This album really is something else. Thanks for posting this. I actually gave this remaster a download and found that the bass is way too high in the mix, not a huge fan of that, but luckily it can be fixed in audacity really easily
you're really the 🐐fr I think we share similar sentiments on the album over all. I feel like we all wish the album got the mix and master it deserved, especially from how good so much of it is musically. If you take a listen at their announcement video you can hear a much more finished version of what much of "Stellar" sounds like, it makes me sad knowing what could have been. But after waiting 9 years for it, I'm glad we at least got what we got even if it's rough around the edges a bit. I would assume a lot of that would have been worked out in later stages of development for the album without weird song transitions or synth placeholders. But also, I think you're right on some of the synth stuff working and I would think some of those would have stayed synths, but at least a couple seemed to have supposed to be guitar if it gotten to that point in that version. Regardless, a lot of the specifics and questions you might have is basically answered in the video you linked in the description and mentioned early on. You also mentioned that you might end up listening to the original demo version they released and I think you'll find it pretty similar but probably even more muddier sounding. The version you listened to, as far as I know, mostly just cleaned up the mix so things were less muddy sounding and it didn't really replace anything or add anything that wasn't already there instrumentally. The other slightly newer one by Alejandro Valdenegro Diaz replaced the guitar and drums entirely as far as I know so some of that is alleviated which I think is a great sounding version as well. All of them are good to me at least. thanks again dude, you're awesome for doing this :^)
Dude the contortionist and corelia are my favorite bands! Have you heard corelias nostalgia ep? It's heavier and is just amazing check it out some time
@@matthewdesouza2542 I've heard a few songs from it on request streams. I know I heard The Sound of Glaciers Moving but that's the only one I can recall
Dude, great video. Keep it up. This album is important. Loved your musical analysis too.
This was the first prog album I listened to thanks to panda a couple years ago. Was entertaining to hear your reaction and thoughts 🤘
