  • Bill shows you how to install a Roush Stainless Steel Axle-Back Exhaust on your 2015-2017 GT Mustang.
    Purchase Product Here:
    www.cjponyparts.com/roush-axl...
    Like all axle-backs for the 2015, 2016 or 2017 GT Mustang, there is some cutting required to install the new system, but once the cutting is finished, it is an easy bolt on system. Once installed we were extremely satisfied with the sound, Roush's exhaust will avoid the annoying drone or rasp that can occur with other competitive exhaust systems on the market.
    If you are looking to improve the sound of your new 2015-2017 GT to a more aggressive sound that is smooth, deep and no drone, than you need to check out the new axle-back from Roush.

    Had mine on for 3 days now, and this is what a 435 hp engine should sound like.Coasting down hills is great sound, accelerating is pure joy, and I dont know how much HP this exhaust added, but I can sure feel it. Love those pipes

    Just helped my buddy install this to his 2015 Mustang GT. Using a proper saw it was easy. We were taking our time and it probably took no more than an hour. Sounds fantastic. Make sure you tighten those clamps down real good. Wouldn't want to loose a can going down the road!

    These pipes are the best. Wonderful sound OTT, great sound coasting down hills, no drone at all. I do not suggest driving past the police station in sport mode though. Love this exhaust

    We have the roush axle back exhaust system on our 2717 GT 401a package with manual stick shift. It sounds very good. It's only loud at cold start up and when revved aggressively. We have enjoyed it for 5 years. When new we had the exhaust tips sent out to be custom powder coated gloss black. Still looks very good. Nowadays you can get the optional black painted exhaust tips from Roush. Next we will be installing the Roush resonator delete h-pipe. Then it will be very loud.

    Love all your videos, very informative. Quick question though; On your website, it's mentioned that there will in fact be a quad tipped Roush axle-back exhaust coming soon. Do you know when that might be available, and also, do you think you'd be doing a video on that system as well? I think a lot of people might be interested in an offering like that due to the unique, aggressive, personalized appearance it would bring to the car.

  • @Threefiddyz
    @Threefiddyz 9 років тому

    if you got this axle back and cut out the resonator and put an xpipe or h pipe in would it or should it drone?

    • @Prophylatix
      @Prophylatix 9 років тому

      Yes. Any time you remove a resonator from an exhaust system you will have drone. Resonators buffer the sound from your engine during your engine's "loudest" frequencies. If you remove them, you have nothing to buffer the frequencies, thus allowing these frequencies to cause what is called "drone."
      It is simply a matter of whether the drone level is acceptable or not to the driver.

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 9 років тому

      We will be installing a resonator delete with the Roush system in the next few weeks and will do sound clips on it. While in theory above post is correct about the purpose of a resonator, not all systems drone just because you remove it. Certain mufflers do an excellent job at limiting drone, Borla has worked hard on that for years. The Ford Racing/Borla systems we installed had no drone at all at highway speeds.

    • @markiemark8585
      @markiemark8585 9 років тому

      Bill Tumas much agreed installed the Ford racing x pipe with stock mufflers and zero drone. In fact I can barely hear a difference inside at idle. But outside its better, and according to people who hear it from the outside its a huge difference.

      +CJ Pony Parts I purchased these for my 15 gt and got a defective muffler the left one doesn't work it rattles due to how it was made. Anyways you guys didn't let me get the warranty on it and refuse to give me a single replacement or at least pay half price for one! I cringe at the sound of my exhaust because it rattles :/

      ‘15 V6 is 2.25” pipe. ‘15 GT is 2.50” pipe.

    The sound clip Roush showed of the axle backs was terrible.. Got me scared for a second thinking it sounded like a v6, but your clip is true v8 sound.

      If you're concerned about rust, you can always powered coat your axle-back. Eventually, you will have surface rust on anything stainless.

      I made some research on this issue and found that most mufflers including OEM are made of 409 type of steel which has less chromium. Borla has 304 steel which has high content of chromium. They last longer and cost more.
