Damn my forearm hurts after shooting the whole day with that lens!! Who wants or has one?! Have an amazing weekend fam/squad/tribe! We need to find a cool name for our kickass tribe! Any suggestions?! ❤️Come say Hi on Instagram! instagram.com/pierretlambert
I have had both a Canon 70-200 2.8 IS II and the Sony GM 70-200 2.8 and love them both. I am used to shooting with them both and have shot sports tournaments before where I would shoot for 10-12 hours a day for 3 continuous days with a 70-200 on a body with a battery grip. You get used to the weight over time. I have handheld the Canon 600mm f4 lens for an Air Show before. That lens is an absolute beast and my arms were killing me at the end of the day, but I was able to get shots by handholding that those using a tripod couldn't catch due to the action being too fast.
I bought the Canon 70-200 f4l about 5 months ago. Before that I used mostly wide angle to 50mm. There’s definitely a learning curve. I wasn’t getting many good shots at first. But now I’m so happy I bought it, it’s my favorite lens.
Pierre, great video as always. Totally with you on the 70-200 for street (and for landscape also), people always assume that wider angle is better, but with wider angle you get one shot of a scene, whereas with 70-200 you can get multiple vignettes of the same scene. A place for both (if your arms can cope with carrying the 'holy trinity' of f2.8 lenses😂)
@@ZaccaaLifts but the worst case if the tripod mount of the lens breaks he does have a strap attached to the camera body and his wrist so it would just fall a tad bit in the air and catch itself.

I'm going to Toronto at the end of this month and I'm beyond excited for the adventure. I already have the 12-35 f/2.8 which is what I use for street photography 95% of the time atm, so it'll be interesting to see what I can do with the 35-100. Again, great video Pierre!! I always love your videos :) have a lovely week

Hi Pierre! Cool video of you showing what you can get with a tele zoom in the 70-200 range from what distances and it’s effects. I use the 40-150mm f2.8 (80-300) 4:3. I also use the 12-40 (24-80) and 7-14 (14-28). Without having watched your video, let me answer your title question in a special way: I took my best street fotos with a Nikon D810 and a Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 Sports. The 24-70 is probably the best option. I've shot with a 70-200, a 50, and 35mm. I find that there's a disadvantage when you start off at 70mm. I find myself always being too close for a shot, being that your eye sees at about 30 to 35mm. That's going to be my next lens for sure.

Have a 70-200 2.8 but I just bought (last Friday) a 70-200 4L without IS. The idea is to be able to move more easily with lighter gear in broad daylight (to be able to shoot high speed to compensate for the lack of IS). Hey Pierre, why did you take up all the lettering on the lens? Is it a trademark issue? You don't want to give Sony free promo? Just curious. I want to understand how a professional thinks.
Your enthusiasm is completely understandable! :-) I agonized between Canon's f/4 and f/2.8 version of this lens. Ultimately, it was the $ and size that resulted in my getting the f/4. Although there are times I wish I had the 2.8, as a hiker, I'm really glad that it's the f/4 I'm lugging around.
Hi! Could you share how you hang the camera on the bag-straps like in the middle of this video? Is this some gadget you can buy for other bags, or is it a part of yours?
I have the latest 70-200 from canon and the previous version (f/2.8) and it’s the best lens a photographer can have for all situations, me i have muscles so the weight doesn’t bother me..
I don't care what lens is on my camera when I go out shooting. My 70-200 mm F 2.8 is a should strap-pack away. I try to start off with a 50 mm or 24-105 mm, because I know once the 70-200 mm goes on... that's a wrap. Will not be changing anymore for that day. The funny thing is that when I have it on my 7D Mark ii, and battery-grip, the weight is so well balanced that I can carry it all day without any problem. And knowing the look on the face of anyone whom tries to grab it and see that weight take them to ground. Just enough time for me to pounce!
Interesting experience. I was in Milan many years ago with a similar setup: Canon DSLR & 70-200mm lens. Every time I raised my camera up to shoot, people scattered. 😂😂😂
Hi Pierre. I see that you have a camera clip on your backpack shoulder strap. What camera clip do you use? Does it work well when you hang your Sony body with that 70-200 lens?
Hi Pierre, I love your content esspecially so as you're always so inspiring ! Seeing you wearing the Sony body with the 70-200 2.8 attached via the Peak Designs Capture Clip, I wanted to know how comfortable it was ? And if you'd consider hiking like this (which is what I want to do), or would a toploading shoulder bag be better for longer distances and relatively fast deployment compared to storing everything in a backpack ? Keep making excellent videos, regards Wes.
Je suis tombé sur ta chaîne et c’est très intéressant, surtout pour moi ayant récemment repris la photographie plus sérieusement. De bon conseils tout en perfectionnant mon anglais :) je dis oui !
Man... I felt dizzy already looking thru that glass floor and I'm here sitting on my chair! Since you are hovering around 200mm lenses with f/2.8, maybe you want to consider just a trial with "untracked" astrophotography - something I'm trying to do now and the results are so so (aiming to capture a galaxy or a nebula but no luck so far)

Laughing out loud
Haha 😅
Hi! Could you share how you hang the camera on the bag-straps like in the middle of this video? Is this some gadget you can buy for other bags, or is it a part of yours?
very good and refreshing to see. love this
Thanks Stephen!
Street photography ?, I see urban landscape, review the concepts. !!!!
i thought i was the only one.
I guess is subjective! :)
The shot with Coale shooting is definitely not street photography!
He's photographing on the streets.
Hes shooting people on the streets, i call that street photography
hi, what's your camera? nice video bro!
As a beginner sony a7 iii enough for me?
I have the latest 70-200 from canon and the previous version (f/2.8) and it’s the best lens a photographer can have for all situations, me i have muscles so the weight doesn’t bother me..
Being strong is important!
5:03 that parking lot was in The Dark Knight where Batman jumps down onto the van
Canon 70D w/ Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 (non IS) . - shoot fast lens/shutter - who needs IS?
Haha
great video where is the parking , have nice view
3:59 May I suggest a wireless mic like the rode wireless go ☺️
that would make a great difference.
Yes good idea! But then I feel like we lose the on the field feel. Maybe I'm wrong?
Pierre T. Lambert I don’t think you’re wrong per se. It would be nice to have for certain scenarios though 😀
All pictures are awesome Pierre, i'll try it, but my lens is a 100-400, i think it's going to be little harder 😉😂😉😂
😂😂
Interesting way to customize your lens, why did you tape it that way? Is there a specific reason?
Loved the last scenes LOL!
Hahaha 😅
This video was like... really pleasant to watch !
Thank you!!! ♥️
You’re photography is insane man! You make it look effortless👍🏻
Great as always!
Thanks Brian!
Merci Stay!!
I have literally just purchased this lens and haven't even had it on the camera yet! I can't wait to play with my new toy! -- TOY!!? Did I say TOY!?
That sounds epic to try!
Good Luck! @@Pierretlambert
