Thank you everyone for the continued support!
Good on you for cleaning up that trash and making a nicer place for the next people! Looking forward to seeing the next mods on the truck. Cheers!
Thanks for watching!
Spray paint a large white cross on your red med kit. That way if a stranger is looking for your med kit, they will find it easier if you ever get in trouble.
Just something I do with all my med kits.
Oh brilliant. Thanks for sharing that, I'll make sure to do that. Thanks for watching !
@@JoelTremblayCA you're welcome!
The trash is always so frustrating to me too. Especially beer cans!! Love the truck man. Are there any warranty issues with the Tune upgrade?
Yeah it's super frustrating, I'll bring back a truck load of trash every time I go out.
What they don't know doesn't hurt 🤷 it can always be reverted to stock if required.
Thanks for watching!
Dude, you have a 6speed transmission, not 5.
Yeah you're right, thought I said 6 but my mistake. I've come over from an older ranger and also own a 4runner, both with a 5 speed. Got mixed up!
First mod should be to remove dem nerf bars and get some actual rock sliders 😂
Yeah I've got another video going live this weekend. I'm surprised I haven't ripped those steps off yet!! It's in the works. Thanks for watching!
I also went with a topper and tune as my first two mods on my 3rd gen taco and dont regret the order of operations one bit.
Best path forward in my books!
The tune makes a huge difference. Although my Taco was regeared before the tune, it definitely woke it up. Now I’m getting 11L/100km from 14L in the same driving.
That's awesome!
Just got manual trd pro and going to get a tune. Hope it is worthed
How does the tune affect the warranty and the gas mileage? Did you notice much difference?
As mentioned in the video, the tune is undetectable as long as it's not disclosed... Mileage is about the same. Thanks for watching!
Looking good buddy, great colour, looking forward to the build, take care with the smoke from the fires, rubbish is a big problem in the bush here in Australia also, lazy bloody grubs 🤬🤬🤬🤬
That's so unfortunate to hear that it happens elsewhere too. I don't get it. Thanks for watching! I'd love to get out to Australia sometime. On the bucket list!
Another good video Joel, on the truck tune did the mileage or liters per 100km. increase or decrease. On my vehicle there is econ mode, which severely hinders performance but the mileage is 9.6 liters for 100km. Turn of the eco mode and huge increase in performance but 11.5liters per 100km. My reasoning is Toyota factory tuned for maximum liters per Km.
I did not notice much of a difference in mileage, but will keep you updated. As far as I know, there is no eco mode for these. I don't know why they tuned it the way they did, I assume you are right, about getting maximum fuel economy in "x" gear. thanks for watching!
Hi Joel love your videos, was wondering if you looked at the sticker inside your door and what your payload capacity is? you do have a 5 foot bed so you may have a bit more. can you tell me what yours is. im sure that truck cap added about 200lb on your truck witch now brings down your available payload. just be careful with that number.
Max payload for this truck is rated 990lbs. Thanks for watching!
@@JoelTremblayCA I also have my new 2023 Toyota Tacoma trd sport 6ft bed and its is 940lb payload. now if I take my wife and I lets say 400lb plus my dog 80 lb then that truck bed for my truck that will only leave me with 260lb for food and gear. that sucks no?
@@bushwalker2673 it's not great, but it's a mid size truck. I've never had issues with the gear I bring. I plan on upgrading the springs / suspension in the future
@JoelTremblayCA Im just worried that even if I just get the camper top like you have and I bring 3 people with no gear im maxed out. maybe I need to just build a camper trailer like you have. and put all my gear in that. and not much at all in the bed. im moving back to orillia Ontario this fall so maybe next year I will see you at an overland event. im stuck now with my payload I just dont know what to do.
@@bushwalker2673 I wouldn't overthink it too much. Start small with what you have and see what works, what doesn't. In my personal experience, I like the trailer so that I can set up camp and go exploring without the added weight.
I'd have to agree with the addition, I have the same shell on my Tundra, and I really like the cargo doors. The only down side is trying to clean the outside of the truck back window and the shell outside front window.
Yeah I've been thinking how I might clean the window. I guess a long stick and sponge!
Joel, sometime when you have the chance could you do a video on how you have set things up with your truck and rigs for your dog? First time I saw the tent on top of the trailer I thought, well the dog isn’t going up there - or does it?
Will do! It's always a work in progress. The dog at the moment sleeps in the main space with mom and baby, she's comfortable on the floor or on the end of the bed. They make doggy ladders but that's quite high for her. Thanks for watching!
