Use the everyday car to go into dav leave the nice one at home. I took my car there twice and each time I was about hit because some idiot was doing 90 down Kimberly Rd right near North Park.
I moved to Costa Rica 14 years ago. Davenport IA is better to leave in any season.

That's awesome! I've never been a huge fan of Tropical weather just because I can't handle heat well but funny enough my Fiance is from the Philippians so when we visit there I melt.
It took 55 years for us to finally get to the point where we could leave. It's sad, because it used to be pretty nice. Besides the weather, which has always been awful, things started getting noticeably worse about 15 years ago.
- Increased crime
- Corrupt city government
- Crumbling infrastructure
- High property taxes
Every time we come back to visit, I think to myself, "It HAS to be better this time... it CAN'T be as bad as last time..."
Yet every time, without fail, it's worse.
If not for family, I'd never set foot in DavenPit again.
I lived there for many years... myself and a friend also called it Davenpit!! I think we had another one also, the quad shitties! Also referred to it as Shawshank... cause it had this feeling like it was the only place on Earth, and you couldn't get out! over 20 years gone, have not come back.... and I said when I left I would not....😩....
It was only in below zero temps in the QC this year was at night a couple of time this January. Unless you are talking about 'feels like' temps, you are mistaken. This was a very mild winter, as was 23-24 winter. I live here, too.
This winter was fairly mild for sure.
POT HOLES MAN. That's why I hardly drive around Davenport anymore. Especially on 53rd and Elmore. While it's bad I wish they would work on the roads at night in the summer like Florida does, or do better maintenance throughout time so that the roads (main or small) don't get so bad. Fun fact there is a site to submit photos and report potholes in Davenport!

I look for things to do here and well there is NOTHING to do here literally! You can only go to the park and well thats about it unless you want to be drunk or high there are tons of watering holes here.
Yeah it's not much for young ppl to do here
