Never knew it was a cover until now. Just checked out the original. It's good, very similar but yes a little Welch's. Fermented it gains more rock on the palate.
Classic Canadian rock . Invisible south of the border , but rock gods in the great white north . Their catalog is long , and deep . A rabbit hole that is decades in length .
Oh AW were big in the American Heartland, and in Texas where the Godfather of Rock pushed them big, like all the other Canadian Groups he pushed down there.
That could be because it was written in 1971 and recorded by the original Artist Lorence Hud in 1973. His version actually went to #16 while AW's version only went to #40 on the Canadian Chart which both were from.
Clean rock with no real originality. Not bad, just bland...and when they go for the heavier stuff ("Crash And Burn" on the same album) it's all very formulaic!
Firstly, AW, terrible name for a band. And nope, another cover. I think the small success they had was (largely) with covers, and they were little known outside canada. Hmmm, wonder why :) Humdrum, AOR, FM radio style, soft rock. And I use the term 'rock' very loosely....
When I was in Germany, they were on top of the charts, every country we went to they were huge, you couldn’t get away from them. They had a lot of hard rockers and most songs written by Myles, you sound like someone who never heard the albums and only know the hits
Myles Goodwin was a awesome guitarist/singer/songwriter and frontman. Love🤍April Wine. This is my favorite by them. Brings back great memories !! 🤘🏼

The Lorence Hud reached #16 on the Canadian Charts while the AW version only got to #40. Guess you might need to check out the Original
Silver Dollar from First Glance next time please.
wait a sec. You did a song by April Wine, and it wasn't one of the following great songs by them??
1. Roller
2. Rock Myself To Sleep
Major fail
Wishbone Ash meets Uriah Heep. Capable but slightly dull band. This was a bit dated even in 1981.

@@toddstevens13 I hear that mentioned towards the end of the video, so I thought someone would pick me up on it.
