As a coastie, this makes me fear for all their lives. They are willingly putting their lives, and their family’s lives at risk by trying to traverse such rocky waters. We’ve seen boats be destroyed and sink from less. Always remember rule number 1: have enough inflatables/life jackets on the boat for each person (emphasis on EACH) at all times. Also, NEVER take on a choppy and challenging lake or ocean like this for fun unless you have actual experience driving boats through rough waters. And even then, don’t subject your family to the rough of the waters if you can help it. One wrong turn or move, and your boat, along with its occupants, are going down.

So yeah if you can afford a half a million dollar boat at least go get educated on how to maneuver it. I also don’t consider a bow rider to be a rough water boat. A cabin boat provides a bulwark against the sea and there is less chance of green water coming into the boat. Obviously Florida boaters clearly disagree, given the large number of bow riders and centre consoles you see here. Or people in the bow PERIOD. Bowriders are pretty much always dangerous. A dumb invention. I worked at Thunderbird/Formula and know boats. The first issue, is that in bowriders the deck slopes downward, so waves come over the bow. THEN, instead of washing off a deck and windshield, they simply flood the boat. An acquaintance in California a couple of years ago at age 28 (I am 70) was riding in the bowrider....the idiot 'captain' hit a boat wake while turning...tossed the fellow out and he went under the boat and thru the prop. Dead.

This is like watching Dateline. When the one ends you want to change it until the next one comes on then your sucked right into watching another one....

Watching that first boat (Regal) come back in… all 11 passengers including the captain have PFDs on and are escorted by the Rescue PWC. At least he had all the required PFDs.

I don't think he did. You don't see a single yellow in the beginning of the video. It even looked like they lost one or two to the sea.

And I think the guy in the eventually flooded forward section of the boat was busy the whole time trying to take pictures. No wonder boat insurance is high, some boaters are oblivious to risks

Good to see the family reunion boat most all wearing horsecollar jackets (including the road rage driver) being trailed by the safety patrol. They made it back safely; hopefully with many Lessons Learned???

It angers me to see people without their life jackets on. A cop just died a week ago in my hometown for trying to save a kid who didn’t wear a life vest. Him and the child died. Just wear it!

Why does it anger you ? These idiots are more amusing than anything. In fact I wish there were knuckleheads to this level on the water in my area, great entertainment.
