Reacting To Shiny Happy People Documentary! Welcome to the first in our series on the Amazon show Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets.
We're beginning a really special series here on Prey vs. Predator! After watching the documentary "Shiny Happy People" and seeing the many red flags of coercive control, we knew we had to cover this fascinating series.
And, so, we begin a series of enlightening discussions about the controversial Duggar family. In this first video, we analyze the manipulative coercion and control tactics used in the Duggar's religious cult. Drawing from our own experiences, we explain how many mainstream churches subtly promote similar values that can enable abuse. We break down how fear, loving moments, isolation, and punishment are used to control victims and force obedience. Finally, we examine how predators exploit prey's innocence and desire for connection.
We hope our discussion provides some insight into recognizing and challenging religious systems of abuse. Victims NEED A VOICE, predators HAVE to be held ACCOUNTABLE, and as prey we have to learn to trust our own instincts.

Brilliant episode.
I knew a few people using this or a very similar curriculum and as far as infants were concerned, it was appalling. Meals their hands were held down and they were spoon fed even until older age. That's the least of it and with some babies they were adopted (and therefore traumatized).

Yeah, we have to remain anonymous for the time being. We are all dealing with legal issues with our predators and have to wait until the waters settle, so to speak. We hope to show our faces someday!
