- You want to see something a bit different? Well this is the 2016 Holden Commodore SS-V Redline... oh you've seen it before? Well not like this you haven't.
Now to many of us, the Commodore is just everyday transport but switch out the lights and the SS particularly in its nitrate silver paint begins to look a little bit more impressive.
The flares, curves and angles all work together. It's still the sports sedan we know but under the sodium glow, it does look a bit more special.
It's getting pretty late, let's go for a drive.
Why a night shoot? Well to be honest, we've never actually done one before and it gives us a chance to look at some things that you wouldn't ordinarily notice.

Just do it. I picked up my Redline yesterday and have pretty much lived in it since. I have driven German cars for the last decade but this thing is SO special. Great value aside, it's just an awesome car. Also very sad to see the operation shut down. Not only for us lucky Aussies but for the rest of the world who have been enjoying excellent design, engineering and build quality for many years. Thank you Holden, nice work :)
Mee Too Picked up a May 2016 Herron White manual, spats x 4, bonnet protector, boot liner, wind shields x 2 56550 business rego in Sydney. Coming from Ford and a list of hi performance cars, the Commodore is in a class of its own, thank you Holden, a sad day for Holden and Ford when they finally shut down local production. I will probably pick up a v6 SSV auto for the wife next year...
I recently picked up a 2015 SSV Redline Sedan, It's so much fun to drive I hate getting out of it lol. I don't think people realize how special these (last) VF/VFII Redlines are.

Watching this already makes me miss the Commodore.

I got the 2014 ssv love it love it now will be part of my collection since now an extinct breed if you got one never let it go. Years down the track you will be glad to own one still in your possession.

I know this is pedantic but that Commodore is running on the optional 20 inch wheels. The sunroof is also standard on the Redline. Great video, looking forward to getting mine soon.

Ok, at 1:29 there is the large nav screen. Can you dim that down? Kind of like having a large iPad there. Maybe it's not too bad, but a concern for all cars with this kind of setup. I like the night review format.

Those A pillars though. Been almost hit at a crossing by one of these shitboxes even if it was the VE model.

just a suggestion but could we see more night time interior shots on the website? I didn't know Subaru interior lighting was all red and just to get a feel of what luxury car ambiance is like at night time haha

I own one of these but am still pissed at GMH for releasing this car with such a ridiculous factory, 'Monster Truck' ride height, destroys any lines this cr might have.
One reason this car wasn't a success in the US was said to be, it just doesn't look like a performance/ muscle car. Its appearance does grow on you however I still cringe when I see
one on the road today with standard suspension, it's a joke!

It shows how low tech these engines are when a 6.2 litre v8 can only manage 5 secs to 100kph. A 2017 3 litre straight 6 BMW can do 4.5 and around the same price
its a sexy car, but needed standard HID lights, magnetic suspension and the incorporation of led lighting within, this would make it a exceptional car for the money.
that's pretty much what the U.S market gets, but not us. Sucks major.
No Way I see no excuse why the home of this car should not come with the some kit as the U.S variant.

yeah Ill definitely wait for the My17. I think I'm leaning more towards Nitrate Silver with the Blacked out kit. Be interested to see the Son of a Gun colour but from what I have seen its a bit too dark for my tastes.

I guess I got excited reading the title of the video thinking Holden have released a "night edition" of the ssv. I'm still upset that ford and Holden are pulling out of local production and am eagerly awaiting Holden to announce a last special edition like ford with the xr6 and 8 sprints
