You people are so impatient. I've just gotten to the 50 episode mark of Boruto and enjoyed it quite well. My only complaint so far was Boruto's lame ass fight in the Hidden Mist. Thankfully Sarada's fight was epic and there was at least 1 good battle.
@@Alacachoo what do you expect from a 1 ep series dude? I already know what happened in that series. He had a dream to be a 'whatever' king, he just surpasses his limits and just beats the crap out of everyone who come in his way in becoming of 'whatever' king including antagonist. And THE END.
My favorite moment in Black Clover is when Black Bull steps in to save Finral from his brother. The scene has so many little things to notice that makes the emotional weight ten time better Gordon raised his voice Magna speaks quietly Luck stops smiling Gouche puts away Marie's picture This really shows how much all the characters really care about eachother
God damn that part hit me in the feels. Especially since at first I didn't think much of Langris outside of joking about how his primary ability is The Hand from JJBA. Then comes him fucking up my boy Finral and all of the Black Bulls jumping in to protect their comrade. Just...damn. Plus it did a good job of foreshadowing the arc we have right now in the anime since we wanted to know what the hell was up with the crazy power boost.
It's interesting because when this video came out, it was at a part in the anime that hadn't delved too deep into the individual characters and Black Bulls themselves. But after episode 120 over a year later, this anime became something I made fun of to one of my most favorite anime of all time.
can we get a shoutout for Noelle for finally gathering the courage to stick up for herself against her siblings later on in the royal knights tournament arc?
That quote from the Witch Queen regarding Asta, “You are nothing special in the slightest but that's what makes you special” can basically be said about the series itself because it takes the generic shōnen tropes and makes it work in its own way and surpasses expectations
Something I actually really like about this story is that the rival isn't a asshole. The rivalry is friendly, they actually like each other and are basically family. And despite being rivals, they help each other and want the other to get better and stronger with them. Instead of being assholes to each other and trying to put down the other.
It's been a year since you posted this but what the heck. You're right, and I like how they don't depend on the power of friendship to evolve. Instead of that they tease each other to get stronger together. That's some healthy Rivalry here. Yuno recognize's Asta and Asta isn't Chasing after Yuno. They're both equals fighting together to see who can reach the dream they both have first
@@camilomartan746 but Asta is chasing after yuno....and kinda unrelated but Yuno wanting to become wizard king feels insincere. It looks like he only wants to do it to rub it in Asta's face that hes more capable (Fixed spelling mistakes)

They're not friends, they are rivals, and if you watch the past of Yuno and Asta you can see that Yuno was a crybaby and thanks to Asta he had the determination to have a dream, they both have the same dream and motivation to follow that dream, it's like they are the different faces of the same coin. And dude, when you're competing against someone, you want to show off they both do it, not only Yuno
Black Clover has really grew as an anime and on people, it’s 2021 and Black Clover has become one of the most watched and loved anime in the world. It was also the first ever anime to ever be #1 trending on UA-cam. I love Black Clover!!!!
black clover: is initially looked down upon by the anime community but redeems itself asta: is initially looked down upon by the magic knights but redeems himself coincidence? i think NOT
I started with mha, loved it at first, like a lot. but the side characters get less development than bc, with less battles... on top of that, everything is who punches harder in the end now. Mha movie 3 was probably the worst Shonen movie I've seen too. Bc has easily become one of the best
Kevon Seymour #KS27 Better than My Hero and Demon Slayer. Black Clover is now consistently better in everyway. If any show is average its Demon Slayer the only great thing about it is the animation. Sure its a cool show but Black Clover has way more depth. Just my opinion, you can think differently not trying to attack or anything.
@@mystic2918 mha is overrated af that series doesn't even have a decent world building and characters...the toxic fandom just exaggerates the westernized characters...all might is cringe af
So. This anime is the one anime i'm fully emotionally invested in all the damn characters and it consistently makes me happy and sad cry unlike literally every anime ever.

What I took away from this video • Black clover is in my top 3 • I'm shounen trash edit: Its been a year since I commented and I still don't know whether its shounen or shōnen It can be both ways I think
This month i started watching Black clover and after 1 or 2 weeks i was up to date (ep 88). It's really like Naruto without filler. Fairy Tail without random friendshit power ups and just the right amount of cast.
well it has the power of i will never give up but i still love black clover it gives the same feelings that i had when i watched bleach naruto one piece such memories ahh
to me the most beautifully animated moments of the fights ARE the sketched moments. For some reason, it feels much more visceral and real. Honestly, I'm not sure if i'd still be focused on watching it if it wasn't for the sketched swing of the sword in asta's first triumphant moment.
My cousin said I should watch Black Clover, so I started, the summer of 2019. The first episode was so horrendous to me. I told my cousin, he said I should continue and not drop it, and I was so convinced I was going to leave it there, being stubborn. I don't know why, I can't explain it myself, but I kept watching, even when I got frustrated by the 2 sided characters, even when the pacing didn't seem good personally, even when the animation was kinda trashy sometimes, and even when the story was both simple and flooded with clichés. Why did I keep watching Black Clover? Episode after episode, I would always be too harsh, disgusted by something, but then right away watch the next episode, because I was doing a marathon. I usually drop animes that I don't like. And being above 50 episodes was something that surprised me by very large amounts. Maybe it was the arcs, making me interested. Maybe it was Yuki Tabata or the animation team, that made some deal with the devil or some sort of spell to keep people with ''high standards'' to stay. I don't know, but right know, both the anime and the manga are so good. I, finally, after many episodes, love the characters and love everything about the adaptation, and can't think about leaving it.
I get that same feeling as well, though I never trashed on it. It's just for some reason, someone like me who pauses watching a series after ~6 episodes and comes back to continue it months later, Black Clover somehow makes me not do that.
@@muhammadgharibaldy8064 i'm glad you say this, because i am currently watching episode 15 of black clover going "why am i here" and you guys are egging me on to keep on watching, so i will i really hope it gets better though
For me, one of the things that actually made me like Asta was when he and Noelle was in a room of big shots. And they mocked him mercilessly. The camera then cuts to Asta and he calmly says "Man, they aren't holding back huh." (Or something along those lines, can't remember it word for word.) He doesn't give a shit. Then, the Silva(?) family starts mocking Noelle, and he almost instantly flies into a fit of rage. Its just hard, for me at least, to dislike someone that so quickly stands up for his friends, while also not really bothering standing up for himself. I know he stands up for himself when people call him short, but that's usually in more "casual" settings. Not in a room filled with the biggest of big shots.
This was one of the many scenes that sold me on this show. Seeing how passionate Asta cares about his friends, seeing how much the Black Bulls care about each other, seeing how much the royals are learning to appreciate commoners like Asta, seeing how much suffering the Black Bulls went through, seeing how cruel the Clover kingdom treats the lower classes, has all made me appreciate this show so much. The Black Bulls are all so ridiculous and that’s why I love them so much because they found other ridiculous people to live with. I know people might complain about friendship but I truly feel that the Black Bulls are a family and when I see them care about each other so much it makes me want to cry that they found happiness in each other.
This scene finished with him jumping on the table and drawing his sword then the sick guitar outro drops. Goosebumps. Excellent execution and great end to an episode
Storytelling 101 - pick (at most) Two at a time: Character development, Worldbuilding, Plot. When the writers are explicitly aware of this, even admitting it to their fans? We can move on to bigger and better things. It can be Shounen af, be fun, and *never stop the plot and fights*. Perhaps the writing staff can suddenly deconstruct those shounen tropes, and find itself in a post-modernist post-shounen space. Then again... Shounen gonna Shounen.
@@Triattt jaiminisbox.com/reader/read/black_clover/en/0/51/page/17 The translation is a bit different but in the anime (episode 36) he basically says that line.

Honestly when you understand Asta character and that shit he had to deal with his entire life, it's his way of silencing the noise on the outside and even more the noise on the inside.
I don't even understand why they keep on saying that Asta and Yuno are Naruto and Sasuke copycats when the FACT is Asta & Yuno are more like bros with a healthy rivalry that respect each other and want to be Wizard King to change the noble status and stop the discrimination they get and make everyone in their world no matter what race or status in living equal.
I think on the surface they look very similar to naruto and sasuke the same way bakugo and deku look. But you're right theres something refreshing about the fact that the "sasuke" isnt an edgy asshole
uhhh, i don't think that's a good thing unless you're referring to being a manga reader who already got to the great parts before the main viewers (the anime watchers).
@@guts7099 Lol imagine being such an anime/manga elitist that you borderline insult people for sticking through the beginning of the Black Clover anime before it was good. If you cannot sit through a little trash then you dont know what taste is. If you only watch the good stuff, you won't truly appreciate it because you haven't seen how bad anime can get. So anyone that could sit through the beginning of the anime and not switch the the manga probably has better taste than you ngl. They can at the very least know when an anime is worth sticking through. BC had alot of potential and many people saw that and now its honestly a very good shonen. You may not personally like the anime/manga, but at the very least don't be a dick and say that its a legitimate bad thing that people decided to stick with BC when it was below average. The standards for anime now are absurd and I think people should stop being so stuck up and trash on an anime if it isn't perfect in the first episode.

@@sama8462 what do you mean. Rock Lee trained knowing he can't use ninjutsu or taijutsu. So he specialized in taijutsu. Asta trained his hardest knowing he wouldn't get magic anyway. Deku only started training when he realized he would get a quirk. Asta relates to Lee more than deku can.

Anyone coming back to this episode after the recent Asta + Yuno Vs. Licht fight? Just became my favourite fight in anime history, and THAT is saying something. I know this video is like what?? 11 months old? But Gigguk if by any chance you read this, please make another Black Clover video giving your thoughts on how it is now, if not that then make a video on the Asta + Yuno Vs. Licht fight? Maybe It's just my inner shonen fanboy trash showing but man, that fight was sensational.
You know what black clover feels like ? Old school shounen you used to watch on toonami . It just has that charm that shounen has been missing lately .
I think the most appealing thing shonen can do is stop trying to blend in with all other shonen. It definitely has that vibe, but I don't believe it will stand the test of time.
Arthur P. Agree. It's not pretending or trying hard to be different, but of course it has it's own twist and taste to it. I like how it's straight to the point and cuts the bullshit short. It also fixes what i dislike in shounen mainly long training arcs and useless main heroine that's only useful by the end of the series. Currently the most enjoyable series on WSJ's lineup on par with One Piece, in my opinion. Too bad the anime adaptation is not good, but i heard the BC's staff is more well scheduled for season 2 so, let's just hope they deliver.
@@ServerScoutPlayer Every story has it's own twists to old ideas, doesn't make the writing good. What would you describe as bullshit? Proper world building, character development/growth, and actual effort in writing? There are a lot more enjoyable stories in the lineup imo.

Silver Bean thats a good joke. “mediocre” hah. Just gonna say this for gigguk. But he made it a point not to mention the genius of tabatas writing. U can base ur opinion on astas charcater sure. but not the writing.
I gave it a chance now that the anime has finished, but I did not expect to fall in love with Black Clover nearly as much as I did. It really starts to pick up as Asta stops screaming so damn much LMAO. Besides the growth of the characters (I'm a character development guy), my favourite aspect is when the "simple" premise gets flipped on its head and turned inside out. It's phenomenal how well Black Clover ties all the little lore details scattered throughout its earlier phase into a great, complex mosaic of story, while still retaining that level of ridiculousness.
They say Asta's yelling is obnoxious yet it's ok when other MC's do it? Btw he is the first yelling character in anime that doesn't yell when he sneak attacks, at least not 10 meters away from the target that is. Really. Every anime character yells on a sneak attack and when they fail they are like "How did he see me coming?!"
"if you don't like shounen, this isn't the anime for you" me, who never really liked any shounens before but blasted through black clover in a few weeks: haha.. right.
Ahem. Uuuhhh isn't worng, It's not great, It's pretty bad and old, But people can still find things to like about it cause it's perriot and it's shonen, It's legit made to be hype, And if you can reach a good high your not gonna complain. Just like drugs. Shonen is cocaine man.
One thing I appreciate about Asta's character is that hard work actually DOES have power over innate talent (Something that PlagueOfGripes expressed that Naruto failed at a good portion into the series). Having the Demon Slayer and Demon Dweller swords doesn't make Asta overpowered in any capacity. They weigh a lot and require Asta to put himself into dangerous position and risks to effectively operate in combat at all. Unlike Naruto, who tried building his body instead of actually trying to study up on his Ninja 101 stuff because...?, Asta has nothing to learn: As someone with no magic whatsoever, he benefits very little from attempting to study up on anything beyond the basics, but everything to gain from physically building his body since it directly correlates with his performance in combat. His anti-magic swords are his means to be a part of the magic world, but at the same time don't automatically make him instantly superior to anyone that knows how to keep their distance in a fight. Going even beyond that, Black Clover knows the difference between the power of friendship and the power of teamwork. Asta doesn't instantly win a lot of his fights by swearing to mamoru his tomodachi, but by actually cooperating with others to cover his glaring weaknesses. The Bulls vs. Vetto is one of the best examples of this. He may deal the final blow and have the big, screamy moment and puts views on a UA-cam clip, but hardly any of his moves in battles are the result of random, convenient power-ups. Hell, the Demon Dweller sword, which was introduced as a convenient means to win an uphill battle against Mars, has its true power completely reliant on the trust and cooperation of Asta's peers, which makes its "power of teamwork" literally tangible.
OneGamer2EnvyThemAll Even when he goes full demon he still need the help of Yuno to go against someone like Licht (in one of the hypest battle scenes in the series btw)
For the most part, he just doesn't get an instant level up because he's the shonen protagonist. Yeah, he has a 'hidden' talent, but most of the content up until now (for the anime) has been him working out and finding creative ways to fight with his limited abilities and with his members. He's more like Rock Lee than Naruto. And that's why I like him more.
+OneGamer2EnvyThemAll Does that mean Naruto is bad? I'm a Naruto fan, but I'm not so lavishly loyal that I can't take in other views. Why do Shonen series overuse the "power of friendship" trope?
@@lordhokage7181 because it's an easy lazy way to deal with things I like fairy tail but wasn't the biggest fan of that shit in that series for example and Naruto isn't bad at all it's just annoying how everyone wants to relate them to Naruto and Sasuke and shit when every Shonen has similar shit but their both clearly different from them
"Not yet" is not something Asta simply sais to show his determination. It's something the series *keeps* saying and to be honest, I can't help but say it too ;).

I'm going to be honest, the description you gave for his low point made me cry. Probably personal shit, but just the line "he works so hard and tries to never listen to everyone tell them that he can't do stuff because he's afraid they might be right". I got a lot of that shit in my life, and hearing it as an anime trope sort of normalized it for me.
I think this is probably why so many of us love anime. Life is a never ending tidal wave of bullshit, and unless you're lucky, you rarely feel like everything is actually okay. Seeing characters deal with that, and keep going regardless, it really helps us stay afloat in our own lives.

Its weird that this is the moment for so many people because... this is exactly how I think every shonen protag would react. I would have found it more interesting for him to actually grieve... the a person would
I just binged watched BC for a week and I'm done with the entire anime. What I loved about the anime is their team work. The one that stood out the most is when they fought one of the elves in the water temple, when they fought Finral's younger brother and when they fought Luck while he was under the Elves spell. I also love the fact that whenever a new threat comes in, their previous accomplishments and skills are not thrown out of the window unlike other magic based anime. I would have loved it if they gave the magic system a bit more thought and restrictions/consequence but overall it was a good watch and I highly recommend it.
8:00 comparing characters in my hero academia to black clover is actually ridiculous. Alot of people can't remember half of class 1-As names let alone all the pro heroes and other classes, but I persomally know the names and personality of every black bull and more characters in black clover.

Black Clover is REALLY good and I will defend it forever. I hate Studio Clown with a passion but Black Clover has stolen my heart; episode 49 was epic and episode 54 was heavy emotional and made me cry.
I still can't get over the fact that Black Clover is a copy of other shounens. Not inspired by them but a copy of them. Even what Gigguk says makes the main character deep, his internal monologue, his weak moment and then his denial of ever giving up. That is literally the core concept of Naruto. "His way of the ninja". The same monologue and actions almost word for word. Being a copy this much seriously cheapens Black Clover. And accepting this concept("look at how shounen I am guys!") does not help. This way of thinking is just forgiving it's problem. A kid doing silly things and shouting "look how silly I am" does not excuse him and make his actions less silly. Maybe I'm just getting old but if you love shounens this should make you angry because instead of improving and creating a better product, they just copied everything and slapped a different name on it. If you love shounens you should know that this is hurting the genre. If this succeeds you'll get the same treatment for years. And think to yourself why are there no original ideas left in the genre.
That's bullshit the main character does remind you of other characters bunched into one but the concepts of the main character relationship wit all the other supporting characters are different which gives it a different vide I like it black clover definitely in my top 8
"the concepts of the main character relationship wit all the other supporting characters are different" Even Gigguk said that every character and their relationships with eachother are tropes. Generic rival, generic teacher etc. So you can't just say their relationships are different and leave it at that. Explain and list different characters and their relationships that did not exist in popular shounens before. And people can decide if they are unique or not.
@@serkanMKose You need to understand that we've come a long way of making anime and manga and it's stupid to rate works shit because they're not "100% original". 95% of the anime are cliche shit and so are many other things in entertainment like movies and books. IMO Black Clover is unique in its own way and I love it. If Black clover was made before Naruto and other shounen. You would be saying that they're ripping off Black Clover. So yeah it is not all black and white. Just enjoy or not.
@@NicholasTylerBrown i said peace bro. Hopefully, you are not triggered. But to explain: the humor, expressions of characters whether good or bad in anime is usually more expressed and relatable when it is in original language. Sometimes, dub cuts a lot of it. So as a person born in asia lots of us kinda prefer the original. Also, you will also notice the facial movement sometimes is not on sync with the words. There are a lot of youtubers who joke on that. We used to have channels in Asia that shows the episode in english dub and sub separately in a day. Big difference. Honestly, some characters even feel like its not them when you watch and compare sub and dub. I understand though that here in the west of course you prefer dub.

@@aizenthetrollking8583 [SPOILERS!!!] He has two hot ladies weak for him and a pretty interesting underdog story as a Japanese-esque foreginer washed ashore into an European-esque land, wielding mysterious Dark Magic and having the previously unheard of ability to read something called "Ki". Thanks to the support of the man who would become the current Wizard King, he went from being mocked by everyone around him, to a Magic Knight Captain. He's pretty much the side-protaginst at this point.
Black Clover hooked me in the first episodes because of his character. He didn’t have the wizard king give him some o.p. magic like All Might did with Midoriya (but Midoriya did show the same determination to succeed despite the risk to his... well bones) Asta didn’t steal a grimoire like Naruto did with the scroll when he wasn’t progressing as much as his peers. Asta has really been the most determined to succeed and most defiant to give up or fail since the very start... and everything he will achieve was by his own means (with, of course, the Black Bulls being the only to accept or even want him as a magic knight). Asta is the definition of a character moving the plot along and not the plot dragging him along.
I dislike him for the reason you stated,he just randomly got his power for no good reason from what i can see. Midoriya was lucky he even got seen by All Might,it gets pointed out later that someone wants another to be the successor. Midoriya even feels down because he himself feels he can't hold a candle against the other guy
Patrick Yeh the problem i see with what you said is that you stated it was only luck for deku but bs for asta because for asta it was “no reason” but for deku, he was just lucky enough to not only meet all might but to convince him to think about giving him his powers even tho they barely knew each other. I don’t think it’s luck as much as it’s just a story being told from the protagonists perspective and since it’s a protagonist, of course they have to have some sort of ability that they can use to take themselves far within their own universe so i don’t see asta gaining his power as bs. It’s just a story being told about some kids who happen to have gotten powers that allowed them to get far.
@@Soft__lemons Deku doesn't even convince all might to do so though. I have problems with asta getting OP powers for seemingly no reason, and people still treat him as an underdog.
Patrick Yeh technically by that logic deku got it for no reason as all might could have literally chosen anyone else. In black clover, there’s an underlying plot and a reason asta gained the grimoire, which is most likely because of his resolve and also the location where he lived (next to licht’s corpse where his grimoire also was) and he was most likely chosen because he was like licht. He’s treated like an underdog at first because of his lack of magic power but later on he’s treated as an ultimate threat because of his demonic powers. Anyways shit just happens to the protag because that’s part of the story. If shit didn’t happen to the protag, the story would be boring. Why is it that naruto is the child of prophecy? Why does Gon have such high potential? Shit just happens because that’s how the story develops a plot.
@@Soft__lemons The plot mentioned it in MHA that someone else was intended to be the sucessor,Deku was indeed lucky to get it,and he himself knows it.by pure chance and luck and it feels like greater storytelling to me. Deku knows he wasn't the best option there was at the time, but struggles to prove that him being chosen wasn't a mistake.Better than 'destiny' bullshit BC just pulled off out of nowhere. Even naruto kinda destoyed it's baseline near the end with the prophecy but in BC it just happened right off the start and without explanation no less. Also i don't like how utterly incompetent anyone except the main cast is in BC,literally everything revolves around them and the rest of the magic knights basically can't do shit
It is okay to miss parts of JoJo. I watched the first few episodes, skipped to an episode of the next arc, watched a bunch of Stardust Crusaders and then watched an episode of Diamond is Unbreakable
I don’t think many people give the show enough appreciation to just how dense the world and its storytelling is. I started and finished the Elf Reincarnation Arc in one night and it was breathtaking. It was a culmination of everything that came up to that point and everything after that Arc expands on it and diverts into different paths. I think the world building and storytelling is great and it only gets better the more you watch. I think the world building has potential to be on par with One Piece. Just in terms of how it all ties together and the world feels alive regardless of the main character was there or not.
Legit, I was waiting and waiting for the elf stuff to come together, and once it did, man did it deliver. Quickly reached “I can’t stop watching” level as that plot line developed
First episode of Alicization didn't really get me, I still don't think it's great. I mean I already enjoyed watching SAO, but it really has many problems, which keep me from calling it a good Anime, just an enjoyable Anime. So I hope for some big surprises and great storytelling in the following episodes to make me go: "Yeah it's a really nice show"; but let's see if that holds true.
Came to watch this after binging 100 episodes in 4 days and literally staying up until 5 o'clock cause I couldn't stop watching ... this show isn't the best I've ever seen, hell it isn't even in my top 20. But there is something about it .... it's just Shonen. That's it. But it's so satisfying and everytime someone gains new magic I'M SO HYPED. Like damn that eye of the midnight sun/devil reveal arc was just so damn ... good somehow. It didnt even do something new. It was just good fun Shonen.
Most of those episodes weren't filler, but "anime canon" (essentially anime-only content that's open to being canonized and isn't just filler); the only filler arc was that arc with the "devil banishers" and was a small portion of the filling-in-the-timeskip episodes.
Just binged 120+ episodes of the show and you nailed it with this. The show disarms you with all the familiar and then BAM hits you with a really meaningful moment or a joke from left field.
"please don't unsub" Actually you got me to give Black Clover another chance and then I watched the rest of your review and could not find anything I would have disagreed with you here. I rarely subscribe to anyone ever, but you've deserved it. Great video, great review, keep up the good work, and thanks, I really did find a show I enjoyed.
I actually cried when i read chapter 81 for the first time, where Asta looked in the sky with Nero on his shoulder, with Tears in his eyes and said:,, I... always hated the fact that... I was never blessed with any magic..., but in place of that, I was blessed with wonderful teammates."
The feels in chapter 176 hit me so hard I fucking cried like Asta when he knew the fact that his teammates tried so hard to find EVERY way to heal his arms
this video is the video that got me to watch black clover 2 years ago and now it hit #1 on trending on UA-cam and twitter, I couldn't be any happier now
Black Clover never sucked, it has been good since the beginning. The only negative I have is the animation but that's due to the low budget & time problems. But still they make such good episodes with whatever they have. The studio should give the team more budget & animators. Black Clover should be their star attraction not Boruto, who even watches that garbage!
Just binged the whole series in a few days, I can't wait for NEW episodes. I managed to enjoy the series right from the very beginning until the point it has stopped at
I feel like it's possible to have a change of opinion? I know it doesn't happen very often for the heavily stubborn and opinionated, but it's entirely possible.
Why are people trying to compare this anime to other anime. Of course if you try to compare, your going to find some similarity. Considering there so much anime. Not like it a bad thing if any anime have similarity.
@@txmqalfpdiq It entirely boils down to experience, for anime fans that have are old as fuck, it would come to no surprise that they would criticise every single similar detail that they can find, it's simply because their tastes have become more refined and more un naived that they will instantly know when something is similar to another show without even comparing it as they've sensed its similarities. a good comparison would be a new anime fam who can consume every anime that they see without comparing it to any anime since they would not have the experience to sense any similarities and would think that almost all anime are unique. while someone who has been atleast 5 years in the medium would be more picky in their tastes as they can't help but sense the similarities a show has to another show without purposely comparing them as they've watched innummerable amounts of anime and if the veteran's job is reviewing anime like Gigguk's He thus needs to analyze and compare the anime to previous animes he has seen to accurately describes what his opinion on the story is since some stories may seem to be excellent until you have found its similarities to other shows within its genre making it either stale or still decent
Because they are ignorant. The same people that bash black clover because follow shonen conventions are the same that think that Boku no Hero breack the same convention when in reality they are both very cliche(for example, the mc that cry a lot in shonen is as old as fucking Kenshiro, but only old people and italians seem to remember it, abd everyone only knew the omae wa no shindeiru meme). Ultimately every show can be descrived as a mash up of older show of a similar genre: Naruto: Hunter x Hunter + Yu Yu hakushu(kiahimoto literally admit to be a togashi fanboy) One piece: dragonball + various pirate tales Bleach: yu yu hakushu + saint seya My hero Academia: Naruto + X men Even fucking JoJo was heavily inspired by Hokuto no Ken. Every show is derivative of what came before to an extent, singling out Black clover means that you only knew naruto and did not get how other shows where inspired.
@@verniy4087 What irritates me is that people pretend that their opinions are fact and that they matter when they have watched like 50-100 anime( generally speaking , not referring to someone specific). I have seen Hundreds of anime in the past 12 or so years and it just kills me how some guy that Watched Naruto and a handful of other shows comes to Black Clover and says that it's just a copy of Naruto. No it's not , other than the fact that Naruto wants to be Hokage and Asta wants to be Wizard King , the similarities are almost non existent. You could argue Naruto is copying One Piece because Luffy wants to be Pirate King which is the same with Naruto wanting to be Hokage , which is stupid. Asta's character is a bit similar to Hero Academy , way more than it is to Naruto. Also Asta's character compared to Deku ,is not a crybaby , he's upfront, energetic and a hard worker. Those days people feel the need to complain and express frustration. While in 2004 Kishimoto admitted that he took inspiration from Dragon Ball Z to create Naruto , nobody gave a shit and to this day nobody talks about that , sure people say Naruto is trash for various reasons , but never talk about how Kishimoto got "inspired" by other works. Yet when this guy that made Black Clover gets inspiration from other shows , it's a valid criticism. Valid criticism is "The voice actor is bad / annoying" or "The pacing is too fast and it lacks character development". But saying "oh it looks like a mash of all my favorite shounen" is not valid criticism until you provide strong evidence and prove your point , which most can't since they don't have , like you said , enough anime knowledge / experience.
Honestly i have so much to say about this show. I was in a shit place prior to watching it and then came across this video didnt finish half of it and went and streamed the first episode. I finished all 170 episodes in 3 weeks and it took me straight out of my depression and brought me so much joy. The world building is by far the best ive seen in any anime. Each character is lovable and each arc is interesting and makes sense for the final goal of the show. I do not get the sense of OP and each character’s powers is so well explained and the power ranking in the show is incredibly interesting. The ups and downs of each character hits all the right places. So my advice to anyone who wants to start it. Just do it. See by urself whether its worth it or not.
Watching Black Clover myself, I don’t really understand why people keep on saying that it’s a copy of FairyTale or Naruto. More I heard was Naruto than FairyTale. I mean yeah Black Clover has the same concept and theme of those two shows but that doesn’t mean it’s a copy. Asta and Yuno’s relationship is nothing like Naruto and Sasuke’s. Unlike Sasuke, Yuno actually shows that he cares for his rival. Last time I checked, if someone were to talk mess about Naruto, Sasuke would’nt do jack city about it.
The greatest moment in the show was during the Hot spring arc. Unlike all other shonen protagonists. It only takes Asta like 3 or 4 tries for him to figure out how to have the Anti-magic go through his body for black Asta mode where Naruto, Deku, and etc. took literally forever to figure this shit out.
True like that genuinely surprised me. I knew that it wasn't going to be easy but the fact that he figured it out on his own without knowing anything about the form is impressive. This is one of the things i like about Asta he might be a brat sometimes but is really creative and thinks rationally when needed to
what are you talking about if it was so easy to figure out how to do so then what was even the point of showing the training.the point of training is to make it look hard.
@@sadi5430 I think his point is that it showed Asta take time to think it through and figure it out that way, rather than most shonen protagonists who (metaphorically speaking) spend the bulk of their training bashing their face into a brick wall until they figure it out. We see Asta think through, "Okay, I have the strength to get up the volcano, but without magic, I can't use mana skin to protect myself from this intense heat. Okay, I'm going to use my ki-sensing that I learned in a previous arc to figure out and sort through my options. Okay, I'm sensing the anti-magic that flows through my swords flowing from the sword and into my body. Let's see if I can increase the flow" and he works things out; that's the reason it takes him only a couple of tries. It's still hard work and hard training (he's climbing a volcano) but he thinks it through unlike most shonen protagonists.

Something I actually really like about this story is that the rival isn't a asshole. The rivalry is friendly, they actually like each other and are basically family. It's been a year since you posted this but what the heck. You're right, and I like how they don't depend on the power of friendship to evolve. Facts!
The animation problems aren't due to money my guy.
to me the most beautifully animated moments of the fights ARE the sketched moments. For some reason, it feels much more visceral and real. Honestly, I'm not sure if i'd still be focused on watching it if it wasn't for the sketched swing of the sword in asta's first triumphant moment.
You can't say that anymore

Yeah, The first 15 eps were kinda "what the hell is this" and later it become "holy shit, this show is actually good lmao"

For me, one of the things that actually made me like Asta was when he and Noelle was in a room of big shots.
And they mocked him mercilessly.
The camera then cuts to Asta and he calmly says "Man, they aren't holding back huh." (Or something along those lines, can't remember it word for word.)
He doesn't give a shit.
Also, side note. I can't say I care to much about the animation looking bad sometimes.
As long as the story is good, it doesn't mater, to much.
Kinda like luffy and red shanks 😀

I'm absolutely in love with characters who know their own tropes. The whole "Something would have probably awakened within me" line is absolute gold!
Yeah, I love when that happens. Throws in a good laugh and makes me like the show a bit more.
Storytelling 101 - pick (at most) Two at a time:
Character development,
Worldbuilding,
Plot.
It reminds me of Games who break the 4th wall and say: "Oh man, a Escort Mission, everone hates these" and then give you an Escort Mission.....

@@PlankDot Lmaoo, chill bro, I'm caught up to the anime. I watched all of it. I'm just saying that the earlier parts weren't really that good at all. I stuck through it too. You are joking right?

Black clover is actually underrated - Top 10 anime betrayals...ft Gigguk
The way I literally screamed 'THANK YOU' when you mentioned pacing
One of my favorite parts of black clover
Black Clover hooked me in the first episodes because of his character.
He didn’t have the wizard king give him some o.p. magic like All Might did with Midoriya (but Midoriya did show the same determination to succeed despite the risk to his... well bones)
Asta didn’t steal a grimoire like Naruto did with the scroll when he wasn’t progressing as much as his peers.

Just in terms of how it all ties together and the world feels alive regardless of the main character was there or not.

...are you subscribed to Pewdiepie?
Tbh, Asta's screaming never bothered me. I didn't even notice it until people started pointing it out. And even then, I didn't get annoyed ay it.
I actually cried when i read chapter 81 for the first time, where Asta looked in the sky with Nero on his shoulder, with Tears in his eyes and said:,, I... always hated the fact that... I was never blessed with any magic..., but in place of that, I was blessed with wonderful teammates."
The feels in chapter 176 hit me so hard I fucking cried like Asta when he knew the fact that his teammates tried so hard to find EVERY way to heal his arms
where is the anime right now in terms of chapters?
EpicDude467 almost hit 70, anime is 100 ahead
Lame
Damn right. That send chills down my spine.
"We got a magic that transform-"
Me: NO DON'T SPOIL THAT ARC GODDAMMIT

To be honest...
i like that Asta yells every single mili-second of the anime
same lmao
It annoyed me in the first episode, but it really grew on me
this video is the video that got me to watch black clover 2 years ago and now it hit #1 on trending on UA-cam and twitter, I couldn't be any happier now
For the record asta broke his arms before deku in the manga so really you could say that mha copied black clover
Joke?
Are you friggin serious m8
Calep Jones Well no. its just making fun of the incompetent idiots that think asta breaking his arms is copying deku lol
@@remmborn8154 Havent seen anyone think that tho?
Calep Jones multiple people have said that asta was copying deku when his arms broke when the chapter came out.....

SHOUT IT HARDER .. SO THE WHOLE WORLD CAN HEAR!!!
Yeah i read on somewhere that Studio Periott focuses too much on Boruto and that the BC Team is understaffed
Ok boruto has a very good manga
The anime is a lost cause
Exactly 😭
Ikr, Boruto is just a long filler for Naruto.
It literally sucked for like the first 20 episodes
Just binged the whole series in a few days, I can't wait for NEW episodes.
I managed to enjoy the series right from the very beginning until the point it has stopped at
I hate to break it to you but they stopped airing new episodes

Why are people trying to compare this anime to other anime. Of course if you try to compare, your going to find some similarity. Considering there so much anime. Not like it a bad thing if any anime have similarity.
@@txmqalfpdiq
It entirely boils down to experience, for anime fans that have are old as fuck, it would come to no surprise that they would criticise every single similar detail that they can find, it's simply because their tastes have become more refined and more un naived that they will instantly know when something is similar to another show without even comparing it as they've sensed its similarities.
a good comparison would be a new anime fam who can consume every anime that they see without comparing it to any anime since they would not have the experience to sense any similarities and would think that almost all anime are unique.
while someone who has been atleast 5 years in the medium would be more picky in their tastes as they can't help but sense the similarities a show has to another show without purposely comparing them as they've watched innummerable amounts of anime and if the veteran's job is reviewing anime like Gigguk's
He thus needs to analyze and compare the anime to previous animes he has seen to accurately describes what his opinion on the story is since some stories may seem to be excellent until you have found its similarities to other shows within its genre making it either stale or still decent
Bro I agree. I'm tired of this whole comparing mentality people have when walking into a show 😩
Because they are ignorant.
Ultimately every show can be descrived as a mash up of older show of a similar genre:
Naruto: Hunter x Hunter + Yu Yu hakushu(kiahimoto literally admit to be a togashi fanboy)
One piece: dragonball + various pirate tales
Bleach: yu yu hakushu + saint seya
My hero Academia: Naruto + X men
Even fucking JoJo was heavily inspired by Hokuto no Ken. Every show is derivative of what came before to an extent, singling out Black clover means that you only knew naruto and did not get how other shows where inspired.
@@noukan42 Preach it boy!
I’ve always liked Black Clover

Theresa Cherco what
Honestly i have so much to say about this show.
Black Clover is crappy mish mash of different series without doing any interesting with it.
Black Clover is bad.
@@MarkyMatey worst argument I've ever seen
@@MarkyMatey Some people like that. Calm down
*Fairytail
black clover fights and characters are trash like its not even worth watching anymore
This is one of the things i like about Asta he might be a brat sometimes but is really creative and thinks rationally when needed to
what are you talking about
if it was so easy to figure out how to do so then what was even the point of showing the training.the point of training is to make it look hard.
I cant tell if this is sarcastic
@@matthewmuir8884
Most shonen protagonists think of ways arround a problem but still have to work physically
Another reason i like black clover more than naruto
Side characters are still relevant and have time focused on them in later chapters
I fully agree with you, the same reason why I also prefer MHA more than Naruto.
Tho BC does it better since it has less characters which gives the side characters better focus
True but they fucked up naruto with boruto which honestly sucks
Fck side characters. What a bullshit reason. Naruto >>>>>>> all
@Suraj Prakash so,instead of working your way up to power just do it like BC and make he MC special? he got his powers for pretty much free
