- "The Quarantine Blues" was written by John McLaughlin with Cindy Santana Blackman and Narada Michael Walden. The song was socially distance recorded and filmed in Monaco, Hawaii, Detroit and San Rafael in a collaboration to raise money for Musicares Coronavirus Relief Fund to help struggling musicians who have been hit hard by the shutdown of all live music.
"The Quarantine Blues" features John McLaughlin, Cindy Blackman Santana, Carlos Santana, Narada Michael Walden and Ralphe Armstrong and Narada's dancing kids, Kelly, Kayla and Michael with mom Katie.

The one thing great about this quarantine is seeing so many master artists producing videos, with no record companies getting in the way. It is great to see and hear John, Carlos and Narada playing again, and it is so good too.

This is dope. The creativity during Quarantine from all the artists was amazing. I like this better with no record companies. They can do there thing.

I saw John McLaughlin, Narada Michael Walden, and Ralphe Armstrong play together in 1974. It is nice they are still friends. Armstrong was the world's fastest bass player in those days. They must all be in their sixties.

I saw Carlos and John together in 1972 in Germany It was one of the best concerts I have been to I am glad to see them together again
Yeah I have a cd of the album they did together some crazy guitar on that.
After seeing the mahavisu 7 or 8 times I also saw the love, devotion, surrender tour in Detroit. It was an awesome show. After that time I just have never found Carlos to be very impressive and painfully repetitive. Sorry but that's my ears not all the people who find him so amazing! Look at John's playing here. The man has semi retired due to arthritis but hell the riffs he's laying down ain't no kiddie stuff!

So great to see and hear all of you! A special shout out to Ralphe Armstrong, one of the greatest musicians out there and who, along with Narada Michael Walden and John McLaughlin recorded my most life changing album of all time: Visions Of The Emerald Beyond.
I agree, Visions Of The Emerald Beyond was the first John McLaughlin album I ever heard and it's still my favourite. I was so thrilled to see Ralphe in the video!
