Agreed! But none of them wouldn't last even if they did manage to. The standard in the U.S. & Foreign markets(Aus, NZ, & EU) are too high for them to turn a consistent profit. Which explains for the most part why they gave up developing any ICE cars for any widespread foreign markets. Now that the word is out about how the battery packs in chinese EVs can randomly go into thermal runaway just by sitting there, no one in their right mind in any country would want to own a hazard like a chinese EV. Despite all the instances of thermal runaway domestically in china, they would've never issue any kind of recall, until it happened in Aus., suddenly it was time to for them panic & respond. SerpentZA just posted a video about this recently.

@@danielzhao5471 because they are crap, they are cheap. A lot of people want cheap stuff. With cheap car in the street, it will be dangerous on the roads. Think about a Chinese car in front of you stop all of sudden. Don't you think it affect you as well? Moreover, it is not even a fair competition. Chinese car manufacturers are subsidized by their government. The tariff was imposed to protect the companies from their countries.

In the early part of the 20th century, there were over 200 car manufacturers in the USA. We ended up with 3. China is going the same way.

Not all cvt transmissions are bad but anything built by Jatco transmission are the worse.

@danieldankenbring6522 AMEN to that!! Keep things simple! I'm so lucky that 2 of my 3 old toyotas I own are equipped with M/T's. And the 1 A/T that I have is a basic, old skool 4spd that still shifts buttery smooth even after 245k mi. on the clock. I'm not getting a rid of any of them! I love them each too much to part with them!
I'm sure all those videos of EV fires in China were a great boost to sales. /s
I have yet to see or hear of ev fires on the roads in china. I only see them on UA-cam. I wonder if some yt channels are promoting lies. I know for a fact there are thousands of ICE cars that burn on the road in the USA

I live in an Oregon town of 9000, and only know of 2 EVs in town.
Ich lebe hier in einer Stadt in Österreich mit 220.000 Einwohnern und bei uns gibt es tausende Elektroautos, aber es sind alle Firmenautos, da sie steuerlich gefördert werden. Private kaufen sich auch keine Elektroautos. Bei uns in Europa ist der Strom viel zu teuer. Die EU stellt alles auf Grünen Strom um, also Strom aus Wasserkraft oder Photovoltaik. Der kostet extrem viel Geld. Elektroautos sind in der Anschaffung viel teurer als Verbrenner und kosten dann im Betrieb nochmals mehr als die derzeitigen Autos.
Wer sich bei uns privat ein Elektroauto kauft, muß dafür viel mehr bezahlen als für einen Verbrenner. Na und die EU wundert sich, warum die Umstellung auf Elektroautos nicht schneller geht. Jetzt versuchen sie es mit einem Verbot. Ab 2035 sollen keine neuen Verbrenner mehr zugelassen werden dürfen.........Methoden wie in China.....
I'm surprised with all the EV fires the lawyers haven't chimed in with class action lawsuits, or lawsuits for an EV in a highrise buildings with an underground parking lot. That would be $50M and up. A half dozen lawsuits would bankrupt BYD or Tesla.

BYD makes profit. Another 2-3 companies from CHRL are gaining market share. EV tech is getting better rapidly. Environmental law is getting tough for ICE. Battle will last next 5 years, but the outcome is known: EV are rising, ICE in decline.

USA has already pretty much outlawed Chinese brand EV imports. They won’t be coming to USA any time soon.

I think China will end up only supporting BYD, SAIC, Geely Group and a few others. That way, the remaining companies can get enough money to actually do the R&D for better battery designs and make their vehicles meet all current international safety standards.
The cost of batteries keeps these vehicles from being practical. That and long charge times.
We are to see ev sellings at half price and still they will hard to sell.
