I read somewhere that this was the first time all 3 judges gave a standing ovation. PTX already won the race a long time ago. Now they switched from afterburners to rockets and blasted into outer space.
Scott absolutely slayed this. This former choir nerd was on her feet in her living room applauding after this when I watched it in real time. Excellent reaction! So a few things before you listen to #12 Dog Days Are Over. 1. Twelve is the final performance that counts. After #12 the show opened up the voting to people at home to determine the winner. 2. Scott had no voice the day of the show. They’d been doing the show for weeks doing 2 songs a show plus the group opening number. PTX was spent and dog ass tired. 3. PTX had a disastrous dress rehearsal. They couldn’t get it together, they were off key and Scott’s voice was shot. They resigned themselves to the fact they were going to lose. 4. Mitch was battling a ton of anxiety and stress throughout the run of the show. 5. If you can, listen to/watch it straight through without stopping. The build up is great. 6. If you’ve never heard the original from Florence & the Machine go do that now. 😘 Enjoy!
I think he did all of them on a livestream already, so I think it's too late for him to watch the original first (or to not pause). I could be wrong, though.
This song is my #2 favorite (#7 was my 3rd place choice). First place choice is coming up (#12 - the original, first ever “Mitch-slap”). They’re all good, just depends on the mood I guess. I always wondered if anyone ever followed up on Ben’s birthrate prediction. Great reaction. A new pentaholic is born!
You’ve probably heard this already but we consider Shawn Stockman the first Pentaholic. One of my favorite things is when PTX returned the next season to perform and at the end Shawn ran up and hugged each of them like a proud dad 😂❤❤
I always love the reaction of the other groups when you see them in the background....Think they were teens at this time, ridiculous talent!!! LOL Scott got some soul!!!! You know it's good when the judges got nothin...
This is my favorite of The Sing Off performances. No one else could touch them. I have always wondered if Scott was supposed to grab the mic and start dancing or if he just had to in order to keep from self combusting. Scott could really do some damage to Motown standards. Sir Riffs-a-Lot has soul....
This is absolutely one of the best of their performances. #12 and #7 were fantastic as well. Once they started touring, they brought this song back out but with a twist. They sang to a woman from the audience. Some were cute, some were funny, and then... there's Dena from Chicago. ua-cam.com/video/xK-AG8GaAUw/v-deo.html
In their early tour shows, they pulled a young lady from the audience, sat her down on stage and sang to her. Some of the greatest concert footage ever. You should react to a couple of those. There are 4-5 on UA-cam.
👀❤❤This is it! This is the one! This is the one you've been waiting for or I've been waiting for LOL. My favorite! What else can you say! AVIIII on the base guitar LOL and SCOTT being all kinds of Marvin sexy. Loved it, all of it✌❤😎
I'm a huge Pentaholic! So, anything you post by them I will watch! But I have been thinking lately that there's only one other group, in my lifetime, that I have loved as much as PTX. And that is Fleetwood Mac! The harmonies, the lyrics, the vibe. Each is of course vastly different but if you love harmonies and passion in your music ... then check out Fleetwood Mac!! FYI, start with live concerts from the mid 70's. You have to see them, especially Stevie Nicks to really get the depth!! Luv ya 😊❤
Scott had been the lead singer in a band in high school, tried out for a couple of TV singing shows, including Star Search and American Idol. He won a statewide contest, and put out an album when he was only 14. So he had a lot of experience singing onstage, especially on TV. In the earlier performances, it seemed like he was holding himself back to be part of the group - but not in this one - he just ran with it and it was crazy good! There are 4 more performances, and I'm looking forward to your reaction to each one.
My faves in order... 12, 7, 10, 11, 4 I know most put 10 over 7...but it's KO's easy rider and mimicking the gun, and that hard stop before verse 2 that puts it in 2nd for me. But 12 is undeniably #1 for prob all Pentaholics...11 is fire too...can't wait for those 😊😊😊
And this was when they were just starting out! Dog Days beats this one as my favorite, but only by the tiniest margin. Scott is just a beast in this performance. Loved your reaction! Peace …
This performance and the other group that performed Midnight Train to Georgia were phenomenal that night. For me PTX took it but look at the other performace as well..

Such humble beginnings. 12 years later I watched them in concert in North Carolina with 12,000 of my closest friends. 😂❤
❤❤ yes. Me too
I love that they are just as humble today as they were 12 years ago!
@@cissypentaholicpage864 Totally agree.

Dena is a classic. I wonder if she knows she is famous here?
My favorite, too!

I think this was my favorite of their performances on the show, although I think they won with Video Killed the Radio Star. Loved your reaction!
Thank you for a great react. I love them so much. This one is a fav but 11 & 12 are fire
I have so been waiting for you to review this one! I knew you would love it.
