I just bought a sickly chinese evergreen from sale and am totally new to this plant. I thinks it might be snow white - or at least it's partly white. This video was a great help! I hope my plant will thrive with these tips
Thank you sir.. you explained and showed us, clearly, how to prune the dead leaves off of my Aurora Chinese Evergreen Plant. Other vids weren't as clear and as they pruned, the person holding the phone never gave clear view of the actual pruning or leaves laid aside to see exactly how much and where to cut.
I tried to propagate one of my Chinese evergreen through water propagation without success. However maybe I was impatient but after about 28 days it still had not rooted and it may have needed more time. I love these house plants and I keep looking for more!
I will have to try to propagate on aglaonema plant, but I will assume they are similar to dieffenbachia. I know dieffenbachia do not root well when in a clear container for some reason. So perhaps this is the same for aglaonemas?!?! I recently used a dark plastic container with water and the dieffenbachia rooted very well.
Hi. My friend has one that was dropping leaves. The stalk is wilting and I don’t know how to fix it. It was soaked and now I’m not sure if it’s under watered or over. Can you offer any advice. It’s a sparkling Sarah.
Sounds like it is over watered and suffering from root rot. Take it out of the pot and see if there are any roots left. If not and the stem is rotting too....cut back to a portion of the stem where it is green and health. Let that callous over and the stick it in a container of water to re root
I got a ‘Juliette’ late spring and it has been blooming like crazy since I’ve had it. I still have it in the nursery pot and it seems like the entire substrate is straight moss, should I wait until spring to repot it into a more suitable medium?
Everything Plants thank you for your response! I may repot it now before I completely lose all the sun for the season, the roots have begun to show. I appreciate your advice!! Excellent content, keep it up! 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi, I'm very new to plants. I just picked up a plant ysday , and it did not have a name tag on it. I looked it up on Google and it says he's a Chinese evergreen. However when I look up videos for care I CnT seem to find a video with a plant that looks like this. Hoping you can help me figure out what type this is. It has very dark green leaves with white aswell. One leave is half green, half green and white striped or something. It's really beautiful !!! Some leaves have more white than green and vise virsa . Some leaves are just green which look to be the newer leaves. It also has these beautiful burgendy-ish veins or something comming up the stems . Im Absolutely inlove with this plant , my 9 yr old son actually bought it for me so I really want to take good care . Any ideas ????
@@EverythingPlants I don't have any social media unfortunately. The only thing I can find that the stripe thing even resembles is a Birkin plant. Not sure if this helps.howver mine has way more white. And like I said some leaves are completely there own like the half green and half green n white strippy thing. Hmmm I think I found something. Maybe it's a philodendron Birkin
I have a pink Chinese evergreen but two of my leaves are so droopy :/ any recommendations? I thought it was lack of watering, I been trying not to over water. But maybe it’s lack of sun light
My silverbay got really droopy and leggy/dropped a few leaves so I moved it to a more lighted area and got some new growth but the new leaves are coming out a completely new shape and size (it literally looks like a different plant- a lot smaller and rounder/oval) do you think this is a fertilizer issue?
That is one possibility as you were giving it more light it may not have had enough nutrients to sustain that new growth. Have you fertilized it before? Being root bound is another reason for smaller leaves and even watering issues. I'd say as long as it's looking healthy then it should be fine. If you've had this plant for a long time and haven't given fertilizer then try that as well. Keep me posted!
Wow so 1 year later… I repotted it thinking “no harm no foul, if I lose her, she was looking weird anyway!” Well BOY did I find some funky stuff. There were 5 plants in one pot and each of them were in cages/styrofoam holders inside their nursery pot. I took those off, repotted and they have been thriving and my new growth has been big and long and beautiful!
My neighbor gave me 2 cuttings off of her plant. I rooted them in water which took forever. The long rooting time could be that it was in winter, inside. two of the leaves did have some yellowing on the tips when rooting.
I tried to propagate one of my chinese aglaonema but The leaves starts to get yellow, I put honey as a rooting agent I dont know why it still keeps dying. THIS IS MY FIRST TIME propagating aglo and watched so many videos before I propagate it. Please help, my plant is dying and I had no idea how to keep it alive
It is pretty normal for the plant to drop some leaves as it attempts to root. At least that has been the case for me. They do take a bit of time to root as well. Feel free to send a picture to my instagram account to look at your plant.
If it is one or two then I typically don't worry about them. I look to see if there is new growth popping up as well. I always look over my plant for bugs ie Mealybugs....if all is good then you can remove the leaf or let it fall off naturally. It is totally up to you. Hope this helped a bit.
I’m very interested in the content of your video, but the talking in the background is rude and distracting. Who are these people? Great tips though. I’ve been having trouble with both my dieffenbachias and aglaonemas.
Thanks for watching the video. I hope these tips help you with your plants. I am not too sure which people you are referring to as I am the only one in the video. If there as specific time in the video you can reference for me?
I accidentally left out on my porch overnight and it got rained on and possibly froze. It was a light pink color and now it’s a orange yellow color. All the leaves completely died 😬

I have the Aglaonema Cotluss and I bottom water once a week. It seems to love that so much.
Builds up stronger roots if you bottom water

I think it is entirely up to you. You may see a quicker adjustment period when repotting in the spring, but I think right now would be okay too.

Any idea what it means if the tips are yellowing? I'm wondering I have spider kites as well, ahhhh. Thanks for the helpful video 🙂
jenna marbles be here
Ok
Do you take the yellow leafs off I was told to but my plant bloomed but it is getting more yellow leafs ??
I do that them off if they are easy to peel. I usually cut the flowers off as they don't even look all that great haha
Are you misting with plain water to deter spider mites?

Love these videos! First!
Nice!
Would it be okay to snip off the brown tips with scissors?
I don't see why not. I would probably do the same. I've never done that with an aglaonema.
Is it getting enough water?
@@EverythingPlants Yes it is, if anything it might have too much water because it is really cold in my room and the soil keeps staying moist

aglaonema is challenging to plant. So many varieties and sometimes each Aglaonema needs different treatment with the other one.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that
I water my plant and a leave turns yellow. My Chinese Evergreen dark leaves.
