I have been playing since D1 Beta. I have never seen a guide like this about movement, enemy projectile tracking, etc. I like this guide and I believe it will help me survive more encounters. I look forward to more videos like this.
That so much damage can be avoided simply with smart movement is an underrated quality of Destiny enemy design that a lot of games still get wrong. It stops it from turning in a pure cover shooter. Great work in the editing.
At certain ranges and difficutlies it feels like you can avoid 90% of the damage or more. In normal strikes I barely get hit at all, it's an huge difference between a new and a good player. I love it when games add skill based defense potential and not just skill based dps.
@@XYZ-ql1fi you do not have a clear understanding of the game if you think so. Go solo a GM by pressing W and left click if you can. Even in legendary if you invis dodge you'll still die if you are getting targetted too much as they track your movement in the animation.
I'm a 4x gilded conqueror, I've done my fair share of solo challenges including GMs, and I learned something new right off the bat with enemies having more accuracy in higher difficulties (no idea how that never even crossed my mind as a possibility). You've also made me recognize just how much what I called "bouncing" or "bounce shooting" contributes to being able to engage enemies like champions solo. Thanks for all the information, your insane Titan play is what I aspire to.
Never heard of you before. I play GMs regularly and consider myself a veteran in general in the game. But THIS opened my eyes to many things I used unconsciously - and far to inconsistently. Plus you seem to favor a titan as well. You got my sub. Great work all around the board!
Exactly! Sometimes I run in and never get touched and I feel like a god. Other times I show up and get sniped in the opening shot. Your doing gods work my guy
This truly feels like a masterclass of endgame teaching. Easy to understand, good examples. If you make nothing else I consider this a mark left. That said, I subscribed. As someone who has a ton of experience in D2, I feel like I learned a lot. Thanks for sharing!
As a relatively new player to Destiny 2 and FPS games in general, I've struggled to get my feet under me, as it were. This is probably the first video I've seen with real information that can actually help to improve my game play. Most PVE guides I've seen offer strategies, which is fine and all, but never just basic skills that most experienced players take for granted. Great job! You've got my sub. Can't wait to see what else you put out.
Literally the most useful general Destiny 2 tutorial I have ever seen. Make more of these videos please, I want to solo/carry through a lot of difficult content, and this really helps.
Hi bro do you mind if I share this video. Best vid on this subject hands down, maybe the only one of its kind. Editing was fantastic with the lil models of each enemy type and such loved it :)
I thought I knew alot but man you've really opened my eyes with this video. I will keep all of this in mind and put it to good use thank you for sharing! Keep up the good work man most of the solo gm content creator's are very underated and are ones that actually give such great advice.
8x conqueror here. this is my experience -old seasons you'll learn to disengage and know the good hiding spots to deal DPS and avoid getting 1 shot. It took a minimum of 3-4 runs to finish a new GM . -new seasons it got easier, unlimited spamming abilities and nades, healing, resilience based builds, invis, unbalanced exotics would mostly get you through a GM. Minimum of 1-2 runs to finish a new GM. -I agree that the arc movement covers almost all bases so it's a must have especially when you're the last fireteam member and need to revive your mates (assuming you're not invis)
My friends always ask why I move around so much when I'm shooting and I now have a video to show them. I play Destiny sorta of like a fps/MMORPG. Movement is one of the easiest ways to avoid dying and to enhance applying (damage).
Older video but super valuable because your viewer walks away smarter than when they arrived. That's the mark of a well engineered presentation. The delivery is very natural and the cuts, for your first time, is smooth. I hope you're still making content (didn't check just watched and subbed).
Honestly this is huge, i never realized till now but i accidentally stumbled across the arc movement from about a year of solo running basically everything. The tips from the first half of the video were actually very useful i never thought to learn the enemies attack patterns which is sad coming from someone who loves bullet hell games.
Been playing the game since d1 alpha/beta and it’s good to see these “lesser known” more intricate parts of this game being explained and explored in more detail. This game is much deeper then many would see at first glance. I find myself doing this stuff second nature BUT that’s through trial and error over 1000s of hours. Nice to see a deeper dive of this sort of stuff. I haven’t really thought about it before. Great video.
Never have seen this type of guide before. Thank you. Great editing and the slow motion illustrates the point 👍. I’m always sucking at DPS (I’m always working my butt off but end up with low kills and high assists) and I’ll work on movement in the meantime. Liked seeing Anarchy and Cryosthesia in some of the cuts
Ik I’m late but cryosthesia is great. One kill and you get a raw super AoE freeze that lets you keep chaining kills? Insane. Only prob is I hate clicking so I’m waiting on that full auto mode
Wow this is literally game changing content. Literally floored that no-one has made content explaining these (surprisingly simple!) mechanics with this degree of clarity before. I already am doing way better in all content, and I can feel how practice will help further improvement. Instant sub, this man deserves it!
i noticed that when i play with my clan who are good at pve endgame they do all this subconsciously while watching people during our sherpa/help runs i mainly see the lack thereof and the results as shown in the video are usually always there. people with good movement and strafe patterns can fully lean into the support class in a gm and run a champion stun, div and aeons (example based on last season) and still topscore because the combat uptime for them is all the higher in comparison. amazing video that shows and explains this concept very well
This is very well done; a good balance between amount of detail on the game mechanics and the higher level application. Many guides usually are far into one of the sides; those on the higher-level side might be like, "Tip 5: against scorn, move left to right. Tip 6: Against Vex jump and strafe...," without explaining the reasons to strafe or whatever. The too detailed ones might unnecessarily spend 10 minutes on just of the many things this guide covered very concisely in that same 10 minutes.
I’ve been trying to put this into words to help my not so good friends get better. Thank god I can just link this now, great job, and thank ATP for recommending it on Twitter!
Oh wow, I've never properly thought about movement in PvE but after seeing this I realise I've been doing most of them for a pretty long time, especially the arc movement and avoiding AOE moves.
I've come back to this vid a few times already, every time I leave destiny for a while it's good to remind me of some things! I hope you did some more vids like this, it's really helpful!
This is perhaps the best video I've ever seen for improving endgame play. I've been applying the techniques I saw here as I've been running GMs and it's made a huge difference in my survivability.

There was quite a bit here that I already knew, although much of it was actually stuff I kinda just did without thinking not even realizing. I do catch myself off guard when I see teleport majors or adds. Thank youu so much for taking your time editing and making this video. I appreciate it very much. Keep making videos as much as you can. You have my support.
This was actually a really good guide. Fantastically written and new player friendly but even vets can get something out of it. Keep it up bro. Subbed.
I do this stuff too. I kinda just felt it out from years of playing. You’re the only destiny 2 content creator that goes into depth or even touches on these topics. Which is amazing. I subscribed needless to say.
I always check these "guides" out to find it's usually SUPER common sense, or something so top shelf that it only applies to players who are already top 10% or so. That being said, this is absolutely great and easy to implement information that I will be sharing with my clan and discord. Great stuff, keep it coming. And subbed, for sure!
This highlights something I think is really important about weapon choice in relation to dps over the course of the mission. It's why Witherhoard and Anarchy are insanely strong because you can maintain a very consistent damage output while also easily executing on 'arc movement' as you've dubbed it.
Nice work on this, the youtube algorithm is doing it's job well! Solid content, well structured and heaps of good info. If your editing software lets you do this easily, I'd like to see other visuals even if it's only done in Paint, like a top down view of an area showing enemy placements and how you might go about moving through it, hell even if it's a screenshot of an area that lets you illustrate how you'd view high threat areas vs low threat areas in terms of topography/cover/flank potential etc. Easy sub for me, hope to see more from you!
Damn dude. I’ve been mostly intuitive when it comes to movement/evasion but this completely clears up a lot of my personal questions and concerns. Such a great vid man keep it up
Before watching, i'm gonna say... dodge those bullets. Take those angles. High mobility. Yep. When I chill playing normal strikes I sometimes don't get hit for minutes and I actually roleplay trying to not get hit and hunter dodge every time I do, although I have lower dps I just don't care since it's strikes, and I usually top frag anyway. I usually strafe in one direction longer and try to react to the shots flying at me, since rapidly zigzagging is a bit more luck based, but it seems more effective. Have a bad habit of double jumping against aoe, and remaining vulnerable while falling. This doesn't work only on destiny, it works in a lot of games with projectile weapons, depending on the game it can greatly decrease damage you take even when in cover, I do that a lot in metroid prime for example. High mobility should increase running speed (but not sprinting) so it makes it easier to dodge those bullets. Become the one, begin to believe.
Great video. Not many people talk about general movement in D2 besides eager edge spam. I main Titan & catapult lift is great for sprinting around or a quick dodge. Arc hunter with blink & amplified is great. I made a warlock, died, floofed off map, & then deleted the warlock. Still trying to master hunter outside of arc & honing in my titan skating.
Absolutely phenomenal guide, you've accurately put into words something that I (and I'm sure many others) have struggled with saying, and that's actual good gameplay techniques beyond just "don't get hit". I do this arc movement you described so frequently but never actually thought about explaining it to help other players, and it's also probably why I struggle so much on other classes; I'm not used to how their jumps work and can't reliably replicate such movement with crucial timing.
Wonderful video! I came across your channel a month or so ago when you solo’d Scarlet Keep and sent it to my clanmates. I specifically noted how amazing your movement is. As well as your understanding of enemy AI. So this video was great to teach how and why you do what you do. Extremely informative! Also, for your first edited video, you did amazing! Better than mine and I have been learning for over a year haha. Keep up the great content! I’m sure you will grow massively!
You gave me some pride, i already do a lot of this, though I never really thought about why the movement worked, really great video, put all the information in an easy well gathered set..
Finally someone talks about movement and positioning. Most powerful skill in any fps along with aim. Just wish more things in the game actually tested this skill and was hard because it requires you to do so instead of just: tank health, cc, architects, frame rules and 1 shot gimics.
Phenomenal guide, wow. You just took my game to another level. Keep this shit up man, this is type of pro-skill knowledge that turns a good player into a great one. Subbed and gonna share with everyone. Thanks my dude.
As someone who has around 8 to 10k hours in d1/d2 combined, I'm surprised at the amount of things that I didn't know about on this video. Great work man
Hey this is a good explanation of stuff that I've not really considered before. Super useful. I hope you make more content...and I'll be recommending to my fireteam friends for sure! Thanks so much.
I was spend quiet some time yesterday in solo birthplace gm trying to figure out movement patterns to fight the overloads without any cover, studying their projectiles. A couple hours later i get this video in my yt feed without ever searching for it. This helps so much. Keep it going with this great content. I wouldnt mind it if it would go even more in detail.
amazing video man, I like soloing things (mainly dungeons) and this made me realize some pros and cons of my playstyle and learn how to improve it. Great job dude, keep it up
Before this video I constantly found myself straight-lining Dregs in the EDZ Patrol, but now I feel confident enough to single-handedly nail a Legend Lost Sector with ease. /s Great vid dude.
Yup. This is why I always preach that mobility is a super useful stat in PVE as well. It literally enables better run and gun tactics like this. Not to mention strafe speed, slide distance, jump height etc. Helps you avoid damage. On Titan and Warlock you want tier 7 mob, Hunter always 100.
when people talk about mastery of a game, these are the aspects we should be looking at. really looking forward to more
Facts
Completely agree more.
shut up bro
I have been playing since D1 Beta. I have never seen a guide like this about movement, enemy projectile tracking, etc. I like this guide and I believe it will help me survive more encounters. I look forward to more videos like this.
Dude, if this is your first time making a guide and editing, well fucking done. It's not easy.

Well… this happens to be exactly what I’ve been looking for. So thank you
Phenomenal guide, wow.
Great work man
There should be more guides like this. Thank you!!!
Hey this is a good explanation of stuff that I've not really considered before. Super useful. I hope you make more content...and I'll be recommending to my fireteam friends for sure! Thanks so much.
Finally I can share a video to help my friends
Ha, thanks!
Great video. Really solid stuff regarding the defensive movement. Thank you.
Never seen a video like this before, amazing content.
Tysm I’ve been looking for a good PvE guide for a while as a new player
That's some pretty good stuff. You definitely have the makings of a series on your hands, and I would totally watch it.
amazing video man, I like soloing things (mainly dungeons) and this made me realize some pros and cons of my playstyle and learn how to improve it. Great job dude, keep it up
Before this video I constantly found myself straight-lining Dregs in the EDZ Patrol, but now I feel confident enough to single-handedly nail a Legend Lost Sector with ease. /s
Great vid dude.
Through patience and time, one can even solo a shank on heroic patrol as well
Nice editing style. I like the blurring of the background when an important part comes up.
Yup. This is why I always preach that mobility is a super useful stat in PVE as well. It literally enables better run and gun tactics like this. Not to mention strafe speed, slide distance, jump height etc. Helps you avoid damage. On Titan and Warlock you want tier 7 mob, Hunter always 100.
can’t wait for this to blow up
Absolutely looking forwards to more.
