mix, only way i know how to explain it. Lots of famous singers use these "modes"
I'd say the chesty mix is like a controlled yell that's compressed and I'm not sure about the others
@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio gotcha, thank you for answering spencer!
@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio Understandable. Thank you for your answer and I am male.
Ah I see. And how old are you? Has your voice changed recently?
Loved it 😊 thank you 💗
You’re welcome!
Oh YES 😁✊
Glad you liked it. Any particular exercise stand out?
Please share me some tips to sing in whistle register . Please please
Thanks for your suggestion
i made it to Eb6 on the lip trills and was able to sing the rest of the workout. I'm guessing that makes me a tenor lol
also spencer i am still using your workouts and exercises for singing rock and metal music and honestly these have worked the best for me out of any other warm up i've ever tried
(and uploading it to youtube)
can i sing bruno mars key if i warm up this exercise everyday? im tenor
is it ok if i am a male and still keeping up with him when he said laides where you at 😂
Haha, do what you want and can as long as it doesn't irritate or tire your voice
I did it….😊
Yay, good for you!
Mum cry was a bit challenging but nothing was uncomfortable.
Glad it worked out!
Saul Goodman, get out of this body!! 😅😂😂
Thanks for this nice work out !
Hahaha glad you liked it!
lmao is it okay to break when transitioning from chest to head voice or vice versa while practicing this work out?
If you can't connect your chest voice to head voice like I am in the demonstrations, it's better to flip between chest and head as you ascend and descend than to try to sing every note across the range in ALL chest or ALL head. The idea is that eventually you need to work toward thinning your chest as you ascend and thickening your head voice as you descend until a mix range develops in the middle. Have you tried my less advanced workouts on my channel?

I want to hit a4 but it's so high for me
Depending on your voice type, A4 is definitely an advanced note. Work your way up by making sure you mix is well balanced on the notes before the A

Witchcraft!

Indeed, I get sad, when no workout. Indeed.
We'll have to remedy that.
You are Tenor?
Yes, I am a lyric tenor. Most males are some kind of tenor because even a baritone is a variety of tenor.
How much time it takes to get a solid mix voice

Do I have to master the head voice to make the mix voice?
I don't think you need to have head voice mastered, but you should definitely know how to sing in it at least on some exercises. Have you practiced with my head voice workouts?
@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio yes I practiced
Ah fantastic, and did the head voice workouts seem to help you with my mix workouts? It doesn't hurt to start lighter and build up strength slowly.
@@SpencerWelchVocalStudio yeah thanks. Why I can't lip trills with Head voice?
I would have to hear you and work with you in a lesson to know. It's possibly that you are singing breathy in this range. When you do the 1.5 lip trill, do your lips stop bubbling when you get up into your head voice range?

Love your energy, enthusiasm and humour, and of course your many nice and challenging exercises, including your many good advice and input as well, such as where the different voices start and end, as well as trying to work further in the register.
You are Tarzan, with much, much better vocal range, tone and timbre
Thanks for your feedback. When I'm creating videos, I have to consider who my core audience is, and then teach in such a way that will help the most people possible within that audience. So I will take what you say as a beginner under advisement.
On the other hand, many people comment that they like my approach, so it may be a case where you can't please everyone all the time. This video is an advanced workout so maybe some of my other videos will help you more since this one is not targeted at beginners.
