The extra time and effort shows up in a big way. I like the structure, pacing, and word economy. It all helps showcase what makes your channel stand out, your understanding of the fundamentals in D2's PvP gameplay. Keep up the great work.
Shadow, I wrote a long comment below about my controller layout if you want to highlight. I think it would be super helpful for you and any player with a 4 paddle controller.
Another controller tip - don't be afraid to sacrifice some emote slots to get rid of "hold" actions. I put my warlock rift on d-pad down and switch to heavy on d-pad up, the former so I can rift faster than "holding" and never accidentally rift while sliding, the latter so I don't accidentally pull out an empty heavy in a weapon swap mistake
Just want to clarify that my remark at 3:55 wasn't intended to be insensitive toward colorblind people. I was just making a joke about the surprisingly high amount of players who choose to play with colorblind settings to make the radar yellow simply because they find it to be more noticeable than the red.
I'm colorblind and I was ready to joke along with that part, 'cause that means I'm extra cool by default in my color perception lmao. You don't sounded insensitive, at least for me. Great vid as always. Ps. My english might suck, it's not my mother language.
back in the day there were actually games that came inverted lol... also on N64 you would use the c buttons to look up and down in games like quake and turok ...down C was look up and up C look down ...switiching to dual sticks after endless years ..playing inverted was actually easy to do ....Also walshy played inverted ...
Yea i play inverted because N64 golden eye came that way and to my recollection you could not change it - it was my first fps i played constantly. I played other but got hooked on a game with inverted controls - now i can unlearn that muscle memory
I’m moving around a lot due to my current lifestyle so I’ve began using a controller instead since I don’t have mouse space. This vid really came at the perfect time.
The 1v1 private match demonstrations of what you're doing while showing your hands, and then showing the other players view in order to contrast two different techniques is SUPER helpful. I'm sure it's a pain to do vs just capturing actual pvp play, but I felt it was much more illustrative than the normal sort of background pvp play.
One additional console movement tip for non hunters/hunters without dodge: When you need to turn 180 to run from something you can jump backwards before turning to get backward momentum, instead of rotating in a stationary position.
i think 'inverted' is for older players like myself. I always saw the right stick as like a lever to pull or push, not even sure which game started me off doing it. It is second nature to me now and steadying recoil actually feels easier as I am "pushing". You'd be surprised how many play this way, its like being left handed. So thank god the option is still available.
Same here for me. I think it was the original default and Starfox on the SNES was inverted. I remember thinking it was so odd, but now it is second nature and going the other way is odd!
Most definitely for older players, especially any that played flight sims. Having said that, my 15 year old plays inverted. It can be more natural for some people as it mimics activating the muscles in neck to look up or down.
My Uncle who got me into destiny, he's about to hit 40. He's always played inverted and I always found it so amusing. Unfortunately he's not very good at pvp. Play against him at street fighter though and you'll get your ass whooped.
This video is incredibly useful even over a year later. I've been getting frustrated about my competitive gameplay lately and felt like it was time to relearn. I ended up getting my first freelance flawless by using the techniques in this video
That’s really good to hear! I very deliberately design my videos to still be relevant years later, so I’m glad you found it helpful! And GG on the Flawless! 🔥
Shadow I really appreciate your insight specifically for controller users. So many streamers have now moved to mnk that it's difficult to relate and replicate. You, Drewsky and True Vanguard are the only controller players I can look towards now. Thanks again.
This was great! I use MnK and still watched the whole thing! One thing I find fascinating about Destiny is that good controller players can actually be better than MnK players, even though MnK has the advantage of being able to instantly do a 180.
Have not played this game in ages. I’m a d1 player, played at launch. I recently came back this season and am loving it. I have a 1.6 kd getting better but it was a rocky start going negative for my first few days. Thanks for the tips
If I made a side by side of my gameplay before and after I started watching your videos you would think there were two separate players. Greatly appreciate the time you take to make these videos. I’m here to tell you they’re helping players get better. Keep it up man 👍🏾
I appreciate the fact that you are on console and made a video like this, i’m decent not great and always watch pc players and hope to learn strictly from them. But it never helps and this video totally did, i’m gonna join the discord and i’d love to play sometime
Playing d2 for almost 2 years on, and on controller. I was thinking about switching to m&k but after watching this video I've binded jump to R3; charged melee to R1; uncharged melee and finisher to 🅰️; and revive and aim to L2 - I am amazed at the difference especially aiming in air!
24:27 the reason why the reticle is lower dates back to halo and the vertically of maps. Placing it lower allows the player to have more of what's important on their screen (the beautiful backgrounds) instead of half of it being filled with the ground.
This is by far the best PvP tutorial I have seen in D2. Thank you for putting this out there, as a PvE main carefully threading the PvP waters, it's very much appreciated..
As a longtime controller player on both Halo and Destiny, this is still a good refresher as sometimes I even get stuck in some bad habits. Nice work my dude!
Great video. FYI for those interested. A device I have purchased called Hip Shot Dot basically puts a red suction cup mounted LED on your screen. You can position it for any game. It allows you to see the exact location of a sniper rifle sight in free hand mode. You put the dot on an enemy and when you ADS the sight is dead on. I am a poor player and cannot attest to its value when sniping. It is relatively cheap.
My advice for sensitivity is keep slowly increasing it until you reach the highest sens that still allows you to consistently hit shots. You might be great on 3 or 4 sens but what you might not realize is that you can be just as accurate if not incredibly close on a sens like 7 or 8 where you then get the best of both worlds
little tip for us controller people if claw is uncomfortable and u don’t want to buy backpedals i map my buttons so my jump is l1 and my crouch is r3 so i can keep my thumbs on the sticks a lot more has helped me a lot!
Tip: For Snipers on controller, ADS and put a small piece of clear tape over your reticle on your PC/TV screen and trace it with a Sharpie (I'd recommend red or black) Helps immensely with quick scopes
I recently picked up an xbox elite controller and having jump, crouch, reload and weapon swap mapped to the rear has been a game changer for me. Allowed me to maintain better movement and weapon swap way quicker. Cost a fair bit but been so useful.
Hey man. Just found your channel and have already plowed through several of your videos. Just wanted to say thank you! I’ve always been a rather casual player with decent skill with just basic settings and know-how. The 40/60 rule might be the most interesting thing to me so far! It’s something I think I’ve pretty much learned to do but not entirely consciously. So watching your video is really going to help me be more aware! Now onto improving K/D! I know these videos must take a whole ton of time and effort, not to mention practice in the game. So thank you again! 🙏🏻
Unbelievable video, no matter how experienced I feel I am or how good I am or think i am I ALWAYS take something out of your vids that I learned. Big or small. Very well made
i came to destiny the first time in season 8 and quit in the begining of season 9. I only played pvp cuz thats the only thing i knew how to play. The game was so overwhelming i didnt even put mods on my armor cuz i didnt know. I usually play fps games like overwatch and cod and i came back to destiny in season 10 and i have been playing since. I played on console until splicer i switched to pc but now i have ssitch back cuz i bugged my crossplay and i have to wait 90 days. Originally i played on max sens and it still felt slow compared to cod but after switch to pc and coming back 10 feels way too and i am overshooting my opponents. This video helped become a better player a lot. You definitely deserve my sub!!
Great video, thank you. I’m an Xbox and PC player and I use the Xbox elite controller because of the four paddles. Just to answer your question of why, I play inverted, always have, because of flight simulator type games where you pull back on the stick to go up, (e.g. X-Wing and Tie Fighter and a very old PC game called Blue Max), so it is more intuitive to me.
This video has given me a nice slice of humble pie. I watch your snipes and say to myself (a console player) that no controller player would be able to peice together these utterly insane clips that you manage to get. But after watching this I’m def gonna make some adjustments and pray to reap the benefits. Thanks man
Thank you!! I’ve honestly been waiting for someone to show the controller side of destiny some love because most content creators are on PC. For people who want a “pro” controller. The best one I’ve found so far is the razor wolverine tournament edition. It’s the best feeling one and most reliable. The only downside is kontrol freeks don’t fit well but I used ps4 ones and crammed them on there to where it’s comfortable. Also, the controller is lower priced than most and is usually on sale for $80-$100. Best price I’ve found is on Xbox store with a good account which is $79.99.
I have this controller and it’s incredible. Not only does it have the two bumpers on the back that lets you crouch or pop super, you also have two extra ones up top, right next to the triggers, for switching weapons and reloading seamlessly, which effectively eliminates any need for removing your thumbs from the sticks for anything at all. I love it so far
I have to give props to the Xbox elite controller here. If your on Xbox and can afford to shell out the huge price tag its very worth it IMO. Super customizable and 4 paddles which can take a long time to get used to but are amazing. What I do is buy the elite from best buy and pay the extra $$ for the geek squad warranty. If you ever have anything and I mean anything go wrong with your controller you take it back and get a new one. Then just purchase the plan over again. The price is steep to begin with but you can essentially get a brand new elite controller anytime within a 2 year window for $60.
Shadow, this was the most informative video I've ever seen about controller play. I've been playing for 7 years in Destiny and I learned alot. So thank you! Best of luck to you 👍 ❤
So… a few questions. Do you only play on a hunter? Is there a different way to move around the map if you are playing another character class? In your opinion, what’s the best sniping load out for warlocks and titans? These might be obvious questions to some, but I wanted to get your take on them.
Hahaha I play inverted vertical axis due to playing goldeneye on Nintendo 64 as a kid. It just makes more sense to my brain now. Like the thumb stick is my characters head. Pull back on it to look up push forward to look down. Haha. It’s stupid but it’s how I’m used to playing. I have tried switching to normal a few times because sometimes a diagonal move from day top left to bottom right is weird. (Stick goes to top right).
Played inverted my whole life. Never thought about it being because of Goldeneye, but maybe. Always felt natural. Like flying a plane. Pull back to look up.
Ive explained that same ‘I imagine my characters head’ reasoning to people my whole gaming life! I literally cannot play any fps non inverted. Tried it for a laugh… absolute *nightmare!* I dont know how ya’ll do it. The brain really is amazing i swear
The detail in this is insane! I fully expected another generic “Git gud” or “Do so and so which every guide you’ve watched before has said the same thing regardless of the game” but you surprised me with an in depth guide that my smooth brain previously couldn’t comprehend. Sadly, all I can do is thank you and sub.
For keeping Targest In Front of You I Highly Recomend High Mobility. For Aiming Acuratly I Recomend Moving Left And Right To Aim Horizontaly And Using Low Sensibility On Controler To Curve A Bit And Focus More Horizontally, This Way You Can Smooth Aim Horizontaly When You oponent is In The Air You Can Aim Also Verticaly By Moving If you Get Close or You Get Far. Esencially Your Using Your Movment To Both Aim And Evade, Its Quite Effective When Done Properly. Jumping To Evade Is QUite Esencial, The Way I Do In My Best plays is Use Jumping To Both Evade And Position Myself And Reticle To Aim Smothly And Rapidly At My Oponent Head, The Most Efective Methods Is Controling The Speed With The Normal Jump And The The High Speed Jump Like Strafe In Hunter Or titan Or Burst Glide In Warlock. You can Also Evade By taking Advantage of The Debuff Of Glide Thou This Is Specificly For Warlock, See When You Aim You Plumit A Lot Fast To The Ground In Air With Warlock Then Hunter or Titan, That Becuse Glide Does Not generate And vertical Momentum Unless use Rapidly After You Jump. Meaning if You Aim Youll Also Fall At Higher Speed. The Trick of Using Warlock Glide Is To Exact The Hight You Whant And With Thing Like Diretional Control You Can Acelerate Your Jump By Landing On Thing Like Boxes Ec Thing Higher Then The Ground. This Way When Evading Youll Alway be Able To Acelerate Your Jump In The Time, However Most of Control Movment Relies On Understanding The Map, When Your Being Persued, Etc, The Least Thing You HSouldDo Is Turn Around Becuse of The Low Sensibility, Youll Always Whant Your Oponent In Your Face, To Do That Instead Of Compleatly Disengaging The Encounter, With High Mobility You can Move As Fast As Sprint By Jumping And Moving With Lightframes Withount Removing Your Eyes From the Target. Its Probably More Of Situational Thing But With Controler Becuse Of The Limited Thing You Always Whant To Keep Even Minimilistic Full Control Of Evrything. When Using High Sensibility On A Controler Its best To Use A Close But Not To precise Weapon, The Contrary Aplies To Long range Were You Must Use A Low Sensibility To Aim properly, Base Becuse We 1 Do Not have Ads Modifier And 2 Do Not Have The Precision to Manage Its Better Using A Hybrid If You have Both A Long Range And Short Range, A Low Sensibility At Long Range And High Sensibility In Close Range. Now This Will Limit You To A Specific Way of Playing, But Their Also Somthing You can Use T Your Advantage Call Hipfire, And Thank God For It. if You have Low Sensibility As In Your Majorly Long Range Youll Most Likly Benefit To have A Short range Heapon And Hipfire, Or Use Long Range Weapons To Hipfire. Especially With Weapon With High Zoom Youll Never Whant To Aim At Close Range If Your Using Low Sensibility Since Ads Will Reduce That Aim Speed Even More. The Trick In Thsi is That By Hipfire You Get More Chances To Hit With Slow Sensibility, And you Do Not Limit Your Movment Speed Like Ads Does, Atlest To me it proved Alot of Advantage When Having Low Sensibility At Close Range, I Would Recomend A Hipfire Mod On Lot of Thing, This With High Movment Are Able To Evade Shots WHile Not Leving You At The Mercy of Your; You sacrifice precision But Your More Likely To be Hit faster And Evade Your Enemy Better Then What They Evade You When They Ads. Weapons With Higher Zoom And hIgh sensitivity Is A Go, You Shouldnt Try Any Other Combination This Is Becuse The Zoom Is Able To tecnically Extend The Head Box of Your Oponent And Your Aim, By This I Mean There Body or Head Will Get Bigger basical Concept Of Zoom Becuse Of This With High Sensibility Your Not Suffuring Much From Slow Aiming or A Chance To Mis The Shot Compared To Other Weapons. In Controler Positioning Is Evrything, Its Literly All Destiny For Controler Not So Much For Pc, Even More For Warlock Then Hunter Or Titan. This Is Becuse You Have very Little Speed To Corect Your Direction, or Aim, And To SOme Point Even Less Acuratly. Menaing That The Corect Positioning Would Be The Best Tool And yet The Hardet Tool o Use On Controler. let me Explain Positioning Is A HIgh Skill Gap You Need To know What Your Doing, And You Must Be Aware of Absolutly Evrything In The Game. To Give Some Example, You Need To Know A Lo of The Map, The Speed You can Cross It, Your Enemy Position Your Oponent Position, the Position of Cover, The Aoe Radious of Super, The Speed Of Them, The Aoe Of Weapons, Abilities, Etc Etc Etc, Positioning Is The Most Complex Of All Tolls And The Most Rewarding, You Gonna Have To Burn To A Lot of Brain Cells For It To Work Good. Why is More Important For Controler Becuse of Slow Aiming, Technically You can Reposition Your Reticle Withount Actually Aming With The Right Joystic, As i Explain By Jump Movemnt Etc. Menaing That Yoru Able To Aim At Speed of M And K And Acurate f You Fully Master The Positioning However Its No Easy Task, Becuse You Also Have To Evaluate How Your Oponent Plays And Fast. Since In Cntroler You Use Movment To Both Evade Aim And Get To Cover While Also Evading Having To Deal WIth More Then 1 Oponent, Your Gonna Have To Flqlessly Think The Corect Placemnt And The Corect Speed It Witch To Place Yourself And That Is Highly Reliable On The Way Your Oponent Plays Becuse Depending How They Play Depend On The Ideal Spot That Is The Most Effective To Achive All I mention. In Short You Can Say Its A Insane brain Cell Burner Tactic That Will Have To Costantly keep A Lot of Brian Power Constanly Active In Your Brain. Also A Good Thing To Know As ANy Player Is To Identify Each Weapon And To Know Each Weapon, With This Your Able To Predict How Your Opoent While Play And Predict Their Movment Before They Even Execute It, This Is Absolute Fllow of PvP Knoledge predict, Use The Tools In Your Hands. In Controler You can Be In The Corect Situation You Must Create It, or Put Your Oponent In A Bad Situation, This Involve In A Lot Of Control Of What Your Doing And As Fas As To Say Milisecond Of Thinking To Create Whole Entire Plance And Moves. Esencially T he Bets Thing You Can Do In Controler For Spead is Moving Your Oponent To The Ritcle Instead of Moving The Reticle To Your Opoenent, or A Hybrid of The Two.
If you don’t invert your look settings, it means you didn’t start playing FPS games until after 2000. Back in the day, games like quake and such, were inverted by default. That’s why we play that way 😁
I got it from my dad, who played every game console since pong. Played inverted for 17 years then suddenly last year i found myself more accurate on standard.
Hmmm i do fall into that category but i always thought it made more sense because its like piloting the body in 3D instead of playing it like its 2D. Inverted drives the head where standard drives the eyes i guess.
This video helped out alot! Thank you. Just need some advice - I’ve been playing destiny since release and have forever struggled with picking a sens good for me. I like being able to move quick but I cannot stay consistent whilst being aggressive and i feel if my settings are too low then i feel like my reaction time feels slower. Any recommendations for a starting sens i can use to stay consistent and be aggressive Thanks!
I've never actually been convinced about control freeks, until you talked about it from a physics perspective. Now it's like oh that makes perfect sense, time to buy.
I’m coming back to this video after some time. I’m strongly considering the dual sense edge controller for the convex thumbsticks you can swap on. They stand just a little taller than the originals by default and I had gotten super used to them from the PS3 days. The new controllers just haven’t felt the same and I think this is a good answer.
I recently bought a controller w/ paddles to re map my crouch + melee. My controller layout (Bumper Jumper) has B for crouch & right stick click for melee. This change has helped me tremendously
I'm glad you found that helpful! I'm still using it to this day, it's super helpful :) Also just a tip, might recommend that you rebind your sparrow so that it doesn't break its functionality haha
Also, I use a Thrustmaster controller. Can't recommend them enough. It has 4 buttons on the back. I wish they were paddles but that's a small price to pay for having the ability to swap out sticks when they go bad. I unbind auto melee. I bind charged melee to "A" in game and top left back button on the controller. I bind uncharged to up on "d-pad" in game and top back button on the controller. I use the bottom back buttons for crouch and jump of course. It's the best setup I've used in Destiny by far. Love your videos and appreciate your work. They've been a great help.👍👍
Finally! Someone who doesn't confuse personal preference with fact. Most D2 content creators, when it comes to stats or perks or whatever, like to say "this is garbage" or "this is the only best way." I appreciate that you can tell us that 'personal preference is important, but here's another option that might be better' You have some of the most informative and useful D2 videos of this type that I've seen. Keep up the good work. definitely subbing to this channel.
3:36 that made me laugh so hard for some reason. It just seems so random. Everyone's shooting and in between there's suddenly that Hunter seemingly shooting whilst vibing with a good song.
This guy has a point about the movement. the amount of times I slid to JUST avoid sniper shots not only saves your life, but also make you feel like an absolute badass
U have such an relaxing voice it's pure joy just listening to you xD And thank you soooo much for making this video, it was very informative, explained in a simple way so that even a non destiny player could understand it. Pls keep going and I hope you reach 100k very soon
It’d be pretty cool to see what you’re doing on your controller while playing. Eg how your fingers move on the controller for strafing, sniping and using abilities
I think this is a great controller guide, even if it doesnt help me that much, newer players could definitely learn a lot from it However i do think its important to note that no matter how good you are with a controller, you will always eventually reach a level where you're being held back by aim assist and the slow controller sensitivity. Ive been stuck at that level for a long time, and it keeps me from being able to play destiny as seriously as i want to. You notice it especially as a sniper player, when you watch a lane and then someone falling from the heavens forces your aim into the dirt, or someone running across your lane pulls your aim with him, and fucks up your shot on the next guy that seemingly always peeks after your aim has moved to europe. I think its important to let newer controller players know the drawbacks of using a controller so they're ready for them, and can someone effecitvely work around them, especially in a guide about improving your controller gameplay. Overall though, this is a great guide, and i was surprised to see things i already do in it
I do occasionally hear how aim assist can be a drawback. However I feel that aim assist never “holds me back” and only helps me. Sure, like once a year someone walks in front of my target and moves my aim away, but I think that’s an extremely rare case. The majority of the time, all it does is help.
thank you for this, ive played destiny on controller for years and after getting a pc, i adapted to keyboard and mouse for every other game but destiny just feels right on controller for me
bro ive watched so many videos and this is the best one!!! you go over everything and simple it down so its easy to understand you helped me out so much!!! i had to subscribe!!!
I play inverted, and it feels much better to me than non-inverted. It’s like the thumbstick is glued on the back of the chars head, so when you pull it down, you turn his head upwards. Feels natural. 🤷♂️ Good video btw. Now things will get extra spicy with the ads sensitivity setting and increased general sensitivity. 👍
Ok so after taking these tips in as much as I could and I changed some settings Interact -LT Slide-left stick click(right stick doesn't register mines broken so I can't actually crouch) Jump- LB Grenade-A The slightly swinging ur camera around to see where the radar ping moves is surprisingly more helpful than I expected Also having slide on the sprint button is imo very very strong on controller I've noticed that as soon as u start sprinting u can instantly do a full distance slide AND if u aim while u slide the camera stays at normal head height instead of going lower like it normally would when u slide and don't aim, this makes keeping the aim headlevel incredibly easy and console players aren't expecting someone to slide round the corner and hit their head straight away My kd from today before changing settings was like 1.0-1.8 very good games being at most 2.5 Since changing the settings I'm averaging 3.0-5.5s pretty easily Also health doesn't instantly start regeming I had an issue with peaking too quickly n shooting too fast with hand cannons , u can peak rather slowly and it's very rewarding slow down peak shots with HC incredibly helpful , definitely the best advice vid + watchin Ifrostbolt or whatever the name is helped me big time
Top tip: I map my left back paddle to jump, and my right back paddle to swap weapon. Then my crouch is R3. That way I can jump, Icarus dash and swap to a shotgun all whilst aiming. I change Icarus Dash to one button press of R3 and Dodge to double press of R3. Works great.
I started playing games that were flight sims when I first started playing games. The controls were always inverted, so I just got used to the look and move. It was so weird when I started playing FPSs that I just stuck with inverted. Ghost Recon Breakpoint did not have inverted drone controls, so when I would switch from drone to aim it had me all kinds of efed up. I spent weeks re-learning how to use regular non-inverted look before I even became semi-decent with it. COD was a harsh teacher in those days.
Great video, on the topic of controllers, I use the Xbox Elite Controller and I can never go back, it has 4 paddle buttons on the back and I have them mapped to A, B, X and Y and it is so convenient for pretty much every game, not just Destiny.
Love the astro c40 after astro sent me a new one I never had another problem with mine and the thumb sticks causing a weird run stop run stop movement. For my bottom buttons I have L3 R3 out of fear of messing up the sticks for run.
Two things i'd like to see on nextgen consoles that are available on PC. 1. Crosshair placement. On PC you can place it in the middle of the screen. You can choose between console and PC default. 2. Steam let's you adjust the deadzones of your controller. Which leads to a more direct input. What i would like to know is why did you choose to use a controller on PC even though mk has more advantages?
#1 is in the video. #2 doesn't work in D2. Steam doesn't actually let you mess with the deadzones for Destiny. Those settings only apply to the steam controller, and nobody uses that thing lol. As for your final question, I just chose to stick with controller because that's what I was comfortable with when I switched over from console.
@@ShadowDestiny Thank you for responding. I always thought the settings would apply to all controllers. Anyway. Would be great to be able to adjust deadzones. I feel like this is standard in so many games and i am unsure why it is not in Destiny. At least i would like to have different presets for it like in cod.

Shadow, I wrote a long comment below about my controller layout if you want to highlight. I think it would be super helpful for you and any player with a 4 paddle controller.
Great content. Thank you.
New to trials. This sounds really helpful
Didn’t even think about my emotes lol. Thx dawg
You can also map emotes to the same d pad button by setting one to a long press.
Fantastic note, definitely a slept on tip
Good idea!!
Just want to clarify that my remark at 3:55 wasn't intended to be insensitive toward colorblind people. I was just making a joke about the surprisingly high amount of players who choose to play with colorblind settings to make the radar yellow simply because they find it to be more noticeable than the red.
I use the so called color blind setting. I feel as though the yellow color stands out better than the red.
I'm colorblind and I was ready to joke along with that part, 'cause that means I'm extra cool by default in my color perception lmao. You don't sounded insensitive, at least for me.

When you need to turn 180 to run from something you can jump backwards before turning to get backward momentum, instead of rotating in a stationary position.

@@isaacmorris5954 I love Jake, but he doesn't exactly make a lot of YT content about controller tips

I think robochibi might still be on controller.
I preordered the game played it for a week didn’t feel like d1. Got back on last week and I’m hooked again already
If I made a side by side of my gameplay before and after I started watching your videos you would think there were two separate players. Greatly appreciate the time you take to make these videos. I’m here to tell you they’re helping players get better. Keep it up man 👍🏾
Glad I could help!
I appreciate the fact that you are on console and made a video like this, i’m decent not great and always watch pc players and hope to learn strictly from them. But it never helps and this video totally did, i’m gonna join the discord and i’d love to play sometime
Love to hear it
Playing d2 for almost 2 years on, and on controller.
I’m not a controller player, but the small movement tips in this video still help :)
As a longtime controller player on both Halo and Destiny, this is still a good refresher as sometimes I even get stuck in some bad habits. Nice work my dude!
Bruh I’m on pc on mnk. I still watched this whole video. Your content slaps like that.
insane
Same but the 180 hunter dodge trick actually just seems helpful in general.
I’ll try it
That's what I did a while ago and over time jumped to 10, then 11 once that update came out. I've improved my gameplay incredibly since then.
It’s working
@@evandelck8541 Haha nice man 😁 glad it was useful

Mapping your action button with ads is pure genius. This is where i start. Thanks 👍
I really like to see the perspective of high tier gameplay from a fellow controller player. And keep getting more great sniper clips
Tip: For Snipers on controller, ADS and put a small piece of clear tape over your reticle on your PC/TV screen and trace it with a Sharpie (I'd recommend red or black) Helps immensely with quick scopes
I hugely want higher sensitivity with ads modifiers.

Thanks so much for watching multiple videos and I’m glad you’re finding them helpful! ❤️❤️
Unbelievable video, no matter how experienced I feel I am or how good I am or think i am I ALWAYS take something out of your vids that I learned. Big or small. Very well made
Thank you ❤️
Oh wow, I didn’t know I needed this. Thank you for caring about fellow console players!
i came to destiny the first time in season 8 and quit in the begining of season 9.
Thank you!
My mate has played inverted ever since Golden Eye on Nintendo 64.
@@spanos1011 Lol, inverted is just the way to go for some of us.
Best price I’ve found is on Xbox store with a good account which is $79.99.
hmm interesting I haven't spoken to many people who have tried that one. Glad you like it!
I use Razer Wolverine Ultimate and had no issues for 3 years. Razer make quality controllers and the paddles are sturdy.
That first clip made me subscribe, holy moly
thank you very much :) I hope you enjoy the videos!
Shadow, this was the most informative video I've ever seen about controller play. I've been playing for 7 years in Destiny and I learned alot. So thank you! Best of luck to you 👍 ❤
Wow thanks so much!
(Stick goes to top right).
haha thanks for sharing! I understand why inverted exists now
My brother has played inverted for over 20 years I still don’t understand how but it works for him
Played inverted my whole life. Never thought about it being because of Goldeneye, but maybe. Always felt natural. Like flying a plane. Pull back to look up.
Same i learned aiming in ocarina of time on N64 and there was no options lol
Ive explained that same ‘I imagine my characters head’ reasoning to people my whole gaming life! I literally cannot play any fps non inverted. Tried it for a laugh… absolute *nightmare!*
I dont know how ya’ll do it. The brain really is amazing i swear
This helped me immensely. I am in your debt. I'm linking your guide to all my Xbox pals.
Thanks for watching and sharing!
The Xbox one pro controller has been a tremendous help with the extra paddles.
except the bumpers going out every 8 months on them, I love them
The detail in this is insane! I fully expected another generic “Git gud” or “Do so and so which every guide you’ve watched before has said the same thing regardless of the game” but you surprised me with an in depth guide that my smooth brain previously couldn’t comprehend. Sadly, all I can do is thank you and sub.
Thanks! I put a lot of effort into this one, glad it was helpful

As someone who’s been playing console most of his destiny life and this video is what I needed
If you don’t invert your look settings, it means you didn’t start playing FPS games until after 2000. Back in the day, games like quake and such, were inverted by default. That’s why we play that way 😁
Ah thanks for informing me! I was born in 2000, so that makes sense LOL
I wondered about that too.
I got it from my dad, who played every game console since pong.
Played inverted for 17 years then suddenly last year i found myself more accurate on standard.
Yeah that explains a lot. I've been gaming since mid 90s and I always play inverted
Hmmm i do fall into that category but i always thought it made more sense because its like piloting the body in 3D instead of playing it like its 2D. Inverted drives the head where standard drives the eyes i guess.
I've really been working hard on uping my sniping game and ur video really helped thank you
This video helped out alot! Thank you.
Just need some advice - I’ve been playing destiny since release and have forever struggled with picking a sens good for me. I like being able to move quick but I cannot stay consistent whilst being aggressive and i feel if my settings are too low then i feel like my reaction time feels slower. Any recommendations for a starting sens i can use to stay consistent and be aggressive
Thanks!
Sounds like you'd benefit from something middle of the pack. Try 5-6 to start
I got mines and let me told you it change the way I play for ever you’ll be way better in pvp
Just hopped into D2 last month with my brother and I play on Ps5. This video is really helpful! thank you :)
I would recomend putting a small dot of tape on the tv where the reticle is to help with sniper centering

Also just a tip, might recommend that you rebind your sparrow so that it doesn't break its functionality haha
@@ShadowDestinyI'm thinking RT since who uses brake on a sparrow? Am a I right?
🤣. Thanks for the tip btw
Most D2 content creators, when it comes to stats or perks or whatever, like to say "this is garbage" or "this is the only best way."
I appreciate that you can tell us that 'personal preference is important, but here's another option that might be better'

And thank you soooo much for making this video, it was very informative, explained in a simple way so that even a non destiny player could understand it. Pls keep going and I hope you reach 100k very soon
Thank you, much love
This is mad helpful. I feel like I’ve put a lot of time into PvP and haven’t gotten better and it’s because I wasn’t practicing the right things
It’d be pretty cool to see what you’re doing on your controller while playing. Eg how your fingers move on the controller for strafing, sniping and using abilities
I think this is a great controller guide, even if it doesnt help me that much, newer players could definitely learn a lot from it
However i do think its important to note that no matter how good you are with a controller, you will always eventually reach a level where you're being held back by aim assist and the slow controller sensitivity.
Looking forward to an up-to-date vid on the new controller settings this season.
coming soon!

Respect for the time taken to make this
I play inverted, and it feels much better to me than non-inverted.
It’s like the thumbstick is glued on the back of the chars head, so when you pull it down, you turn his head upwards. Feels natural. 🤷♂️
Good video btw. Now things will get extra spicy with the ads sensitivity setting and increased general sensitivity. 👍
Ok so after taking these tips in as much as I could and I changed some settings
Interact -LT
Slide-left stick click(right stick doesn't register mines broken so I can't actually crouch)
Jump- LB
Grenade-A
The slightly swinging ur camera around to see where the radar ping moves is surprisingly more helpful than I expected
Also having slide on the sprint button is imo very very strong on controller I've noticed that as soon as u start sprinting u can instantly do a full distance slide AND if u aim while u slide the camera stays at normal head height instead of going lower like it normally would when u slide and don't aim, this makes keeping the aim headlevel incredibly easy and console players aren't expecting someone to slide round the corner and hit their head straight away
My kd from today before changing settings was like 1.0-1.8 very good games being at most 2.5
Since changing the settings I'm averaging 3.0-5.5s pretty easily
Also health doesn't instantly start regeming I had an issue with peaking too quickly n shooting too fast with hand cannons , u can peak rather slowly and it's very rewarding slow down peak shots with HC incredibly helpful , definitely the best advice vid + watchin Ifrostbolt or whatever the name is helped me big time
"Quite expertly jumpshot me with his jotun" really got me lmao
😂
Your game clips are so good, i just got into destiny 2
I like a modified "puppeteer" & compressed my emotes to just 2 positions of my "+" pad freeing "up" and "left" for my powered melee and super
Changing to the jumper button load out helps too
Great video, on the topic of controllers, I use the Xbox Elite Controller and I can never go back, it has 4 paddle buttons on the back and I have them mapped to A, B, X and Y and it is so convenient for pretty much every game, not just Destiny.

So hype for a new Astro controller that works on ps5 games lol.
Great vid!
