    Awesome show, my late wife and I visited Arches national Park years ago, simply put it was the most awesome place we've ever been

    My wife and I visited Arches, Canyonlands, and Zion in May 23 and enjoyed it so much. Our only problem was we went through too fast. We didn't get to savor it all in. We hope to go back one day.

    Please begin each and every video with a date. Just saying spring break or Spring time does not provide enough information. Sounds simple, but so many UA-camrs fail to provide this simple data point. Thanks

    Definitely some great tips! Totally agree about staying in Green River rather than Moab. The whole park is stunningly beautiful!

    Thank you, thank you for addressing accessibility. We are planning a trip with our daughter who is a wheelchair user. It is hard to find info on suitable trails and videos so we can assess the terrain. You are so helpful! Much appreciated

    Great video. I visited last month as part of the cross country from LA to Newburgh New York where i reside. Reservation? We didn't know it. My friends from Korea, one who on the driver's seat we denied and got out. I try to ask in second time at different gate. Literally i begged. Finally we got in. I liked Archis 👍

    We were there for one day and it was awesome! And the weather was 🥵 but we went around 3:30-11pm we saw the sunset and stargazed! We had a ranger talk about the stars and we even saw the International Space Station and even a few satellites! Wish we had time to do Canyonlands

      Do you still need a reservation? Is there a date that they stop requiring a reservation? Like at glacier you dont need a reservation after September 10th.

    Thank you guys for you tipps and explanation. We got a permit for june, 28 at 9 a.m. Before entry we need to drive 90 miles. It will be a challenge. I feel a little bit unsure if this will ends fine for us. Greetings from Germany to you. Isolde

      @WereintheRockies  7 місяців тому

      I'm glad you got a permit! You'll have to wake up fairly early that day but the roads are flat and easily drivable. Hopefully you won't have any problems. Have a great time.

    Very informative videos! Thank you for sharing with us. I have a question, which is a better place to do a jeep ride, Arches NP or Capitol Reef NP if I have to pick just one?

    Hi, I just found your channel as I was looking for "Dumb things tourists do in Yellowstone" and your great video popped up❤ Hope it's OK to comment here, as that video was quite old.
    I live near the bottom of the South Island in New Zealand and we as any place get our fair share of dumb tourists. We lived for the last 50 odd years in the North Island, only having moved the last 4 and half months ago. In the North Island we have lots and lots of volcanoes. One is called Mt Taranaki, its on the west coast at a place called New Plymouth. Anyway, on year a group of young lads decided to climb to the top(lots of people do and we usually see 3 or 4 deaths up there each year) These young lads decided one fine day, to carry a couch up to the very top and the succeeded and then took photos of themselves on the couch on top of this very,very high volcanoe🤔 So if you want to check out Mt Taranaki on Google Earth just out of interest, you will see just what a crazy thing this was to do.😃

      Haha, thanks for finding us! And for sharing your own dumb tourists with us. Haha

      We used Dan Mick Jeep Tours and we have a discount code for you, if you want it. The code is ROCKIES (www.danmick.com). And we have a video about our experience here: ua-cam.com/video/NKzWzkCO17Q/v-deo.html

    I’m 70 years old, and I have some mobility problems. I can walk on flat surfaces okay, and I can use a cane if I have a problem. I know you said the drive is just as good to view the sights in Arches, but if I do want to get out, are there some flatter paths that would be okay for seniors? I’m determined to go. I do a lot of things outdoors, I just have to work around some things.

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  3 місяці тому

      Yes, there are some shorter walks you could do.

    We are the beginning stages of planning a trip for early Oct. we plan on seeing Arches, Canyon lands and Mesa Verde. Thoughts on staying in Cortez?

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  7 місяців тому +1

      It all depends on how much driving you like to do. Cortez is a pretty good place for visiting Mesa Verde, as it's only about an hour away. It's 2h+ to get to Arches from there. If it were me, I would relocate and stay in Moab while visiting Arches and Canyonlands.

    I am afraid of driving on roads with steep dropoffs. I am also afraid of hiking on exposed trails with steep dropoffs. Can you tell me please what roads and hiking trails to avoid for this reason? Thank you!

      Delicate Arch is probably the most popular hike but it does have some places with drop offs or steep ledges. You can watch our video to learn more: wereintherockies.com/hike-delicate-arch-video/

    is it a good time to go if it's winter December?

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  23 дні тому

      December is nice because the crowds will be minimal. There's a chance there could be snow on the ground. If you plan to go hiking, you will want to have spikes to put on your shoes to give extra traction. Make sure to dress in layers.

    About the Timed Entrance Tickets, do you know when tickets become avaliable. The NPS site does not show dates past 30 Nov. I know the tickets are requested as from 1 April. However, do they sell them from the 1st of the month or month's in advance? If they are sold out for your date of visit, you can always arrive prior to 7am when they are not required. Any help is appreciated.

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  11 місяців тому

      The tickets become available 3 months in advance, for example, April reservations (Apr 1-30) open Jan 2 (usually it's the 1st but because of New Years Day, it's the 2nd). If you can't get a vehicle reservation ticket, you can enter without a ticket before 7 am or after 4 pm. You can get more info here: www.discovermoab.com/reservations/#:~:text=A%20new%20system%20for%20reliable%20park%20access.&text=Between%20November%201%2C%202023%20and,Pilot%20Timed%20Entry%20Reservation%20System.

      Thank you. Great information. I'm renting a vehicle as I live in Hong Kong. Don't think I'll have much luck, yet I will try once I have the rental vehicle number plate in hand. Looks like I may need a 5am wake-up call for a pre 7am entry. Again, great content and thank you.
