I must have viewed this video 15 times. Took notes. Changed the notes. I think the new descriptive words like “trigger” wire threw me. Then a red wire changing to a white wire. So I decided to just have faith and connect the wires exactly as per the video. To my surprise it worked perfectly. So a huge thank you to the author. My camera works in both reverse and auxiliary. 👍🏼
you really don't need to drill any holes in your car because you could have routed the camera wires to go through the same holes as the hitch wires. In fact, the hitch connector already has a reverse, power and ground signals all available to you right there. You really didn't need to splice it from anywhere else.
Man, i wish you lived close to me because i would just pay you to install a radio and camera in my truck and my sons truck and i also like the clean work you do.
Hi there! I came across your video when I was trying to find out why backup cameras that are advertised for suvs do not have wires long enough to connect to the reverse lamp then up and around the liftgate to the license plate mounted camera. I see that you’ve spliced a white wire, and I believe the video cable as well, but no elaboration on that. Can you please tell me what types of wire I need to extend the video cable connection ( I was going to purchase a male/female RCA extension cable) and the camera power wire so I can actually connect it in my 2009 suburban? I’m not sure why they advertise suv compatibility when you have to research, buy and splice more wires to extend the length. Also I have researched extensively because the one that was in my suburban stopped working and I assumed it was the cheap camera so I bought a new one and had the same result. After a lot of swimming in a sea of wires with an onstar OS-4 and a pioneer avid-8100nex, I discovered the ground and the power to the camera was bad. It was grounded to the reverse lights like you are suggesting, but it completely fried the wire. I saw another video saying NOT to use the reverse light ground because the camera needs its own. I have also seen several backup camera videos where they are replacing bad ground wires that were connected to the reverse lights. Any experience with this?
If i use Metra LC-GMRC-01 Wiring Interface, I will add a back camera that only works when going back، Do you need to connect the Interface with a wire to the fuse box، Or is the interface power enough to make the radio and reverse camera. Also in your explanation, you connected a red wire to the camera at the back of the radio. Does this wire get power from the radio or what? Sorry if there are mistakes in the words because I do not speak English and I try as much as possible to understand the video
Black plug black wire to reverse light black. Red Wire connected to his white to run to the radio accessory. Yellow Video - Black wire went to the radio. Red wire went to Reverse light green. That's how I see it. I watched this guy's video at least 10 times. A bit confusing.
@@ProvoBeastAudio Thank You. What’s interesting is that I have the same vehicle and radio you show in the video. So I either did not connect the wires right or I will do what you suggested. Remove the accessory wire. Thank you so much for helping.
I know how to do this kinda stuff, but what throws me off is, that I bought a harness that’s for the on star and for the door chimes and the SWC the harness has a reverse wire what can I do with that?
wire the reverse from the car to the head unit and the head unit would switch over to the camera when you put the car in reverse. The camera would also get a reverse wire going to it to use as a switch to turn the camera on. In other words, the reverse signal has to go to both the head unit and the camera for it all to work.

Do you have to do anything for the radio to work in the vehicle? Meaning is the oem radio specific to the vehicle requiring a code or software update?
Hey man. Does that USB port at the connect directly to the radio? Do you have link for it?

For anyone wondering about the hitch wiring:
White = ground
Black = 12v switched
Light Green = reverse light signal
@@JesseTheG_ u a real one
Not sure that’s correct. How would you get your video feed into the cab?

How much is the cost for this installation ?
So you were running 2 wires at first then magically had 3 now I need to run another wire for the rca lead?

How did you get the wire from the front door to behind the dash and to the radio?
How do you make the lines turn with steering wheel on backup camera ?

HELP. My LED lights stay on continuously while the engine is running.
You will either need to wire your camera to the reverse lights only (instead of accessory) or you need a different camera without LEDs

Didn't paint the exposed metal on that hole? You must live in the desert... and expect that the truck will stay there as well.
How you going to have cut away moments that exclude valuable steps, in an informational video🤔😒
