Yes, you can travel without lifting off. Just open the planet view and pick a spot.
lol. You are the only sci-fi space crew I have ever seen to not use their scanner when exploring a planet. It will show you the points of interest and let you know if they are a landing pad.
To assign crew members, go to ship (bottom left of the menu wheel).
To assign them at the base, you need to build crew stations in your base. They look like desks so you can set up an office room.
You really need to build a landing pad in your base so that you don't need to walk to your ship. I recommend getting the materials for the large one and then you can modify your ship(s) there instead of having to go to the dealers.
Early on I hijacked a Va'ruun Hymn, good fighter but no cargo capacity. Finally bought a Econohaul II which works nicely for me.
I've been waiting to start a new playthrough until the 5/15 patch arrives. The best way I know to farm ships is to go to a mission board and get a mission to kill a Crimson Ghost, Phantom, or whichever captain. You can even build a mission board at your base so any time you need a ship you can get assigned one there. Generally, you're left alone so you destroy the ships you don't want and take out the engines on the one you want and board it.
I'll try that, thanks!
I thought those were the safes, that's why I made the clip...good find
1. Ditch the laser and ballistic weapons on your ship.
Replace them with particle beams.
The Horizon Defense Disruptors are a good choice.
2. When you're in a star system, look for black triangles adjacent to planets and moons. Those will be either a ship or hostile activity from enemy ships.
Another fire video
Been playing the beta for the upcoming update (which is awesome in so many ways). They fixed the ship landing problem so it works like it did before. You should build a landing pad(preferably large with ship builder) at your outpost. Then you won’t have to hike to your ship.
Keep up the content
Hay Dova! Highly recommend the Kid Stuff perk...you get 4 useful gifts. The last one is great! First one you can grab in your your room. Very few other perks are really worth it as much as this one. The house is a big nope for me...I can never remember where the heck in the Universe it's at😂.
It's a trait, so can only get it upon character creation
Yes, I stated it was a trait. I figure she may do another run through, or role-playing, with a new character. So I told her about the traits. Traits are only taken in character creation, but can be removed any time in game.
I said, perk, so I understand if that was confusing...apologies
I’m having the same issue where ships are not spawning anywhere anymore. Frustrating but it’s the only issue I’ve had except for occasional freezing (Xbox series X)
Ironic that you're looking for a ship to capture, but you willingly pass up multiple opportunities to disable and board a ship in space.
But if you're intent on capturing one on the ground, use your hand scanner. You'll be able to see the ship landing zones from afar.
Just interact with the POIs that you see with your scanner.
I tried capturing those ships in the battles in the first two versions of this episode, and failed each time because the other ships destroyed them too quickly. So I didn't even try in the third attempt. I didn't know you can see the ship landing zones in your scanner. The videos I watched never mentioned it. Thanks!
If you want to capture a ship in space, destroy all the ships you don't want, then disable and board the last one. Fair warning, if you are helping a UC patrol or Freestar patrol fight pirates, they only give you a certain amount of time to capture the pirate ship before they blow it up...
Those safes do look a lot like a breaker box, so no surprise you missed them at first. I usually blow through a facility and kill everyone, then go back through with my scanner and take the highlighted loot.
@@WastelandDovahkiin Fair enough.
Going forward, you might as well do the Mantis quest.
You get a decent ship, and you get a pretty good armor set that's leveled to your character.
And really, the Mantis quest isn't even that long. In fact, calling it a "quest" is overselling it. All you have to do is clear out some Spacers.
To get it started, you need to loot a slate from a Spacer. The Nova Galactic staryard near Earth's moon is a good place to start.
In fact, you'll go there with Sarah as part of the main quest.
@@DreddPirateRoberts Yeah, I got that slate a long time ago. I just didn't do the quest because I watched my husband do it, and so I didn't want to see it again so soon, lol.
