    If you're a fan who likes the stories and art but just enjoy comics without an eye to collecting, do whatever you want because it doesn't matter. Unfortunately, these days many "collectors" are looking for a fast flip and buy on spec to make money. So ultimately, do what YOU want.

    • @TheNERDWay1

      I do not want to flip my comics, I do spend quite a bit for back issues. If you’re the same do you want to protect what you spent your hard earned money on or throw it in a drawer and let it get ruined. Yes, do what you want.

      Yes, comics should be enjoyed. All my comics are alphabetized in short boxes. None of them in bags or boards. They are ready to READ whenever I want to. They are for me. The artwork and story do not evaporate or get damaged.
      One thing I really love about comics is rereading them, so I like them accessible.
      If I bought old comics at premium prices, I'd probably keep them in the bag and board they came in, and never read them.
      But almost all my comics were bought at cover price.
      I'll buy some back issues, most of them at $2 to $4, so the same or less than a new comic.
      Hmmm, I have a few comics I didn't like. I bagged and boarded them in case they become valuable and I can resell them. Since I don't plan on rereading those, accessibility isn't an issue.

    Man I bought a few Bronze Age classics on eBay recently & one of the sellers sent me a Devil Dinosaur #1 & #8 in a Ziplock bag, taped inside of a Gemini mailer they cut in half & folded around the Ziplock, then stuffed THAT inside of one of those plastic Media Mail bags to ship it to me. Needless to say those books looked great in the photos but by the time they got to my mailbox (2 weeks later, mind you), even after careful cleaning, humidification & pressing neither book will ever get a grade above 6.5, maybe 7.0 if I'm lucky & CGC goes easy on them.

All of my books went into a sheet protector, the grocery store didn't stock bags n boards(at that time i didnt know B&B existed) , another reason why newstand comics are hard to find in top shape. Obviously now all of my books are in B&B. If you find comics that are stored in sheet protectors it might well be that they didn't have access to B&B. And those books might belong to original owner. I collect a lot of modern age comics so I use the modern bags and boards. The silver age comics are a little wider so the silver age bags and boards give the comic more room where it needs it. Yes. I absolutely take them out to read them from time to time.

    I get alot of my comics from this place called Comics n stuff and they have most of them with boards.
    I thought that was standard practice 🤔

    The plastic sleeves are better than nothing.

    I do not have to use any of those for my comics because they are hard covers and they’re very shiny because I take care of them every day

    I use Mylar and Acid free backing boards for all my Golden Age back issues, for my modern ones, Not all that much I’m afraid. 🤗

    If it has a pic in bottom left hand corner it is a reprint and worthless unless it has a barcode. And that's comic tip 2 .

    • @TheNERDWay1
      @TheNERDWay1  Рік тому

      A picture in the corner is from a direct edition comic from a comic store. A barcode is from newsstand edition. If you knew anything about comics, you would realize that. Thanks for showing everyone your stupidity. Keep your idiot tips to yourself.

    I know, it's already been a year since you uploaded this short, but may I ask you something?
    Are the comics in A4 format?

    • @TheNERDWay1
      @TheNERDWay1  9 місяців тому +1

      I’m pretty sure most modern comics are in the A4 format. Silver age comics are a bit bigger and Marvel even printed some in magazine size back in the day.

    True, but the books on the left look like a collector who just didn't have the money for bags and boards. I had to become an adult with a real job before i could afford to properly care for my books.

      I still have some in the bag from my local comic shop. I’ll read them first then bag them up.
