Yea same. I used to go on their site all the time to make computers. I see that not much has changed in their pricing. still would like to get one someday though.
I can remember seeing an ad for them everytime I exited to desktop from a game called Wizardry 8. It was always a funny thing to see from a game putting a static ad in right as you exit, all from a game released back around 2000 or 2001.
Falcon NW is so freakin' cool. I spent MANY hours on their system configuration page as a teen, fantasizing about owning a system from them someday. They don't come cheap, obviously, but they also kind of exist in a league of their own in the world of pre-built PCs.
Man. Falcon Northwest. This brings me BACK. There used to be a show on UA-cam called "Project Lore". It was a group of friends playing World of Warcraft, and they were sponsored by Falcon I think. They made these little shoebox-sized machines that were perfect for LAN parties and such, WAY back when. I don't think there were a lot of companies doing this at the time. NICE.
I'm pretty sure one of the first 3Dmark benchmarks had an ad in the loading screen saying "this would be done now if it was running on a Falcon" it was quite cheeky in a way.
I love my two Falcons. They are my favorite computers I've ever had. The one on one experience with their team was amazing. I still use the mug and mouse pad they sent me. Building my own rig since the last build from them makes me appreciate their attention to detail even more.
I remember Falcon Northwest's ads on CGW magazine i always bought when I'm still in junior high-school back in 90's. Their specs are always my dream machine back then. It's good to see that they still on the game and still churning quality builds. Thanks for the review!
I love my Tiki. It ran flawlessly for 9 years until finally the GPU (which I believe was a GeForce GTX 760) just aged out in terms of gaming performance. Amazing engineering, and customer service/support too.
i love that falcon northwest is still out there doing it big and never sold out. i remember seeing all their builds in maximum pc. i always wanted the cube with a handle for lan parties
I love Falcon-NW PCs :) My parents had a falcon-NW back in 2007 and there house burned down but the PC survived and worked after the fire. it was in a room with an intense fire too.
No Gigabyte parts then? 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously, that is some going! If I were them I'd ask if I could use that in "What our customers say" if they have such. That is just awesome. Pity they are 7000 miles away from me.
I remember Falcon Northwest from adverts in MadOnion (now 3d/Futuremark) benching programs. Their attention to customer focus has been whats kept them in the game for so long. Here's to many more years to come Falcon!
Falcon Northwest was the gold standard for me back in the day when I was getting started in my PC hobby. Glad to see them showcased here and still producing top tier systems.
Speaking of thermals....summer is around the door. So it's time for the annual cleanout the PC's of dustbunnies and old fluids/gunk. Would love to see a Jayz cleanup guide/recommendations 2023
Every single time I see a video on one of their builds it lives up to the expectations and then some. I'll never be able to afford one, but they really seem to build superb PC's.
I'm glad Falcon Northwest gets to be shown, Puget had some videos by Linus at least in the past so the brand got some recognition, this one is on par and deserves to be (re)known too. Maingear could be the same but I don't know much about them...
Jay you forgot this is a 7800X3D and not your 7950X. The base clock for applications is a bit lower (and 6 cores less too!) but the CPU bangs in games and needs SIGNIFICANTLY less power. Which also keeps it significantly cooler. Therefore, the small AIO is sufficient without further ado. Especially since the ~88 degrees in Cinebench represent the worst case because the CPU will never reach that in games. I just wouldn't recommend putting a 13900k in there. Not even the 13700k that Falcon offers. Because look at their website they swap the AIO for an Intel Top Blow air cooler which is guaranteed to produce a turbine-like sound when the Intel CPU is challenged...
How far SFF has come in the past decade is really incredible. 😍 But 3,500$... you can get the same performance and above for half that price if you build your own ATX build.
These system assembler prebuilts are never about lower prices. If you want that you can go for a Dell or HP or Lenovo desktop where they've got economies of scale going. You'll get the similar price to buying straight components but with little to no upgrade ability, and you might get some weird specs. The point of these prebuilts is that you get a well-built, well-tuned system that just works out of the box without messing around with assembly, software installation, and lots of tuning. It's a time and experience vs. money question, and a lot of folks want a good machine without having to understand how to tune fan curves and power settings. I had to reflash my desktop OS a few months ago and took about five attempts to get the Windows ISO to properly flash to a USB drive. It took running the Microsoft flash drive utility in a windows virtual machine on my Linux box to actually get it to work right. After fighting with it for ten hours I was planning to run it to a PC repair shop instead of continuing fighting when I realized the above solution.
$3500 is the base price for this computer. If you change the GPU, CPU, and RAM to what is in the video it is around $5000. If you would build it yourself it would cost around $3000. So you are looking at a $2000 mark up. This is the kind of computer that someone like Henry Cavill would buy if he did get bored in-between movies and decide to build his own. The extra 2 grand is for all the R&D for the case, and the fact that if you have issues you can talk to a knowledgeable person in North America to help you.
This thing speced out like the one in the review is $4588 US dollars. For me I would rather build my own in a Fractal Meshify C and use an Arctic liquid freezer ll 240 and save $2000 dollars.
Wow who would have thought you could buy PC parts yourself and assemble them and save money when compared to a pre-built PC. Profound revelations in this here thread. Really softens me penis.
Its my goal in life...or one of them to order a falcon nw one day. Ive actually owned a used desktop from them i bought on ebay it was broken...only thing broke was the aio...so ive seen their build quality myself in person and its top notch.
Falcon Northwest is one of the most underrated SI's by everyone except their customers. They've been the same brand with the same logo since way back and I'm glad Jay put some more eyes on them. I've never bought an SI, but all my friend with FNW systems kept them until they decided to upgrade, they were never forced by system failure. Did anyone else read Computer Power User magazine during the golden age of PC magazines? What was your rag of choice?
It's good to see FalconNW still around and doing their thing at a higher level than most other prebuilts. With ShuttlePC out of the picture I guess it was Falcon's turn at making such a small PC using custom hardware.
Yeah that brings back a lot of memories. I've been drooling over their computers as long as I can remember and I actually just ordered a Talon that I'll be getting in a few weeks. I can't wait. I've built my own PCs but this thing is really really sweet! Sure it's ridiculously expensive but I just happened to have come into a bunch of extra money because of a job that I'm doing for a client, so I'm going for it! 😎
Falcon Northwest also has exceptionally good customer service - they answer the phone on the first or second ring during business hours, which, having dealt with, say, the nightmare of OriginPC during the pandemic, was pretty awesome.
i have this same tower. currently it has a 2080 super, i9-9900, 32GB Ram, 4TB of storage. Its been a micro beast and if i ever do another prebuilt i will only deal with Falcon Northwest
A comment about the sponsor: Those 90 degree 12v power adapters are 100% functional, but they are aesthetically backwards. If you buy a cablemod cable to go with it, the connection will work, but the shroud will be backwards. So save a dollar and don't order a shroud if you're going to use a 90 deg (or 180) adapter.
-- Falcon has been around a long time. So have I. They've been quality since I was in high school in the 90s. I build my own, always do, but if somehow a day ever came that I didn't, Falcon Northwest would be my only go to for a pre-built. Just not this one though. I need at least a solid full mid tower. :)
I built the same more or less some years ago. I still love it. I think moving air in a box than blowing it out will get old the more power we get in component.
I vividly remember the last review you did on a Falcon Northwest product and how impressed I was then. I am even more impressed now. Great Vid Jay, just wish they were more accessible is South Africa.
Glad to see Falcon still around. I remember reading about them in all the pc mags back in the early 2000s. Didn’t even know they are basically in my backyard, I wounder if they do factory tours.
I loved the Falcon I had in the living room many years ago. Was a good system but sold it when it was time for an upgrade. Wish I had kept the case though because it was really well desined. Nowadays I doubt id even consider buying from them. Ive been on a craze of shoving my PCs into server racks and feel like its the way Im going moving forward.
I wish other tech UA-camrs talked about these guys more. I get the Origin, Maingear, and the other boutique SI's have more options and are probably cheaper, but when you're the point of getting a PC shipped to you in a literal crate, I don't know if price is an issue, and you'd want better quality than what gets shipped from them.
Man I completely forgot about this company! I love that the trend in the PC market has been smaller form factor builds instead of gigantic full towers with E-ATX boards and 5 GPUs
I love these small form factor builds so much. My current main rig (12900k, Asus Strix 4090 OC) is built inside an Asus Helios, which is a pretty damn big mid-tower case. My spare parts PC (7700k, EVGA 3090 FTW3) is built in a Corsair 200R, which is a pretty small mid-tower case. I'm thinking about getting a Fractal case, ITX board and SRX PSU and going small form factor on my spare parts build. My spare parts rig is mainly a HTPC and is therefore hooked up to a TV in the living room, so a small form factor build would suit it well. I just wonder about that 3090 FTW3 fitting inside them. It's small compared to the 4090 OC but it's still a pretty damn big card itself.
I own a old Laptop from them and while it's no longer the latest and greatest from a GPU perspective. It still runs great with only some small bugs on the Audio driver. Love them and how long they lasted compared to other laptops I've owned.
Falcon NW is the computer I always dreamed of having back in the early 2000s. Maybe if I decide jot to build my next PC and buy instead, I would go with one...Wish they still did the custom automotive finishes instead of just the custom UV prints these days, though...
Jay back at reviewjng Asus system and PC components! Haha you love Asus huh? This is a beautiful system from falcon! Man that ProArr RTX4080 looks awesome and compact wow!
The Corsair 1, is by far better SFF PC than any other RTS PC out there. Even better than this one as well. But, one must say this and admit, that a regular user can service this one much much easier than Corsair, and can easily do so without any required extensive background experience. Awesome PC tbh.
I understand there is a wide audience for small cases that wants to see how small they can go while putting the most and more powerful stuff efficiently inside the very limited space, but I would love to see more stuff for big cases. Space is not a problem for me and I love the ease of access bigger cases provide for maintenance and customization.
There are plenty of big cases out there. SFF while the audience is large, it's a pretty small selection but growing. most of the reason is because of non-standard configurations, compared to ATX.
They do the Talon for that use case. I've got to say their rigs are excellent, though I'd make some different parts choices. Their execution is top-notch.
@@vreevroowight and mini ITX has been a popular choice for builds for about a decade now too. This isn't anything new. What we should be focusing on in fact is MATX and finally getting some premium motherboards for that size. Most people don't need ATX, and mini ITX is really limiting in a large number of ways. MATX is the perfect solution for most people. And this would help cut down on costs for the majority of PC builders. Yet MATX remains the least loved and least chosen form factor.
I've wanted a falcon northwest since i was a teen in the mid 90s, they wete just always such a premium product that it was outside of my financial ability. One day i will have one!
I've never purchased from an SI because I'm a snob and want to build the way I want it. However, this is an SI that I would actually purchase from - they have the renown and reputation that has stood the test of time. When other SIs are getting backlash for being glorified scam artists or have a dick and balls for a logo, Falcon Northwest continues to provide outstanding products and service, and also throw in extra goodies to boot. I'm happy to see they're still kicking ass. Good on them 🍻
when i watch Jayz i trust his word's on what pc to buy. you're always 100% giving such accurate reviews on stuff you either built or pre built and this is why i watch your channel and watch the video's you post even the funny one's the with phil dying in the background of laughter i love that video hehe
To be honest as a kid of the 80's/90's it was the recovery USB that really did it for me. Back in the day when a recovery disc be it floppy or cd/dvd was essential due to the madness that was searching for actual drivers.
It's like finding out that JC Whitney still exists. As I start watching this video and seeing the specs I'm thinking no way is this something I can afford but I'll keep watching anyway.
Man, it's been probably 20 years since I thought about Falcon Northwest. Good to see they're still around.
Yea same. I used to go on their site all the time to make computers. I see that not much has changed in their pricing. still would like to get one someday though.
dang! its nice to see Falcon Northwest still in the game ! i remember dreaming about their rigs when i was a teen. lol that being a 5k$ rig..
Thanks, you saved me from the clickbait title.
Remember when they talked about car finish paint jobs.😮
They're re introducing metal fans like a glorious innovation, metal fans...

Just got my 4th Falcon NW. 13900K/4090FE. I love it. They are not cheap but if you want the best this is it.

Whenever I watch Jay getting excited about computer hardware it gives me motivation to keep working on my case. Thanks Jay!
I remember losing my mind when the very first Tiki was launched. Marble base?!?!? Loved it.
Let's see if thisone lives up!
Falcon NW is the computer I always dreamed of having back in the early 2000s. Maybe if I decide jot to build my next PC and buy instead, I would go with one...Wish they still did the custom automotive finishes instead of just the custom UV prints these days, though...
That Tiki as configured would be perfect to mount to a dedicated Sim Racing Rig.
Jay back at reviewjng Asus system and PC components! Haha you love Asus huh? This is a beautiful system from falcon! Man that ProArr RTX4080 looks awesome and compact wow!
I remember drolling over FNW rigs since I started PC gaming in the mid/late 90s. Kinda crazy they are still around and doing cool things.
My most recent PC, from the depths of the GPU drought, is a Falcon NW. I will never build my own again.
Thanks trexill!
FNW is a great resource. So happy Jay is reviewing it.
This is not extremely small. It's extremely space inefficient.
@@c.m.7037 You can fit an SFX power supply, a top of the line gpu, and a 360 radiator in under 10L. Not really non-standard.
I live 30 minutes away from Medford, OR and never knew they were right down the road all these years! Crazy
Cool to see a good brand.
Have fun mate!
It's just... BEAUTIFUL
I have always wanted a Falcon Northwest PC, some of the custom paint work they do is insane! Thanks for sharing this Jay 😎
To be honest as a kid of the 80's/90's it was the recovery USB that really did it for me. Back in the day when a recovery disc be it floppy or cd/dvd was essential due to the madness that was searching for actual drivers.
Man that box of cables and stuff is a gem
Big props to the company
Definitely, I built two computers and am always running out of cables (especially the Sata ones are never the right number or size).
Since 1992 have two of there system's AWESOME that is all i got to say, also enjoy Puget Systems PC's as well, great video J.
Yayyy, content with actual testing in it! Thank you!
Not gonna lie that’s pretty insane
These guys seem cool, they should get more promotion
my first pc was a Falcon fragbox
Used to get on their configurator when I was like 15 all the time day dreaming about my godly PC. Such sexy machines.
It's like finding out that JC Whitney still exists. As I start watching this video and seeing the specs I'm thinking no way is this something I can afford but I'll keep watching anyway.
I love the F NW Cases!
