i am positively FUMING, how does this man do it? he skips some great challenges like clone gun and the moon challenge, but then takes a new challenge he never seen without reading what the lady says! gives me conniptions honestly
@@Bspammer His insistence to keep moving along with gameplay to keep videos interesting at the expense of reading what the game is telling him is both appreciated and frustrating to me.
I like it more that he just keeps going.

I did the same my first time to Sunken City, I didn't even read the text, just ran through and payed instantly thinking lets see what fun challenges derek has given me today.
For the record, Dan's first Sunken City experience was more or less identical
And Baer's as well
And I can't quite remember malf's but im pretty sure he also died to the sun challenge on the first Sunken City visit

Dan did the *EXACT* same thing on his first visit to The Sunken City and died basically just as fast. It's glorious to see how they both made the same mistake and spent just a few seconds in a completely new area, only to die because they didn't read :')

The fact that every person I’ve watched get to the sunken city has immediately died to the sun challenge is extremely blursed. VERY pog run tho NL, keep up the good work!
I like how by the time the backlog reaches the olmec changes, olmec has changed already again.

When NL paid for the sun challenge, I was screaming NOOO while sliding the cursor to the seek bar, and LMAO.
I always try to avoid looking at the seek bar so I'm surprised when he dies. It's just funnier that way.

I think he planned to pick up the turkey and throw it up at the bomb. Obviously that's strictly impossible given the time frame but you know.
I don't think he intended to hit the turkey with the bomb when he placed it. I think what Alexander said is pretty much correct. His plan was to throw the bomb, grab the turkey, and throw it at the bomb just as it exploded.
"I'm tired of having molten hot lava dripping down on me and having my whole run collapse" ah, I have the perfect remedy for you: bombs.
You don't need the drill to get to vlad's castle, and like 50% of runs I go to volcana I choose not to use it. It takes 6-7 bombs to get to the bottom, depending on tnt placement, and you have no worries of lava or angry shopkeepers then. The run where NL said this had 17 bombs, where it'd be a very easy cost to pay, better value than using the udjat eye anyways arguably.

NL when you resurrect with the Ankh you keep the cape on your back so you don't have to drop it on 4-3. You *do* have to drop the jetpack though since that explodes on contact with the lava.

You talked about how people enjoy your spelunky failures as much as they do your progress and this is true where as other people will mainline the game like a drug playing it’s endlessly till they 100% it and it’s not fun to watch. people would rather enjoy a slow drip of the games new parts of the game and watch your failures along the way keep being you :)

Springshoes are great, you do have to adjust your muscle memory a little bit because some areas you jump to high or far like when you jumped in the spikes 3 times
