This video and your 130 video have given me the information I need to decide which unit to buy. Not sure why Garmin doesn’t do this for customers. It looks like the 530 has the features that I want.

@@VELOGPSTHEINNERTUBE indeed you are, and UK countryside protection is way better than in Denmark, where field with a single crop on more than 1 square km is no longer a rarity. no hedged, no ponds nothing but agriculture. Perhaps thats why we value aero bikes
Thanks for the video! re Navigation, on a ride if I want to go a different route (say take a shortcut) to the one I've set and deliberately miss out a waypoint will the re-routing always try to force me back to that waypoint or does it realise I've 'passed' that part of the course and continue on to the next waypoint? (hope that makes sense!) Thanks!
Very nice video. One question: Do you switch from datafield to navigation manually or does it do that automatically? I have a 530 for a couple of days, but I can't find it, have to change the views manually? And if automatically, how/where can you set that feature.
It automatically pops up turn alerts as you approach provide you are navigating a course. Select: Menu>Navigation>Courses>Course Options>then toggle 'Turn Guidance' on. Glad you found the video useful

Even drove to the start of the track, but when I miss a pass, it only tells me 'Of Track' but doesn't give a route back to course with street names and directions?

I just got a edge 530 and I cant figure out how to activate the audible turn alert sounds? I found the option for turn by turn navigation on my mobile but I just want the beep that you have in this video to notify me of an upcoming turn. cant find it anywhere

If you are after a camera for recording in the event of an unfortunate incident then have a look at Cycliq's offerings - a couple of people I ride with have them just in case. I ride with a Garmin Varia rear light/radar linked to my 530 as it warns me of approaching cars way before i hear them - Garmin have just launched the varia radar/light with a built in camera so the best of both worlds - have a read of DC Rainmakers review. If you are just after a camera to record pretty pictures on your bike then you really can't beat a go pro as it has excellent stabilisation for lovely smooth footage.

Note: Beware of buying a Garmin 530 because it is a pile of junk, it restarts itself automatically. I contacted the Garmin support team, and they didn't find any solution for me.

Just double checking here but are you actually plotting a course on an online mapping tool such as garmin connect or strava 1st and then uploading to the 530. The 530 does not have the ability to create a course without uploading it unlike the 830 which allows you to plot a course without an online mapping tool (much more like a traditional car gps)

That's what I think should also be in those navigation demonstration videos. How the device will act when you miss the turn.

I don't believe the 530 has on device routing you'd need the more explecive 8 series or 10 series r Egde computers for that

Why would you want it zoomed like the 830, the 530 looks more like the gradient you're climbing whereas the 830 looks more like a 45% incline
The 830 gives more detail about the climb.

You can look back at your ride history and re ride a route you have rode in the past
I feel like I just rode a bike through an episode of Midsomer Murders.
Some lovely villages but I've yet to spot John Nettles or Neil Dudgeon so I'm guessing the locals haven't started killing each other yet 😂
