What is the matter with you?! It seems that you are entertained by this. These are conscious creatures who are suffering. Nature is cruel and it should all end to prevent further suffering.
A lone painted wolf (another name for African wild dogs) can’t take down a buffalo by itself, and even a pack usually doesn’t target adult buffalo because a well-placed swipe from the horns of the buffalo could kill a painted wolf. And since painted wolves live in large packs, they need to hunt more often than other carnivores in Africa do.
Its probably about instinct.. their main instinct is to stay with the heard literally at all costs.. theyre dumb as hell and probably see the struggling child as dead weight
No, not pathetic just outnumbered. Imagine trying to protect your child while you and the child are being attacked simultaneously by 15 guys. Even with your intelligence, you would either die trying to protect your kid in which case you both would die or you would run. If it were one on one the Buffalo would have protected the calf. It's just an unfair advantage. Never underestimate the power of numbers and a coordinated attack. Wild dogs are successful hunters.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was an ambush specifically to hunt calves by these dogs. They coordinate really well and know exactly what they're doing.
That buffalo couldve easily killed several of those dogs with a single kick, or atleast horned the one killing her baby right in front of her. Nope she just gonna run in circles... so frustrating
I think the agility of the dogs had the buffalos baffled. You can see that the buffallos were unsure where to defend from. The dogs were quick and decisive!
The most interesting part for me is the few dogs that bait the buffalo herd by running in front of them, enticing them to charge and accidentally leave behind the slower, younger buffalo. Dogs and hyenas display intelligence levels nearing that of great apes, but the dogs seem to respect eachother more than Hyenas do.
Carnivores are smarter than herbivores. When humans consumed meat it helps the brain. Actually it’s the animals that eat a whole variety of foods that makes them more intelligent. I read this somewhere online that’s it. It’s not my idea.
@@MiniNinja258 While it is generally true that carnovires are smarter than the herbivores, that isn't always the case. Gorillas and elephants for example have strictly plant-based diets, yet they're among the smartest animals in Africa.
The mom takes off...it's interesting how smart those dogs are. One group kills the baby while the other group taunts and nips at mother so she'll be too occupied to rescue baby
They dont even kill the baby they eat it alive. Its smart though. I guess it doesnt matter if your prey can get away or not if you and 10 of your buddies are eating it alive.
Their the most loyal and work together . I use to love lions but then I fell in love with the lionesses. They nurture and protect their young, train the women and kick the useless sons out the pride at 2 yrs old maybe sooner. But that's just my way of thinking because they can be dicks to their cubs when they are cheating. Lol
0:42 this is just the perfect demonstration of the stupidity and cowardice of this herbivore. They both outnumber and out-size them and they're scampering away, literally leaving the two calves behind to be caught. Excellent work by the dogs.
It’s not stupidity it’s instinct. Sure those animals aren’t developed enough to have weapons such as humans. But you put a human and human baby in that situation and they won’t survive any better. You could call humans fighting back brave but raw instinct is to survive and the mother did escape to have more calves. Human mother would have gone down fighting and that would have been the end.

Totally agree with your thoughts - these kind of footage shd be given its respect and not made fun of! It is really very very hard to see your own flesh (baby) being torn in front of u!
Maybe it was so amateurish because it was taken by amateurs who were excited to see something like this which very rare for tourists to witness hence the talkinh. Just watch it without the criticism you moron
Rahul Singh it is not hard to see that for mother because it is animal. animals have no pity, feeling of love and other shit that you saw in this video. all animals actions are leading by instincts. if it was not so mother would defend its child until it died but it lost interest in baby very soon(may be mother have seen danger in these dogs or whatever else that make it go. that situation clearly shows stupidity of animals because it seems to be nonsense that so big beast can not to cope with dogs). so you should not associate animals with humans in your mind otherwise you are risking to have problems with reality perception
roundingcorners that’s not survival of the fittest. That’s called nature keeping a balance. Survival of the fittest implies that animals like lions would kill all other animals and be the only animal species on land. All animals are fit to their environment so get out of here with that nonsense.
@@nsr5961 you idiot, it's the survival of the fittest in the sense the lion needs to be in the best shape possible to kill its prey. if it has a broken leg, it wouldn't be able to even hunt. don't jump to conclusions junior. I never said the buffalo was weak.
roundingcorners no I know what you meant. Survival of the fittest means only the fit survive. You’re basically implying that example lions being on the top of the food chain would be the only surviving species where as everything else will go extinct. By the way that’s exactly what it means by your statement and that’s not the case because there will always be buffalo just as there will always be lions and so on weak or not.
What I find interesting is that the buffalo herd doesn't appear to be showing the supreme confidence they show when facing off against lions. Granted the wild dog pack is probably larger than a lion pride, but the buffalo seem to be thrown by the organised chaos of the wild dog hunting abilities
Or possibly the buffalo herd are frightened away by how close the humans are with their huge vehicles. The dogs, being a bit smarter, have learned not to be afraid of humans and their vehicles.
If anything, African wild dogs are shy and tend to avoid humans. This is a rare encounter on safari. It is unlikely that the jeep proximity is to blame, and more likely that the original commentator is on the right track. Lions tend toward more front-on attacks with fewer numbers, as well as being more likely in general to attack buffalo. Perhaps this is indeed to blame for the unsuccessful, unconfident defense mounted by the buffalo herd
They're not. It's just that pet dogs are so stupid in comparison as a result of being fed and living a life that millions of years of evolution did not prepare them for.

Sick bustards that film and watch this, put the animals out their misery, imagine paying to watch that, if it was one of your own or family pet it would be a different matter, get a life sickos,
"Gud job bois, we got food for 3 days." Did you know that in the pack pregnant, young and adult females eat first, then young and adult males and finally, the leader? These guys know how to respect.
I dont know for me it seems pretty fair in here.... you can only imagine how much these wild dogs have to hunt to catch prey like this....and how many of them there are , this food doesnt come easy for them
One would think that such large powerful creatures as buffalo, would adapt better defensive measures over 100s of thousands of years. Obviously, they are not particularly smart, but still, one would think that over the ages, they would understand creating some type of phalanx and not moving....instead, they panic and flee, which gives the predators the chance. When all you have is your size and some huge sharp horns, it is surprising they are not used more effectively. On occasion, you see them goring or flipping a lion etc....but it is when they flee that they become vulnerable. certainly is a very interesting study in "herd mentality"....one panics, they all panic....and there is the predators chance. If the buffalo never panicked as a group, and put the young and the weak in the center, similar to Muskoxen, they would probably lose much fewer individuals....but that's nature.
they did, but they cant keep their formation all days, they must to eat every hours our ancestors have the same issues until they learned how to save foods and building a village
Evolution is a conservative process. Like many other herbivores in other species, a portion of the population will not survive; whether this is a lack of fitness or just bad luck is up to fate to decide. The species is still successful if it has the numbers in the end.
USCFlash true the only time they ever decide to fight predators if it gets their baby’s and usually get the whole herd to come. But that’s only if they get a baby

Buffalos eyes are sideways, that makes it more difficult for them to have a sense of depth, the wild dogs moving around is a good strategy to confuse them
"Divide and Conquer" rule. They divide them, create chaos and panic amongst them, and then easily take over. That's how big empires conquered a lot of countries and still doing it... The same way these dogs work, their power is collective intelligent work...
Something really bugs me about the people who film these predation videos, they roll right into the middle of the scene in a huge 4x4 when they should stay the hell back and film from a distance. It really feels like the safari crew don't give a damn about the animals at all, they just want to get in on the action and smell the blood so they can provide people with gory, shock-value encounters. Also, how many scenes are there where one or more trucks are milling around, engines running loudly and some predators come in a wipe out an animal that would likely have heard or seen the predator approach. It would be interesting to find out the truth about how often people cause the demise of game animals or even predator-predator deaths. Its very likely that predators would quickly associate the sounds and sights of people on safari with the presence of other animals which often become easy prey. This safari on display in this video is irresponsible, they definitely get in the way of the buffalo and their young.
If they were doing it for shock value, they would've showed the entire feasting process, which disproves your hypothesis. Animals aren't that stupid that they can't tell the difference between a jeep and another animal. Also, there are many close-encounter recordings of unsuccessful hunts which also weakens your hypothesis. The simple reason the hunt was successful was because wild dogs are smarter than other predators and prey, and thus out of all the predators have the highest success rate of 85%.

Lions stand to learn a thing or two from these wild dogs. That was impressive!
You should be glad they aren't. We need population control.

African Wild Dogs put all their attribute points into agility
Buffalo are big and powerful brutes...easy prey for intelligent and organized predators.

2:06 That moment when you’ve spent thousands of dollars and travel from the other side of the world to go on a safari and record some wildlife… and you put your finger on the camera lens.
Brilliant.
Thank you, that annoyed me 😂😂
It not that expensive ..

Buffalos eyes are sideways, that makes it more difficult for them to have a sense of depth, the wild dogs moving around is a good strategy to confuse them

Exactly 😂
Mansa Warrior! Lol.

Real mansa warrior
Looks like your vehicles disrupted the buffalos , stop impeding nature.
Use zoom lens, thanks.
"Divide and Conquer" rule. They divide them, create chaos and panic amongst them, and then easily take over. That's how big empires conquered a lot of countries and still doing it... The same way these dogs work, their power is collective intelligent work...
Não acho ne nhuma graça com um vídeo mostrando sofrimentos dos animais. Isso deveria ser proibido.
This brings new meaning to the term “a pack of wild dogs”
It’s a CIIIIIRClE, the circle of liiiiiife!
Driving their truck over scares the adult buffalo from coming back, but you got your video for youtube.
I agree with you. Who wants to see this? Poor animals even though it's how it is.
And yet, here we are, watching... Just like a dream of being stuck on the railroad tracks, just can’t move away from it! Lol
Sorry I didn’t read that’s to much Lmfao when I clicked see more I stoppped
@@RottimailIf you don't like seeing 'poor' animals being eaten, you don't have to watch. Simple.
Someone said those wild dogs sound like styrofoam on glass and that really sums it up nicely.
