I’m am paying less than half per year than I was paying for a quarter in Massachusetts in property taxes and my home is newer and almost twice the square footage.
I love it no desire to go back. I wish I knew about the grocery stores here the selection is not as good as in northeast Massachusetts and the prices are a lot higher. I will say though we had “Market Basket” a regional chain known for large selection quality and lower prices. I also wish I knew about the surprise $600.00 per car relocation fee. But we simply love it here, the roads are well maintained the schools are very good (St. James district) and well kept beaches with loads of FREE parking.
You're taxed on every year for everyvehicle you have licensed in s.c., and it ain't cheap. I have 3 vehicles and the newest one is a 2013 Ford, nothing expensive. It's over 800 a year for all 3. And if you buy or bring a car into the state there's a 7% sales taxe plus a 700$ " road impact " fee. Myrtle Beach taxes will cost you 10% to eat out.
If you're working don't do it! Find a larger community with more to offer. I'm warning you wage is low hours are variable. The cost of living is about the same here is anywhere else. Your low wage will not make the difference in 30 cents a gallon.
Have you ever covered homeowners insurance in any of your videos? We're interested in finding out about that. I'm sure the closer you get to the ocean the higher the cost, but how about more inland areas like Socastee or Conway?
2022 all housing has increased by 50% so can't afford a condo now, tried for two months. Forget Myrtle Beach, it's an insult to your pocket book, all greed now.
Finding a place can be tricky right now for sure, that's due the super low inventory, but that is the same everywhere in the country right now. Luckily, people are making good money when selling, but when trying to buy at this point can be frustrating for sure. Don't lose hope, it will happen!
Hi, I have a question, how much is the cost in renting an apartment in Myrtle Beach on 2 bedroom from 20 to 40 minutes to get to Myrtle beach and the cost of renting. I’ll appreciate
We've visited a lot, I still kick around moving there, it's just a little tough not for me/wife/kiddo, but my mother would need a little talking. I can't just leave her alone, but anyways. We'd be moving from PA, where you were from as well I think. I'm over NEPA winters, over them. Business Management/Sales/HR and Physical Therapy are our careers, are there opportunities for Physical Therapy since I know the first is probably there? Schools elementary through HS good?
I was just there last week and Diesel fuel was over five dollars a gallon. However it’s over six dollars a gallon at home. Thank you for the videos. My family is highly considering moving to Myrtle Beach. Last week was our first time ever visiting and we absolutely fell in love with the area.
J B good job can you tell us why some developments do not have sidewalks? I have an idea why , but if you know can you tell us. Thanks and have a Happy Father’s Day. 👨 🏡
while you are not wrong, we don't need more cars (traffic) people and new homes here, so keep this on the down low bud. Especially if they are moving down to vote for higher taxes that they just moved away from.
Your right Jeremy. I have a cute little 2 bed ,2 bath here at the Landing, Plantation Point no HOA, a mile to the ocean just over 17 bypass in Horry county. Iam a homesteader as well. My only complaint is with Waste management $169-$197 for two months of trash pickup. Have to find another way. Great video thank you. I moved 5 years ago from Fairfax county Va. Night and day🤣 God bless.
I have owned investment condos in several states. MB can be fun but take a close look at all of the taxes that you will encounter. Close to shore the HOAs are naturally high per the threat of hurricanes. You will want to stay far away during the motorcycle weeks. Keep in mind that crime is now a serious concern in MB.
Jeremy your videos are great, my family goes every summer to north myrtle beach for a week, we always love it and are in serious talks about moving to that area, keep posting these great videos gives us a lot of helpful information to help us move to our forever home
I'm trying to find a nice vacation rental in the area for labor day weekend, for my granddaughter first trip there! I need to be able to fish also! Any recommendations???
question. really considering moving there once i graduate college. is there a demand for personal trainers or gyms? i wanna start my business there in the personal training field
I am thinking of moving to the Myrtle Beach and am looking for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom home or apt or townhome and I am on 100% disability but am wondering on the insurance part is it expensive to carry hurricane insurance and or flood insurance????? Thx
It's all dependent on which part of the beach you end up. It can get very expensive, but a lot depends on location. Some Condo complexes have it included in their HOA fees.
Just found your video. I am looking to move very soon. And I am looking in horry county school district. Would love for your help. Coming from up North
Hi Jeremy, Can you please do a video about buying a condo to live there in the winter? We want to live there 4 months of the year in a Condo and then rent it out on Airbnb for the warmer months. We live in NY and it will not be our primary residence. What do we need to know about taxes? Flooding insurance if you dont live there full time. How much does a closing cost on a condo? Any other hidden fees buying there and not living there full time? Thank you for any ideas.

Unless you live in one of the designated flood zones, flood insurance is very affordable... probably 400-500/year to have for just in case. Inside designated flood zones it is more, but it is based on the zone you are in and also the size, age, price of the home, so it's a huge variable as to what that number would be and can really only be calculated on a case by case basis.
Hey there! There definitely are some places around the Conway & other parts of Horry & Georgetown county that are not going to be in high cost flood zones. Feel free to email me at info@jeremyblanton.com and I can see what I can do to help!
In my neighborhood, the HOA is $90/month. It includes access to two community pools, use of a fitness center, basketball courts. It also includes trash, basic cable & high speed internet.

This next week I might take you inside a million dollar listing here in Myrtle Beach!
You forgot to mention the pay in that area. It is terrible compared to other places.

It's ultimately going to depend on the apartment complex and what amenities/location. But I'm guessing at least 1,000+ these days.
