I can accept that!! :-) Regarding your "rising sign" question (also called an ascendant sign), it refers to the sign /planet that is on the horizon when you were born (you need the exact time and city). It's supposed to represent your true self. As for Kenneth Anger's "Scorpio Rising" fever dream of a masterpiece, its interest in darkness, death, and sex are definitely part of the perfume's atmosphere, and of course so is its name! (If you'd like to see the mood board I sent to Antoine as visual inspiration, go to my Instagram!) In any case, Scorpio is almost always associated with death, sex, and mystery! One's rising sign is the point in the birth chart representing the horizon at the moment and place of one's birth, it's the timestamp of one's emergence into the world. Playing catch-up on your videos of the new year. I received Mx last month from a friend as well as Barbara’s book. I am afraid I am becoming deeply committed to the rabbit hole that is your world of fragrance. I had no idea who Barbara and Mr. Lie are until now and I am fascinated by the complexity of their offerings. What I love about Mx is that it’s subtle, but mysterious and does not have one ounce of flowers. I am also enjoying pepper these days, so I am looking forward to trying Scorpio Rising next month- even though I am an Aquarius 😏

The ascendant is the astrological sign ascending on the eastern horizon at a specific time for the place you were born (longitude and latitude taken into account for calculation). As to effect of the signs: sun = character, moon = behavior; ascendent = personality. Too bad about the Javanol -- I won't be trying this one (but always enjoyable listening to your impressions).

Since Maher is the indie perfumer, doubtful that he is using Javanol which is from Givaudon. But whatever he's using, it's great!

Gemini, with Scorpio Rising and Moon; I am more a Scorpio than Gemini. Your rising suggests how others see you, your Moon, your emotional state and how you view yourself. I need to catch this scent ASAP!!!! Astrology used to be a science, and has some merit from a physics stand point, if the moon can affect the tide, location of planets can affect other bodies of water, which is what we are mostly. However, please do not follow your daily horoscope!!! That's futile.
