The fact that this is a husband and wife duo making this beautifully written game only makes me appreciate it more... Left a comment for them once, got a heartfelt response back - I wish for them blessings and success beyond compare and hope to see the many more artistic worlds they may weave in the future...

There is massive amount of thought put into the mechanics and it really shows. My first two hours of this game was like what, huh, how, and why. Once you get past the initial learning curve you can see the brilliance of the game.
It will seem punishing at first. It will seem confusing at first. You will loose limbs, you will loose territory, and you will loose characters. It's 100% worth it.
Don't stop until you understand multiple infusions, have experienced a transformation or two, and have fought a battle you shouldn't have won but did. By then you won't need anyone to explain how awesome this game is.

Yes!!! The writing is so beautiful and poetic, it made me want to play longer and longer! I might have to scrawl down quotes from time to time haha.

The Mage is definitely my favourite. That play with infusing the fire was clutch. Also the way magick works in this game is really cool. It's honestly one of the things that got me to buy it.
Wish you'd made this into a series though. I'd have loved to see what happens with this quest.

One of THE best indie games. Been with it since it released into early access and was already excellent then. Super happy for the developers, they created a true gem.
Picked it up after seeing you recc it last.
Gotta say, it was a good buy and I really want to see more content in this game (more variance, deeper mechanics) and from this team.
This channel is THE PERFECT CHANNEL when it comes to entertainment AND looking for good games. I love this channel, the person that runs it, and the games that are on it. Sometimes I find myself browsing steam looking for something to play and when I finally find something that piques my interest, I ask myself if Splatt has played it on his channel.
The answer to that question nine times out of ten is yes, yes he has. He does an extremely good job of explaining literally everything about the game. I recommend this channel to literally anyone that is looking for something to play or just wants some entertainment as Splatt can do both extraordinarily well.
Splat, your channel is a constant goldmine of good games and laughs. I'm thankful I've enough disposable income to buy games like these when I see your videos, though my hard drive is not very thankful for the amount of games that I put on it...
And I am buying this one right now, gonna try it too after I finish this wave in the Last Spell... Which I also bought after seeing your video on it, uh, last week or when it was.
Lastly, I am thankful that you keep creating the good content that you do. Peace.
If you still have a game to play, just delay buying it for a week. Its scheduled to release on 15th, and there should be a discount on it. Of course if money arent a hindrance, feel free to give more money to the devs. They've done a good job on this.
@@KiNASuki Haha yeah I get ya, thanks for the concern but I did buy it pretty much immediately after posting this. I would have at most saved a few euros, that don't matter too much to me (I am at a stage in my life where I spend more money on take-out lunches at work than on video games) and I have enjoyed the game so I don't regret it. One can tell it is a labor of love for the devs and I don't that at all giving them a bit of extra money :D

I found this game thanks to your earlier exposure on it and I give you my thanks. It's a great game with impressive procedurally generated roguelike mechanics and the synergies of them as well.
The Sentinel ability is really awesome! :) I had a character that had an ability that gave him an extra reaction attack, and then the upgraded version gave him two more. He also had untouchable and wolf's call. Basically, I'd stick him in the middle of a bunch of weaker mobs, set him to sentinel, then watch him jump around one shotting anything that moves. Lol. If you get the wolf transformation, it's even better, because you can get a free bite attack before going into sentinel mode.
This is one of the games that I am happiest with having bought. "Stunt" refers to your chance to do something special with a "critical hit."
Great game with a really engaging dev team! A month ago I went to their subreddit to ask what everyones favorite encounters were (For my DnD 5e campaign) and the mod sent me a link to a file full of their creatures converted to 5e!

honestly splat you are easily my fav gaming channel on youtube not a huge fan of indie games in general but i dont think you have show cased a video where i didnt end up buying the game you just make every game you review seem real intresting

I love this game and will be eternally grateful to Splatt for introducing me to it. I have a large pool of legacy characters whose stories I am completely invested in. If you like RPGs in any form whatsoever you should buy this game.
Watched your video, bought the game halfway through haha. It's AWESOME! I'm a huge d&d fan, and this is definitely right up my alley. I did the 3 chapter Ulstryx story last night in one sitting. Tons of fun. Started my next campaign with new characters but might introduce my chosen legacy character Ninagwar Kairdwyn (customized for my first play through). So many neat features!

But this games looks easy to spend DAYS playing! I love the cartoon-style text boxes and that the figurines are then cut-out when engaged on the battlefield.

around 25:00 i noticed a hesitancy to use interfuse. If one uses interfuse ahead of the group it's like scouting ahead. There's a chance the mystic will sense where the bad guys are up ahead if they happen to be close to the object infused. Doesn't always work but it's sometimes helpful.

That game has been flying under the radar for a while now. It is really well polished and the devs are on top of creating more content. I truly don't want to "poach" but Jess did a short playthrough on our channel. (I doubt Splattercat will do a series on it, otherwise I would never post this haha).

Yea I kinda wish we could edit some mechanics like lifespan, short, medium, long lifespans but it's alright the way it is too.

I had this untouched in my steam library for around a year now. It's great to see that it's finally leaving early access, maybe I'll finally get into a first playthrough.

I love this game, play it for 103 hours as it stated on my steam library, still come back to play from time to time to see whats new from latest update
I love that you actually get visual changes depending on the gear and what have you. It's always a massive let down when games don't have this feature. It's usually JRPG's that do this.
I know there was a Dragon Quest on the DS that did this, and it was a huge selling point of the game. Then they rolled it back and the new one has the characters remain the same throughout the whole game.
Honestly, it's something I always look for in games, and I'll actually not buy them because of this.
The game is absolutely wonderful. If you stick to it then it becomes a joy to watch your characters grow, suceed and stumble in life, finding meaning and tragedy. Amazing stories await. I really hope this gets more visibility, it has the potential to become a cult game.
Coop in this game would be amazing. Also thanks for changing my mind about the genre.

Bought this awhile ago and shelved it for 1.0. Looks good.
Ran and downloaded this game after I saw the video. I super happy with it in the 'tutorial' finally finished the next day. Then started the next one. Not to enthused anymore I've already seeing repeats of events and some of the variability it starting to seem rather shallow. Kind of disappointed at the moment, I hope this is smooths out as I guess they are still in but I still don't regret it though. During the prolog I was having a blast, that alone was worth like 6 hours of fun. I was immediately concerned of the depth of randomness when I got the same gemstone event Splat had and that worsened during the 2nd campaign where I have seen two events that I had during the 'tutorial'.
my post is getting a bit long but I also wish to praise this some more because it felt so DAM GOOD!! to play a RPG that I wasn't spending copious amount of time gathering, crafting, managing my inventory etc. This game seems to understand the fundamentals of an RPG and do it right. I want more games like this!

I just read that this game has co-op and if they handle that part of the game well I'm probably going to buy it.
This game went sentient on me. I named all my guys after Marvel characters for the heck of it...resulted in warrior Bucky making a 'strange' joke at Mystic Strange and hunter Sam Wilson is slowly turning into an actual bird. This is too spookeh for me, 10/10.

I love the character progression ideas, but the paper cutout art style is not for me. Might pick it up just to see though.
This is right up my ally. I actually proposed something vaguely similar in r/gameideas.
Basically, it would be a user-enhanced RPG where all the quests, monsters, and items are madlibs generated by the AI, and taken from files submitted by users. Users could design their own weapons, mobs, quest madlibs, and stuff like that. If approved, it would end up in anyone's game, randomly. It's sort of difficult to explain, really...

this game is so awesome. It's unique and well worth the purchase. I hope we can make modern day compaigns or futuristic campaigns in the future. I do not like the character designs (they look like boomer age comic characters) and I hope modding overhauls that aspect

After playing through the Ultryx a few times, I've noticed that the more efficiently you're crew clears a battle map, with the least amount of damage taken, (or no damage taken) The higher the gear rewards, and the higher chance of characters getting either an ability upgrade, or a ability.
Feels like a tamer version of Kingdom Death
Ever so vaguely. I love the KDM enemy AI decks and wish procedural games would use that concept - feels like compromise between Dark Souls rote behaviors or traditional AI.
