The first Exorcist is an absolute classic and will never be topped. This movie, surprisingly, had a pretty good storyline, great cameo appearances. And I loved the ending.
This movie is actually not even that scary. It can make you feel uncomfortable and scared but just for a little while in my opinion. I would recommend it though.
Blumhouse productions said on a shark tank episode they literally put in the lowest budget possible so they consistently get a profit. So if you’re ever bummed out by their productions, that’s why.
So, this directors biggest flaw in my opinion is a fundamental misunderstanding of the use of music in an Exoricst movie. In the original, almost no music was really used save for a few moments when it truly enhanced the horror of the scene. Overuse of music makes the movie less scary.
I think the music in the original Exorcist really fitted the movie well and it is a good creepy tune. I think music can add atmosphere to a horror as long as it is good music that fits perfectly. Salem's Lot (1979 Tobe Hooper)is a perfect example. They used music in the vampire scenes which made it more scary and creepy to me. The music itself was a masterpiece.
Far Better preach the right word of God. But the soul maybe darkened by external influences, and it could be dealt with Prayers. The Man who's righteous need to do the righteous prayers, and at the end of it, the nature of the individual has to be notified towards the person in a rather optimistic way.
I'm with a few other commenters here -- I think this movie is going to be SPLENDID, & I'm going to really love it! ^_^ Besides, what's one more sequel gonna hurt? 😊

The problem with the genre is that all of the tricks have been done. The original writing has been done and so we don’t see anything new. They rationalise that they make these for a new modern audience. Now Fx are used to creature scares and jumps. It’s 2023 we’ve seen haunted houses, possessions, nightmare stuff, evil etc we’ve seen it all just far too much. Stop making remakes. Just let the originals breathe
During the climax, when the hesitant priest came in to perform the exorcism after all, I initially thought, wow, this is a bold move in 2023 to have the priest be the only one to be able to take down a demon, maybe this movie can redeem itself after all… And then IT happened. 🙄It would’ve been transgressive to end there. They didn’t know when to quit. Hollywood hates Christianity so much that a movie can’t show the priest being the only one who exorcism works, even if the story is better for it, because God forbid it accidentally have a pro-Catholic message.
Legitimately one of the worst sequels of all time. This film is such a colossal embarrassment. The worst Exorcist sequel of all time which is really saying something.

Im a huge horror fan i really am a fan of the classic horror like halloween jason freddy ect. But the new horror is junk they play all the good an what they call scary in the trailers so it sucks you in to watch tje movie an its garbage.
Cut CGI and hire professional makeup artist. Be original. Dialogue, sound effects and background music has failed as of the last 20 years. The subtle long periods of no music amplifies action and everything that does happen. Having a masterful use of what’s at hand is better than just putting in all the new stuff just because. An up to date rendition of the original possessed face should be terrifyingly real. But it’s this CGI SHIT!!!
My girlfriend gets possessed all the time. Its usually whens shes at a bar or the gym and it take over her and forces her to have sex with random men. Weve tried everything like the movie does but nothing helps. Its happened 100 of times. It always scares her so much after to that she doesn't want to have sex with me then.
@@soonernation37 yeah. it also depends on youre taste. if youre looking for the classic exorcist makeup and acting, its there but imo its much more enhanced and creepy. there’s also a unique and different “moral”/plot twist. if the OG exorcist was a 10, this is a 7.5. hope this helped
