    I converted my Orbea Rise into a 180mm front/162mm rear travel. Two of these offset bushing help to bring the geo closer to stock and just importantly allow close to stock spacing on the suspension hinges/linkage arm. It's been able to handle big drops and jumps superbly.

    Since it is an excéntric hole, it will rotate as the shock works, wont it?

    What stops the brass offset rotating after installation? Surely with the direction of force acting on the bush from the bolt it will inevitably tend to want to rotate the bush so the offset is furthest away from the shock having the opposite effect of what you want to do. I'm picturing it like the con rod in an engine or steam train drive wheel.

      The bushings are kept in place by the compression forces on the shock. The forces will keep the offset pointing towards the centre of the shock, keeping the shock as short as possible. Thereby maintaining your geometry. Hope that helps! There's loads of info on our site - www.offsetbushings.com/pages/how-they-work

      Ignore my question, i got muddled up with the direction of forces. Of course they go that way.

      Does this reduce the rear travel as the shock is going to be partly compressed

      @@Editbarbers No, the travel does not change as the stroke has not been adjusted.

    With there being so little resistance to insert the bushing (as shown in the video) , do you run the risk of the bushing rotating over time such that you actually get the opposite effect (ie steepening the HTA)?

    • @offsetbushings5182

      Thanks for your question! This video is rather old using some slightly worn DU bushes, so they’ll slide in easier. That aside, compression forces on the shock will keep them in position to shorten the e2e. They won’t rotate round to steepen it, don’t worry!

      I had actually ordered a set and installed it today. Using your DU tool, the installation was quick and very straight forward. Changed my bike HTA from 68 to 67 - exactly what I was hoping for!

    Offset Bushings you can also get a steeper angle with this?

    • @offsetbushings5182
      @offsetbushings5182  4 роки тому +1

      I can't recommend using them like that, they'll want to rotate over time!

    • @abelramos8652

      Offset Bushings how long takes that over the time? I wouldn’t mind readjust it once at week or so, maybe not daily ... how long?

    • @offsetbushings5182
      @offsetbushings5182  4 роки тому +1

      @@abelramos8652 It entirely depends on the suspension setup, how tight everything is and so on. All shock bushings are a wearable item, so as they wear they will rotate more. This is fine for Offset Bushings as they are kept in the intended position by suspension compression, but if you want to use them in the reverse setup then it just won't stay in place.

    My bushing is like 20mm. Al I can find is a 21.8 and 22 with an 8mm bolt hole. Where can I find the right size?

    I puchased a full sus frame with 190 i to i measure, but I had mistakenly bought a rear shock of 184, so I had a gap of 6mm. does offset bushing can fill the gap? What's the best solution?

    • @offsetbushings5182

      The best solution will be sell the shock and purchase a 190mm unfortunately. You can't lengthen a shock with offset bushings, only shorten it.

      En Liri Brass has self lubricating properties which make it an ideal material for bushings. It’s used for industrial bushing purposes in fact because of this. Unlike Steel for example.
