What if you have direct audio evidence in a one party state of 7 claims, including retaliation, but started a new job almost immediately after being fired. The new job does pay more, leading to no economic damages but without benefits, and on a contract basis. Can I still Sue for damages since I planned to retire at this company with the 401 k match before the discrimination started. And if so, is it reasonable to negotiate some of the penetrative damages, seeing that the strength of the case is audio backed, and the employer has already agreed to mediate?
Why are depositions videotaped in an employment case. will the other lawyer be aggressive in the questioning? Who gets to see the video deposition? Thanks.
Hello Vince, hope all is well. Can I contact an employment attorney if I was a medical student at my university? I was expelled from my program after I've made a complaint of racial discrimination towards a teacher that made me failed an exam because of discrimination. Only student of my race in my faculty. Then I had to restart the year and all the teachers teamed up against me to make me fail the year again, so I was expelled from my program. I had two years of potential future earnings lost and that’s around $400,000. Also a couple of tens of thousands of damages from the fees I was paying for school and the materials I was paying. I know that I'm not an employee,but I feel like an employment attorney could help me more than other types of attorneys for this case. If not what would be the best type of attorney for me? Also I want to apply a divide and conquer strategy. How would a defence employment attorney could strategize on dealing with a divide and conquer strategy you apply if you have multiple teachers you can sue because they have participated in your retaliation (those people are all high earners that you can sue)?
