I come from a bad home. My husband comes from a good home. Can I "re-program" myself. I do go to therapy. This video was very informative for me. Everything makes so much sense to me now. So thank you. Also, the fact that I'm not alone in being raised in a bad home is such a relieve.

Yes! You can absolutely re-program just like you can learn a new language. It's not easy, and it requires a lot of commitment and practice. Good to know we are not as weird as we think we are eh? DrPaul

My husband and myself come from parents that have been married for fifty years. We still have problems. I've been betrayed felt ignored. I stayed for our children and kept it hid as best we could but now that our children are now adults I told my husband I needed to tell them everything if we were going to stay together. I wanted my children to know why their mother was so depressed. I probably should have left years ago. I didn't know anything was going on for ten years before he destroyed me mentally and physically.

I am not sure you have to tell your children everything. You could be putting more on them than they need to know. Ask yourself what you want to get out of it and if it will be helpful then go with it. You can rebuild yourself, even now. Could be the beginning of a beautiful chapter of your life.

This sounds like an old theory. I prefer Dr. Jenkins action oriented help.

@@LiveOnPurposeTV Thanks for your welcome. ☺️ I’ll be spending quite a bit of time on your channel. 😉 Hopefully my feedback did not come across as negative. I prefer your techniques over your guest speaker, no offense.

I was glad I saw this you tube video and his approach supports the work of Harville Hendrix whom I respect. I am divorced after 25 years of marriage. I have also recently extensively studied how the brain works and wish I knew more about this before getting married and while I was in college. I want to support his work and strong belief there are answers but we may have to search for them as they are not readily available. I was once a great fan of psychology and counseling but without greater knowledge of how our brain works, I feel as if I was actually shooting in the dark trying to effect positive change which I do believe is possible but we need to know what is causing our problems in the first place. Look no further than how your brain actually works. Dr, Amen, a psychiatrist champions when your brain works right you work right and that you can change your brain. I agree but you need to know how to do that and this video was very informative and accurate. Take what he says seriously and keep educating yourself. You may have a high IQ but if you were programmed poorly it will not help you as the real problem is the limbic brain and our subconscious programming. Thank you for the excellent video
