Dear me,you’re rehashing a quote from the JFK movie…
Oh Captain, my Captain?
You asked for me?
"Shane, come to the bridge," is what I heard, Captain.
I loved this movie!
May I know the movie name please? Thx in advance ❤
Captain Philips?!
They should have been packing serious firepower!

I understand there are maritime laws that forbid cargo ships crews from toting weapons, but at what point do they weigh the risks of getting penalized with the risks of getting slaughtered by third world pirates ?
I guess it's just chaper
Get your fire hoses ready 😂
a few bazookas and this would be a 15 min video lol
No
Everytime I watch this scene I somehow hope they make it out and the rest of the movie doesn't happen
He was told to avoid the area but didn't listen and then praised as a hero.😂😂😂
that is a myth. Phillips was totally in the main sea lane there. Same as 1,000 ships a year
@@teo2975 It's not much, but it might be his fault too, avoiding the area would've cost more money, that's why they didn't, but the real question is, was that his call or the company hiring him? If it's the former, then yes, I'd say he's partially to blame.
Nope. His crew were all crying out that this movie made him look like a saint when he wasn't.@@teo2975
If the ship had been 'armed to defend itself' Tom Hanks wouldn't have known about it!
2:36 Did Phillips do a attempt slightly at a british accent when talking to the UK Maritime thing? Listen closely to his pronunciations.
His portrayal as Capt was spot on.
You know the pirates are out there. Arm your crew!
They always have security armed personnels in the ship. But director forgot to keep them in this ship😂😂

@@kamran3402 Um this is based on a true story. The ship owner actually is the one who declined to put armed security or arm the crew.

Very nice presentation and how much effort must have gone into making this film.

This whole film is pretty much American propaganda, with lots of gun/military porn thrown in for good measure. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great movie, but no surprise they depict the UK authorities like this. Yeah Murica!!😂😂

@@jakefromstatefarm6969 why would you say yikes? care to elaborate?
The real life captain Phillips definitely wanted Tom Hanks to portray him in a movie and deliberately sailed into an area of pirate activity hoping for the exact situation that occurred. That’s why he got into the lifeboat with the pirates.
