4 decades old, but being a 2-stroke is still as good as anything made today.

Two stroke simplicity and brilliance. KTM manages to still make plenty with "cleaner" burns. If we buy them they'll make them.
I had a YAS3 back in the day ,this brings back happy memories of being 17 again !
I had the scrambler
Wow, what a beautiful engine sound!
Great memories! Bring back the 2-stroke!!
Almost any old bike running well and super clean is quite desirable.
Gotta love small capacity twins, double the fun when polishing/fixing 😃
Awesome video sorry i missed it when it came out!
Exactly the same as mine which I bought from Chattertons in Grimsby. UK bikes had chrome mudguards though. After running in, Allspeed pipes fitted, flat bars, a bel-ray sticker & I was Barry Sheene (once he'd moved to Yamaha). PJV 329S where are you?
ps the front right side fork is leaking........
Awesome bike
In 1975, I rode a hired AS1 Yamaha twin 2 stroke from Kuta to Padang Bai in Bali and back with Susan from San Francisco on the back. The bike handled the 110 km round trip two up without any problems.
First bikes Suzuki T350J and GT500 strokers, brilliant bikes, easy to work on and more importantly great fun to ride due to engine power bands!
Excellente vidéo
2T bikes are brilliant.. my first bike aged 17 was a Honda NS125F.. I also owned an NS125R (bought new), Kawasaki KR-1, Suzuki RGV250P (new again), and an RD350LC in KR colours. Bring back 250 2 strokes!
If I may be so bold to point out.
The TZ125 was a single cylinder.
The 125 twin racers were TA125,s
Based on the AS twins. A As1 based racer is the only street bike based racer. Ever to win a World championship. In the hands of Kent Anderson.
I have an RD250 E 1978 in need of some love...chrome allspeeds as well.
I may delve into the black arts of the restorer.
Great classic the RD
In silver?
I had the RD 200 DX in orange
It was actually 17bhp, i had an rd125dx back in the early 80's, the bike was unrestricted back in the 80's when the restrictions were brought in.
This is so awesome to see a video of an RD125. Not too many on the Tube. I am building an RD125 Cafe racer currently. The 125 has an impressive power feel. When you ride one you won't expect how really powerful the 125 is. I can't wait to get mine on the road in full cafe form factor and a total weight of 180lbs.
Hey, I own a RD 125 from 1981. Recently the stator assembly has gotten some issues and I have to get a new one. Do you have any tips on where I can get this, seen as you are in the process of builing a cafe racer? Thanks!
@@torsteinpenne9078 I just saw one in eBay from muffs Motorsports, a stator assembly for the RD125. It's $199 if that might be of interest. 👍
@@torsteinpenne9078 Take it to a motor rewinder. They have done my Z1000j stator for me as they are now unobtainable.
@@jewelrycasa Hey! Thanks for the tip. I looked at the one you mention and I saw that the engraved number "on top of" the stator-plate was "K109-12504", instead of "K108-...". Do you know what these numbers mean? And is there a difference between K109 and K108? Thanks!
I have one of these yamaha rd 125 dx 1980 model
Definitely had some refurb in the last as the y originally had chrome bodyguards front and rear .
perhaps not in South Africa?
Sorry..now after a bottle of Pinotage ( not really...it's Chilean) i really have come to appreciate the depth of comedy, if ya will, in this video...as he rides away....i am greatly amused...thank you ( ya...it is the wine...to a certain extent...hahahah...sorry can't resist) 3:31
Is this little gem of a moto ever worth as much as.........wait for it.....3 grand U.S. bucks?? Please let me know There is one nearby...perhaps
is it?
Back in the day we used to feel a little sorry for those on RD200s or GT185s - but an RD125??? LMAO.
Ooooof, those forks though...
SA?
Randburg bike.
Yamaha still make 2 stroke dirtbikes whit a regular carburator 👍🏻 😀
Rx 135
Thank you for the history lesson 👍 made me think of Jeremiah 6:16...ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
Belief in a deity is a mental illness.
@@Bow-to-the-absurd knew a woman from Russia who said government fed citizens the same propaganda. You’ll change your tune. It’s only a matter of time. “From that time JESUS began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” ✋ 🛑 ⚠️ 🔥 👑 🕊

@@richardmorton5650 why would one do that when today, Holy Writ, thousands of years old, original writings of the greatest men who ever lived, is accessible to the entire world? Scripture tells us why. It is because the devil deceives the Whole World! I LOVE the scriptures which are the only words of LIFE! There is such a wonderful peace of mind in the Gospel, especially as a rider... 🏍
125cc but could do 100 mph. Been there done that way back in the early 80s.
You are lucky the cops didn't catch you for the Randburg numberplate.
Well yeah
My 1995 aprilia rs125 absolutely embarrasses modern equivalents.
Would be an absolute weapon, those 125s weigh nothing
i had the same bike hated it,it was unreilable guzzled fuel always burning out spark plugs, never touch one again
nope screw the past
You're young - give it time - eventually we all yearn for what we had because the future is not better, despite what you're told. Believe me, all of us oldies by definition were young once, but you've never been old! We know stuff.
