This has totally changed my view of Rockefeller. I had no idea of his support of the civil rights movement. He kept it secret for to do so publicly was political poison then.

airdaleva42 the Rockefellers have always been massive contributors to civil rights. Spellman College is named so after John D. Rockefeller’s wife Laura Spellman.

I often ponder what a different world we'd be in today had we had men (i. e., with them getting their policies through) such as Henry Wallace as president in 1948-56, then Adlai Stevenson, 1956-1964, then Nelson Rockefeller in 1964-1968...last, G.McGovern from 1968-1976.
I picked those 4men because all I ever studied of them showed they did have great compassion and as Rockefeller said, he had a Democrat heart and a Republican head...i. e., raise up all, have a healthy, educated populace...have strong defenses but stay out of the foreign wars, etc. Be friends, trade with whomever...and yet we got the oftentimes low life warmongering bastards as LBJ, Nixon, "W" Bush, Drone killer master Obama and now Trump who surrounds himself with intel & generals who love wars. The CIA must have shown clown, cartoonish Trump the 10 second video of JFK in Dallas from 1963...Trump is not trying to get us out of wars...they'd kill him if he tried to do what he promised to do...Trump is maybe worse than Hillary. We knew what scum she is, Trump, sadly, we believed.

We would have been a Communist nation if Wallace had been President. That is why the Dems were smart enough to get him off the ticket with FDR in 1944-- when everyone knew they were running a dead man walking for POTUS. Stevenson was a joke. Rockefeller was a joke and McGovern was the biggest joke of them all. These no-name idiots were reasons the Dems became the crappy cesspool of a political party it is today. Truman was the last Dem who was worth a damn.

Wallace never deserved any elected position the fact he got to be vice president is a insult . The man literally defended the Soviet Union FDR advisors made the right choice not having him on the ticket .

Nelson Rockefeller was a political joke. I cannot see how anyone as smart as Mr. Norton can waste 14 years of his life doing this junk. I wouldn't have voted for Rockefeller for dog catcher in Podunk Missouri.

In 1945 the entire world lost. The Allied Forces of WWII helped the Communists to win. Follow the money.
