    Hi ! Enjoy your videos. I have orquídea and would kill them but since my better half waters them they are thriving. I had been in search of a China doll plant and finally found one. It is in a 6 inch pot. I seen your video of your tree. I don’t want to kill this plant am so in love with it. Can you please give me advise on how to care for it 😊 thank you !

    So much good information! Gotta say fighting the urge to repot asap is the worst. Usually i got in mind that final nice spot, that nice pot that would look so so good.. and i just have to calm myself. (Tho it is not THAT hard anymore to wait - ever since i actually managed to get home very sick plant full of pests (it was rescue mission :D) but instead of just helping the one, i endangered all of my plants for quiet some time).
    Thank you for lovely video, you got new sub in me

      Thank you so much for watching! Your experience is still valuable even though you may have lost plants in the process! I always say the best lessons learned is through trial, error and experience, and you have achieved just that. How are all your plants going? xx

      @@ThatFoliageLife My chilli plants and herbs (on windows) are kinda stressed and tired from all the sun, as we didnt had a rainy day for like 3 months now. Trying to give them the best options, they got always water and all, but they sure miss some cloudy days for rest. :D As we all do! :D
      All indoor plants are just enjoying the more shaded spots where they are for whole year, and seems pretty happy :D Got so much new growth, every time i take them into the shower to water and wash off the dust, i cant stop being enchanted by how lovely they grow.. :)) And cats not only finally learned not to chew my baby leaves, but seem to really enjoy the company of plants, as they make new nap spots in between the pots, in nice shade from the leaves.. like in the jungle. :D Its adorable.
      I hope you are doing just as well!! :)

    few months seems a bit long to wait to fertilize if there is new growth in spring and summer. do you still recommend that for new plants?

    Hi, just found your site and I’m a pretty new plant parent. Do you wipe your leaves after spraying with Eco or Vitality Plus? I’ve had an infestation of mites or thrips and have been spraying with Neem oil for 7 days as instructed n the bottle. Not sure if it’s helping. Should I cut off the leaves where they’ve been? I have a small ficus that was given to me and it seems like all the leaves have some browning. Can I cut it back and hope for new growth? Thanks for any advice you can give me

    • @ThatFoliageLife
      @ThatFoliageLife  Рік тому +1

      If you have another space that has light that's away from your other plants and the leaves aren't touching, that should be fine.

    Thank you for sharing this bcuz some of these i didnt know. I ended up getting fungus gnats infestation (i didnt check the plant when i brought it home) and i still havent gotten rid of them they really wont go away. And i cant get certain pest control sprays or granules, where i live. Im frustrated w/ these pests and im ready to throw my plants away soon. But i will try changing the soil. Hopefully that helps.
    I also have monstera Andsonii and im dying to cut it back to make it bushy but i only have 7 leafs and ive had it since Aug. 2023. I think i will get a moss pole and let it grow more. Im new to having plants too. I got a large succulent and the soil is very wet all the time so i think i should change the soil bcuz thats where the gnats breed. Anyways thanks for the tips, i appreciate it.

      I had a really bad case of fungus gnats with my Calathea but managed to save it - I made a hydrogen peroxide wash, which is 3% hydrogen peroxide added to water. I can't remember the exact ratio, but I think it was 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 3 parts water. I'd mix both in a watering can and then literally pour the entire thing onto the soil. I'd do this every time it needed watering until I didn't see any flies anymore. Bare in mind, that the wash helps kill off the larvae but doesn't kill the adult flies, you'll need to get sticky traps to catch the adults to avoid them laying more eggs

      @aliciaeke895 thank you for the tip! It turns out I got dark winged fungus gnats. I haven't been find that many now. I have flowers on my balcony in peat moss and I think thats where they are coming from. I put sticky traps out there and sprayed insecticide spray. The dark winged gnats are darker and a but bigger then fungus gnats. I killed so many lol
