- GMC remote initialization. I had both my remotes stop working during unlocking so I ordered a new remote. This is the procedure for initializing the remote for one or more remotes.
Thank you for your video. My 2006 GMC SIERRA's remote quit working. I only had one, so I ordered 2. And I needed a second one for my Chevy 2003 S-10. So I went to your recommend Car and truck remote website and order the ones I needed. Both on sale @ $39.00 each. Huge savings vs dealer cost.
Now I just need to get them and programed using your UA-cam channel instructions.
I did a feed back and told where I got their website name. From you.
Thank you so much.
67 yr grandma.. 😄
This is what worked for my 2003 Buick Rendezvous CX.
IMPORTANT: Before entering programming mode, have in possession all of the transmitters you will be using on the
vehicle. Once you program the transmitter, all previous codes will be erased from the memory. The other
transmitters will not be functional until you program the transmitters again.
1. Close the vehicle doors.
2. Insert key in ignition and turn to ON (As far as you can without cranking engine)
3. Turn ignition OFF and remove the key from the ignition.
4. Press and hold the driver side door lock switch in the UNLOCK position and don’t let go until step 8.
5. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder and remove the key. (Do not turn the ignition key in the
lock cylinder.)
6. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder and remove the key. (Do not turn the ignition key in the
lock cylinder.)
7. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder. (Do not turn the ignition key in the lock cylinder.) Leave
the ignition key in the ignition lock cylinder.
8. Release the door lock switch. The vehicle will sound three beeps in order to verify the Program Mode has
been activated.
9. Press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons together on the keyless entry transmitter and hold until the vehicle
beeps twice to verify that the transmitter has been successfully programmed (this take approximately 15 seconds).
10. Repeat step 9 for each transmitter you want to program including your existing working remotes. You can
program up to four remotes.
11. Remove the ignition key in order to exit the Program Mode.
Thanks. It works on a 2009 and 2007 Saab 9-7x. You saved me a lot of money and not having separate remote and key.
norbkowa That is awesome! I did not know that this also worked on a Saab :) I am glad my video was helpful! If you can any donation to help me make more videos would be great. If everyone who watched a video gave $1 it would go a long way. Thanks either way! I hope I was able to help save you some $$$ www.gofundme.com/askthecarexperts

I am going to try this first before I order a new one. I just called the dealership to ask how much they charge to program a remove, they say 131.00. THAT'S CRAZY. All the lock key on my remote does not work. All the other ones do. But I will try this at home today on my existence remote, if it still does not work, I will order a new one. But I sure don't want to call the dealership again!
+Sun Shine Hello, I hope it works for you!

This process works perfectly. It worked to program my new remote but for some reason my old one doesnt work now. Every time I program one the other one gets un-programed. Do you know the process to make two remotes work?
+Michael Sepulveda When you program a new remote you have to reprogram the old one with the new one as well.
It also works on a 99 Suburban.
When I let go I of the unlock button my lock/unlock cycles twice. I was advised to disconnect the negative battery cable for 15 minutes and try again but it still doesn't work. please help. I received no remotes when I bought my 2003 Tahoe so I really want to make this work. thanks for your help

I have not yet done a paring to a Saturn. It may be a different process but it would be worth trying.

Marcial Martinez Hello Marcial, I am pretty sure it was around 40 for the remote. I found it online for a great price. I think it was keyless-remotes dot com
