Alex, the grocery store problem could be solved by a more on-the-ball city council. Your reps need to step up and not allow food deserts to develop. Maybe that could be your next job: you do a good job of selling Davenport to home buyers. Maybe start targeting more business owners.
I gotta say one good thing about davenport is the car thefts are down. Not long ago there were like 300 car thefts over there. Id see out of town folks leaving the car running while going into a store. I told them you never wanna do that here ever. Especially over in Davenport.
Alex, when I lived in Chicago I've never had any allergies in my life but similar to your wife, I developed year round allergies 😅 Worse in spring/summer but it's managable! Just take the medicine and hope that one day my body can adjust to the location. 🙏🏽
Better sidwalks and more useful trails that can help get around town im looking into building an asult size pedal car but also where im Allowed to im also looking into making a riding mower into a golf cart law/ slow moving vehicle legal as another source of transportation
My husband and I were considering Davenport but the allergies thing is a big deal breaker for me. Thanks for mentioning it! I have bad allergies - pretty much year round, but especially bad in the spring. So Davenport is out. :( Could you recommend an area of Iowa with lower issues with allergies?
Pretty much anywhere in Iowa you are going to have allergies. That being said a city is generally going to be lower just because there isn't as much agriculture close by as if you are in rural areas.
I'm within a minute walk of a hy-vee. Traffic sucks at certain times of the day. I've seen vehicles rear-end each other in front of my house. The last accident, a car ended up in my front yard.
Ive been here for months and don't have a friend. I find them very unfriendly. And unhelpful and highly discriminatory to the poor too. The other issues you talk about don't matter to me. How friendly the people are, how open to new people etc. Thats what is important to me.
Hmmm. I'm not sure this even qualifies as a subject of particular concern because most Americans either never heard of Iowa or certainly don't care about it.
Thanks to 2 idiot drivers i cant drive for awhile so i got to bike ride and other sources of transportation i can take advantage of to stay dependent and get around.
@@ToIlluminateTheSun Years ago, my close friend and his brother went to St. Ambrose so i visited pretty regularly. The smell is what I remember most lol

We’re dealing with flooding now! Hate it lol
Just moved from across the river to Davenport 🤙🤙🤙
I've said it before and I will say it again.
QC needs to open a Trader Joe’s ASAP at least one on each side IL/IA 🙂
I've heard rumors of one but who knows rumors go around all the time.
Davenport isn't bad if you live up north. Just avoid being over near Menards. It might be one good neighborhood then you have Americana park.

She complains about it often but she also says it's worth it to her to live where she Does now vs where she came from

Sounds like you are near Lincoln Rd. The west locust hy.vee is a bad stretch for accidents.

I'm very sorry to hear that. Where in the QC did you move too?

😬still better than Louisana 365 days a year
That's great to hear!

Those that are not concerned about this particular topic should probably not comment.
@@dwaynef17046 That doesn't negate my point.

Why you only talk about bad things? It’s so sad
The whole town smells like dog food.
Definitely a "Con" to living in the Davenport West area, wind blows the stench pretty far out. 😝
