I am glad it worked out for you! I had 2x12" subwoofers fitted. They are the flat type and fit quite comfortably. They are available in 8" and 10" sizes as well. You can ask audio supplier for the correct ones based on your requirements. 👌🏻

Can the Hilux seat make to recline?
Not the standard seat, it has a fixed point at the top and therefor no mechanism at the bottom to enable reclining👍🏻

Thank you very much! Yes, the box will still fit without cutting the hooks on the back of the seat. If you want want to do it that way, you will have to remove the bolts holding the hinges to the floor. then move the seat forward a bit so that the box can fit behind it. Then hook back the seat and bolt it down again. just be sure that the box is the correct size for the space that is available.👌

What if you can not pull the lever or hatch under the back seat?
Then you are going to struggle to unlatch the hooking points under the seat
Is this going to work with the 2022 model, I wonder. In this model, the rear bench seat is a split seat..
Hi Marcus, as far as I have seen, the backrest can still be unbolted and the hooks can still be trimmed down so that the backrest can then fold forward. To be sure, unbolt the seat and have a look at the rear of the backrest. You should be able to see if there is anything that hinders this method. Thanks for your support! 👌🏻

Hi Radesh, my enclosure is 120cm wide, 34cm high, 11cm thick at the top and 13cm thick at the bottom. The space is very limited, so be very sure to have the measurements of your subwoofer at hand to check if it will fit or to make some adjustments to your box! 👍
What if it's a 2016 Hilux?

That would be fun, but I sold the vehicle. I might get another one in the future and will keep it in mind. But the bass was a significant improvement over a stock system.

No No No - There is a Russian video which says do not cut, bend the U shaped 'bolt' on the rear panel down, never cut if you can simply bend - I always tell my son K I S Son
Thanks for the tip! I did try that at first but the backrest was too loose that way. The u shaped bracket moves slightly forward when bent down too much. The backrest then rattled the whole time. So I had to bend them back up and cut the hooks shorter. The downwards bend only allows for slight adjustments👌

Does not work on my 2009 3.0 elegant.?
Is the elegant also a double cab hilux? If it is, I believe all the double cab models from 2005-2015 have the same bolt and hook locations.

Do they look the same? And did you remove the bolts at the bottom to remove it?
