Jay I think we'll definitely be invested in a series of videos for this build. I would actually like to see the model building for this build as well. What I'd say when it comes to the re-paint, maybe do some holes where it looks like shells shot through the case. This is going to be a cool build and I'm already excited to see how it goes

Jay. As a viewer. Nothing provides me more entertainment the watching you fantasise and get exited about stuff. I feel a lot of viewers come here to watch somebody who loves to build and tinker, actually build and tinker. Watching you drill and learn and solder. Super fun and super entertaining.

form _from_ function, unlike todays cases which usually tend to be form _over_ function (ditching features cause they "look bad" or because "who's using this anymore")
Sounds awesome 🤩; Just as an idea what to do with the passthroughs: You could run some tubing on the bottom of the Submarine layer and make them look like oil-pipelines on the ground of the ocean and use it to transport your fluid from the pump to the gpu or so on. Also in that case I would use something like the Go-Chiller graphite based liquid to mimic the oil
I was thinking something similar, but instead of just running pipes, why not create his own reservoir out of acrylic in the bottom, with the ships inside the reservoir. (Probably not doable because you need to keep the loop clean...)
@ActionBrother Maybe just paint and decorate the hard line to look like pipework. Also, add some graphics in the back of the bottom section with something that makes sense in the represented diorama. Like often is done with aquariums just by pasting a poster to the back.
I just thought. With you underwater in the bottom, you could make a custom res for the bottom and make it look like your loop was pulling the ocean water up from the bottom to the cooling components up top! Could look like a really cool scene.
I think what would be cool would be a diorama in the bottom and the PC itself built kinda like a boiler system on an old ship. Copper piping, old dial gauges showing temps and pressures, etc.
Here's my vote for showing us this build every step of the way. I'm excited and I'd love to see this being built from start to finish. This idea has so much potential for creativity!
I really hope you do this. As soon as you started talking model ships in the build I instantly thought of adding subs, underwater mines, etc to the lower section...so many things you can do with that much space and still fit in a hell of a computer. Man, this would be awesome!
Hello Hello From Canada!!!! This is what I have been looking forward to for years ever since I saw you doing the custom airbrushed case mods for Phil's friend and showing so much customization potential with your model builds. You could airbrush a underwater landscape and a sub being attacked from above. You could have EK make you a distro plate that covers the bottom of the case and mount the ships onto the reservoir with epoxy waves and other surface details like that. I would be watching this build every day if you got busy doing airbrush work and adding your techniques to it to create a truly "Jay" themed build. Great ideas.
Hi Jay! Just wanted to say I'd love to see the whole process! I think some people would be object to seeing the model building, but there are many people like myself who enjoy models just as much as you. Maybe a timelapse would be the best way to go to show it, but watching someone build a model is just as satisfying as watching someone build a PC. Thanks for the great content, can't wait for more
Like the idea of this build! Seeing that you need to make a wall to hide the power supply behind maybe it's an idea to have a distribution plate attached to that vertical/long way. Then you could see the water moving through the epoxy resin in which the sub is
Skunk works was the reason I brought my SM8! It would be really cool to see you integrate a singularity power board and distroblock, and really optimize your cable routing. Skunkworks was always the best of the best, routed in the most thoughtful way with cutting edge parts. I'm looking forward to this build being the next iteration of that journey
oddly enough, i remember the leak that caused that mark. i do love the project you are talking about. you may even be able to get the sweden company to get you another case that has the separator in the lower chamber to hide the psu. i look forward to seeing this build becoming a battle scene pc.
Always enjoy your themed builds. And that sounds like an incredible combo. Personally I'd see about getting some old gauges and equipment from a salvage site to make it look like a part of a control system for a ship. But I have to admit, I wish I could sneak in and run off with this case. It pains me to think about it being sliced and diced (or resin'd). Its yours to do what you want with, but I might not be able to watch it happen. I don't know what it is about it but I always wanted one of these from the moment I saw it on your channel (it wasn't an option for me at the time though). I do have to admit it'd end up looking like something out of mad max within a year in my hands just because I'd find ways to fill the space with more and more components.
That would be an awesome build to follow along with. Speaking of patina, patina the case to look like a ship that's been in the ocean for a few tours, including the below water line red.
YES. Just.. YES!! Granted, we won't see the finished product for like 5 years (I say this with appreciation, just realistic) I would LOVE to see that. The vision of that is amazing!
CaseLabs TX10 was the case larger than the SMA8. You made me want to get a CaseLabs case back when SkunkWorks was a staple of the channel, and by the time I had the funds, the company closed up shop. So I'm glad they're coming back, and I hope that they also create new designs to go along with the classics.
@@smccrory60 agreed. I’m looking into getting a HYTE Y60 to replace my NZXT H710i. Going to do a dual loop and probably going to do some fun stuff with the LCD panel
Love seeing the passion! I could see you building the PC on this channel and maybe seeing the model builds on one of your other channels! Looking forward to this.
Aaaaawesome idea!! I would leave the grey paint of the case and eventually make it look more weathered and used so it looks like the inside of an old warship with copper pipes and fittings for the water cooling. For the diorama you could even use the pump/res combo and make it look like an old lighthouse and I would even hang a small wareplane somewhere up top in the case. Love your videos guys! ❤
Hell yes your subscribers would watch the whole build series! Heck, I'd watch the boat building too. It's great to see your enthusiasm again instead of the recent doom and gloom of Nvidia being butts, AMD blowing up CPUs with vsoc, Gigabyte cards breaking, and so on. I can't wait for the build series, even if it's only 1 or 2 videos a month!

i myself wanto build a Bigbud tractor PC case to show Welker farms 1 yr L8tr & 3 moves & we got move again 30days wtf when i settle down tool shed set up right and a small lathe .
You should paint the case in a Battleship camouflage pattern. That would look sick! I can't wait to see this case built in again and the diorama idea sounds awesome. You may even finish this one Jay in a few short years. Lol.😂🤣
As a fellow (car) modeler, I would love to see you building the boats! May I suggest you to make the case the inside of a aircraft carrier? It may be more planes than boats but the exterior would be the boat.
Yes, please! This case deserves a new lease of life! While I'm not the biggest Boat Guy, it's totally a Jay thing and would fit nicely - can't get more personalized than this. Would love to see a build like this, so I'm settling in for a long one!
The whole time you were talking about painting the case I was thinking paint it for the display. Blue sky with clouds in the back and all around the outside. Then blue to match the water and darker going darker with the depth. Add in some planes or other stuff for effect. Maybe a dogfight scene. Just thinking out loud. Glad to see you so excited after being down about delays.
I love watching these builds but it makes me sad looking at my 12 year old PC knowing its gonna take a bank loan just to be able to afford getting another one....
@@squidwardo7074 yeah but I want something that's not gonna need upgrades in 2-3 years and unfortunately most of the builds for $1000-$1500 use stuff that is probably not even going to meet recommended specs for games by then

As someone who loves modeling(in the middle of a Model Factory Hiro 1/12 McLaren MP4-4).... you must do this build! The above water and below water scene would be incredible! Let's go!!!
I'm not sure if I would be much into a video on the models, but getting epoxy into the case would be awesome. Especially if you were able to rig it so that the PSU and other components are still removable.

relic the case like the ship - do the ship and the sub below - got to have some sort of depth charge going off - smokey coolant - just do it! it will be awesome!
I 100% would watch a series about a diorama build in this case. Fun idea is if you could use the air flow from intake/exhaust to create motion in the diorama. Like flags/banners fluttering in the wind.
100% would be invested in a build like this. Your build videos are brought me to your channel in the 1st place and I've enjoyed all of them ever since.

Im also enjoying World of Warships, i mainly use battleships, i love the Hannover. I hope this project comes togheter. would love to see a Fletcher class dropping some depth charges on a u boat :D
I think you could leave the case coating exactly like it is. It's already a battleship gray color, and the scratches fit right in. All war ships are going to have some scrapes on them. You don't want a perfect paint job. Instead maybe just find a few items to attach to the case to support the ship theme. It's going to look great.
It is fantastic to see Jay really excited about something. Lately the videos have seemed a lot more serious than normal. This is Jay at his best, thinking, planning and getting passionate about his builds. Would love to see it, would love to see maybe a plane in there somewhere
Jay lifts the SMA8 onto the desk... and i instantly went YESSSSSS!!!!!!! arms in the air. LOVE that case. i tried for years to find one for sale that wasnt all busted up. Still no luck. BUT i think i have the one modern case thats most like it. the 7000D.
DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT. I reckon you could use the Singularity distro plate you talked about as the sea on which the Destroyer floats - just need a deep blue coolant colour. The tubes into the distro plate could be made to look like water columns exploding up from depth charges.
Also everyone has that one build they are so nostalgic about and they love that build. For me it was my old Antec 1200 case with a 4870x2 in it and a E8400. Some days man I still miss Dimitri.
You could have a transparent screen at the bottom adding effect to the sub diorama and a mechanical 3d printed gears moving it it with the waves. Since you may be going for the naval aesthetic you can paint rust on it, add rivets and use a naval ship color/pattern.
Show the making of the models for the build. I think a lot of us would like that as it would tie into the complete build from beginning to end. I can't wait to see this be completed in a few years.
Please go through with this and finish it, I'm confident it would look amazing!! Also if you go hard tubes, go crazy with a spiral loop. It would look dope!
this just gave me the idea I needed for my next build. Now I just need to track down the right models for some of the equipment I used during my time in the army.
Man, all those years ago I started watching your videos and Skunkworks was an absolute inspiration to build PCs, the hype with new GPUs and seeing that monster with dual or triple SLI was a delight. I live in a country where this sort of thing is rare still today, but more popular than way back then, and I dreamed of building a sick PC such as this, still a work in progress but getting there, I'm glad you decided to bring it back, I can't wait to see how it turns out. Also, don't think I've forgotten that time you drilled through a motherboard, Jay, I still remember.
*looks to my right, SMA8 still on my desk* Love to see it coming back, and that’s a great idea to utilize the basement. This would also just be me, but EK’s vertical GPU mount with the offset fits perfectly into this case and would help fill it out. Just an idea. Can’t wait to see where this goes.
Jay make a flat reservoir at the bottom, with some blue water and suspend the sub with Fluorocarbon fishing line from the top, bottom and sides of the sub suspend it behind the rez... Then you don't need the font clear panel, or a giant heavy resin chunk.
Holy shit!!! I love seeing you work in this case! Please do both model videos and build. The idea sounds super awesome! And seeing your excitement is just funny and heartwarming
Reading thru some comments... I think Jay really NEEDS this now... and I think the hobby does too. All the doom and gloom with Nvidia, the pandemic price gouging etc... shortages, scalpers, miners... all the B.S. To see an iconic case resurrected... and see Jay's passion and joy come thru again... we ALL need this.
if you had a large enough distroplate you could mount longways on that bottom portion, it could provide the “underwater” view for the submarine. i’m pretty sure tinkering with the rgb could help provide and underwater look. then you could just mount the sub and depth charges behind it
After literally admitting that he needs to finish several other things, Jay immediately starts a new project. Never change!

Here we go again pc number 6 on the going , good size case should hold a lot of dust i guess. look forward to seeing the finished build next year.
Please go through with this and finish it, I'm confident it would look amazing!!
Also if you go hard tubes, go crazy with a spiral loop. It would look dope!
STH-10! Its my current case and i love the customisation available!
That sounds amazing Jay. It would be fun to watch. Please make it happen.
this just gave me the idea I needed for my next build.
Dude I can only dream of a build like this, just don't drop any depth charges on a Gato class and we're good.
Yes Jay, please make videos chronicling this build.
Very excited for this build. All your stuff is great, but any build where you get to show off your artistic side or mod someone is unmatched.
Use a giant reservoir tank for your loop and have ships floating around inside of it.
Holy shit!!! I love seeing you work in this case! Please do both model videos and build. The idea sounds super awesome! And seeing your excitement is just funny and heartwarming
You could use one of those orb reservoirs and 3d print little cone spikes for it. Make it an underwater mine
Builds like that are why I started watching this channel. Tech reviews aren't as interesting to me but the all out custom builds are awesome
According to their website, Caselabs shut down due to Tarrifs in 2018.
i would absolutely love to see videos about this vision coming to life! 100%!! [id even want to watch the model building/painting]
Reading thru some comments...
I think Jay really NEEDS this now... and I think the hobby does too. All the doom and gloom with Nvidia, the pandemic price gouging etc... shortages, scalpers, miners... all the B.S.
To see an iconic case resurrected... and see Jay's passion and joy come thru again... we ALL need this.
if you had a large enough distroplate you could mount longways on that bottom portion, it could provide the “underwater” view for the submarine. i’m pretty sure tinkering with the rgb could help provide and underwater look. then you could just mount the sub and depth charges behind it
To carry on with the theme, you could make a mineral oil section and use the case fans to have irl micro wave
